“I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff here. It is run by a group of young people who always had a smile, a sweet word, or were ready to help if needed. They brought an energy and helpful spirit in every aspect. The campground is spotless, they pick up your garbage for you, plenty of washers and dryers in the laundry room. It was too cold for the water park but the horses and goats were friendly and a nice amusing touch. The owner made me laugh out loud with his guidelines. It is a joyous place all around. David Coomer and I enjoyed it tremendously and loved our site.”

“We’ve been going to yogi Bloomington for 5 plus years. Halloween is our favorite. Unfortunately this year it was immediately noticeable that a different ownership company has taken over. The old owners took such pride and built a legacy there. We booked our stay in two cabins and a 6 person golf cart over a year ago. Our weekend started off with a phone call before arrival stating our 6 person golf cart was unavailable, we could have a 4 person instead. That’s fine. We arrived and the last four person golf cart that was working (many were broken) was already given to another family. The first night there was a pumpkin planting hay ride we purchased seeds for, one of my kids tripped on the way there and we just barely missed the tractor driver getting off and they wouldn’t let us take a trip. He was rushing to the next activity I’m sure and this is when we noticed something was off and they were so short staffed compared to other years. They mentioned since we had the tickets we could ride the next day either way, the next day was too crowded. In the stations where multiple people were helping run years before there would only be one person. The young gal running the store was very nice but over worked and understaffed. She did get us a four person golf cart the second day. Some of the activities were canceled. A lot of things were unlocked due to staffing, no checking arm bands no code to get in, no one manning the bikes kids were just hopping on them. Our kids always love the trick or treating so we were just making it through to that, even with all the changes we were noticing. We had two cabins, neither were clean but the culmination was when I was nursing our 9 month old and I noticed a live adult bed bug going towards my arm and his head. We then spent most the rest of the trip throwing away many of our belongings and setting up professional cleaning of both of our cars so that we did not infest our own homes. They refunded one of our cabins but honestly the time money and stress that went into all of this we believe we should be refunded for the second cabin and help with the professional cleaning bill. Our kids spent the last day throwing away their favorite stuffed animals instead of making their normal fun memories. It’s sad for us to see the quick decline after visiting for years. I sincerely hope they take the proper cleaning measures before someone has a serious hospital trip from the bed bug infestation. The prior owners took such pride in this place.”

65777 Maple Rd, Lakeville, IN 46536, United States

“We rented a monthly space from May through September in 2022, and May through August in 2023. This campground is very well-maintained. The owners are friendly. We enjoyed our stay. We also got to know a bunch of the seasonal campers, and they are great people as well. They included us in many of the things that they do on a regular basis. We will miss being here at Maple Ridge! They have nightly spots available, monthly spots available, and usually a waiting list for the seasonal spots.”

Indian Lakes Campground

6460 S 075 W, Wolcottville, IN 46795, United States

“Love the fact you can go from lake to lake without pulling your boat out of the water. The indoor pool is nice for those who choose not to swim in the lake. Fishing is decent. They do have a couple parks for the kids, nice beach area, and a cool game room up by the pool. Campgrounds are clean. Sites are small and do not come with a grill for the fire pit. Everyone there is very friendly! Have fun and camp on!”

“Fabulous community, fun all around. Even when our concert got canceled, we had an amazing time. The owners hired a band and made fun out of what could have been disappointing. We will be back as often as possible even wo convert tickets.”

“We had an excellent stay here. The place is off the main road enough that road noise was not a big problem. The bathrooms/showers were kept clean , and the owner was helpful and friendly. There’s a pretty little pond, and other campers were quiet and respectful.”

Lakeshore Camp Resort

5300 Old Porter Rd, Portage, IN 46368, United States

“Wonderful, but older rv camp. Gates at entrance, staff drives around through the overnight. Feels very secure. Garbage gets collected from your site. Very conveniently located close to Chicago. Pool and lake are pretty nice. Plenty to do on grounds. Staff takes good care of the grounds and they're very polite. Took the two dogs and we did lots of walking. The other visitors in the park are also very friendly.”

Caboose Lake Campground

“Love the campground. Very clean and orderly. RV sites are fairly spacious - campers not on top of one another. Loved looking out over the lake and enjoying the breeze on hot summer days. The problem is that I-65 is literally next to the campgrounds (we were across the lake and probably no further than 200 yards from the interstate and the traffic NEVER stops. Luckily, the a/c at night mostly drowned out noise. ) This was really the only drawback to this pretty campsite.”
