“We LOVED this place for the experience we had, although, we didn't love our RV spot right next to the railroad tracks. Would have loved a heads up on that, they were not full. So we would have appreciated a spot away from the tracks. Everything else was amazing. Walking distance to the brewery and distillery. And the train station.”

“We absolutely loved our stay at Verde Ranch RV Resort. The resort is very new, clean, and well laid out. All of the RV sites and the streets are very large and easy to pull into. This resort has a great clubhouse, a pool with two hot tubs, …”

“Magical! Wander Camp was the highlight of our trip to the Grand Canyon! It was very comfortable, clean, and cozy. A very unique experience! The people were friendly and helpful! We had the best nights of sleep. There are no words to describe the night sky, completely unreal beauty. I am so fortunate to have found Wander Camp and will be visiting their other sites as it makes the trip even more memorable! Do yourself a favor and GO!! You won’t regret it!”

“We’ve been staying here for 3 years and every time have had an amazing experience. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. Pool is clean and cool in the summer months. It’s probably the cleanest park we’ve been at! Casino right across the street with and a shuttle that takes you there and back!”

Grand Canyon Western Ranch

Closed until 03:00 PM

3750 E Diamond Bar Rd, Meadview, AZ 86444, United States

“The Grand Canyon Western Ranch was an enjoyable trip for my family. It takes you away from the crazy hustle of fast city life and transforms your time into a country western. The staffing is minimal but they make up for it with their attention-to- detail and the southern hospitality. Cowboy Dave is an interesting fella. There is no need for your cell phone because there is no wifi. Open communication with warm bodies individual ...very refreshing to see. What do you without cell phones...you talk, have camp fires, and listen. Your welcome”

“Terrible experience, if you have a large group DO NOT COME HERE. Fist off we were greeted by the site host minutes after arrival with a 20 minute long, rule list. Quiet hours begin at 10:00PM which we interpreted as campfires being put out, music off, and quite. Well apparently “quite hours” means go to SLEEP because around 10:30 the camp host walked into our area and told us to “rap it up and go to sleep” mind you the fire was out, music was off, we had one lantern in the middle of our site with our chairs surrounding talking amongst ourselves. The host walked in the site unannounced and told us all to “go to sleep” and if she had to come back to our site then we will be escorted off site by the sheriff. We camped with a group of 20, prior to booking the site we read through to website to ensure it would fit our needs. NO WHERE on site does it state 3 tents per site (we booked 2 sites) we had our main site where we spent most our time and the second site for a tent. Mind you the second site was on a steeper hill that was only capable of holding maybe 2 tents even though it was posted to hold a party of 10. The host came by and made us separate our tents and split up. SO CLEARLY THEY MAKE UP RULES as they go because again, no where on the website does it state this. There was ALSO an issue with parking, we paid extra for an addition vehicle per site and the host aggressively walked in our site and demand payment for the additional vehicles even though it was paid online during booking. All around TERRIBLE experience, clearly it’s an authoritarian ran site with intense rules, it was unenjoyable because at any given moment the host could pop up with a new rule/ regulation. And to top it off the restrooms were DISGUSTING.”

Phantom Ranch

N Kaibab Trail, North Rim, AZ 86052, United States

“It's probably the most famous place in the world to get an ice-cold lemonade, and the reputation is well deserved. We stopped recently on our north to south canyon crossing, and Phantom Ranch was a welcomed sight on the journey. The history of this place is amazing, so many great people along the way making it what it is today 😁🌵🏃‍♂️😎”

“Great experience. Make sure you you YouTube different things if not a camper like myself. Like, organizing a fire strategy, how a stove geater works, portable potty would be great ( it gets dark at night). If hiking and carrying stuff, you better be in great shape. Took me an hour to move my stuff to the honeysuckle. The load was heavy, should of payed for them to carry it. Other than that the staff was Amazing and made everything simple. Will definitely go again and more prepare.”

“This review was for our stay in November of 2022. It was originally posted to RVLife Campground reviews, apologies for forgetting to post it here as well for so long: The scenic views of the mountains here are amazing. Amenities and park activities are also plentiful, and ATT service works great here. This is NOT a nice place to visit with dogs despite being a "dog friendly" park. ALL of the grass is densely saturated with very thorny stickers. It is so bad that after a couple of walks, my dogs started using the bathroom in the street and avoided the grass at all costs. I consider the thorns in my "cleanliness" score because this is something the park could treat for with weed killer. The areas of the park that ARE treated, also have a "no pets" sign attached meaning my pets cannot enjoy the nicer parts of the park. The dog parks are small and rough terrain that my pups also did not enjoy. A LOT of full timers here with rigs that look like they should be retired. Park does not appear to do any kind of "eyesore" verification of what is being brought into their facility. 5mph speed limit means you have to spend more time watching your speedometer and hovering over your break pedal than watching for pedestrians and being safe. The rules enforcement was our last straw. We never had any issues, but seeing in writing that the "First warning is when we ask you to leave" did not make us feel very welcome. We immediately began searching for a different park that would be more welcoming to their guests. Tmobile and Verizon were both non-existent, and Starlink was decent during the day. Camp wifi was hit or miss even with the park 1/3 empty. Park also does not offer refunds of ANY type. We payed for an entire month and only stayed 4 days. Our lesson here. Be very sure you want to stay here before giving them any money. We camped at Verde River RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.”

Mesa / Apache Junction Koa Journey

“There are no words for the wonderful staff here. They treat you like family and the entire staff came to wish my "travel kids" Happy 5th birthday at her party at the pool. If you are lucky enough to get a spot at this stunning location with the greatest staff, don't hesitate. The beauty staff and location are the epitome of serenity. I cried and my 5 year old rejoiced when the KOA staff who are her "office friends" all gave us the sweetest surprise with a happy birthday song. I cannot thank the KOA enough for being so kind and compassionate to my family. We will be customers for life. Thank you KOA.”

“I had to give them 5 out of 5 stars for location. They couldnt be more well placed!! Such a great oasis to stay at in the middle of the desert!! Our kids loved the pool (birds come in the evening and cool off in the water, so beautiful!!) and the tortoises!!! The ladies in the office are SO kind and welcoming, and the community as a whole is absolutely amazing! We stayed in an RV Pull-Thru spot- they have full hook-ups including sewer! Extremely reasonably priced compared to nearby parks. NOT a 55+ community so they ARE family friendly. Summertime is very hot, but the pool makes it worth it and the rec hall is pretty cool (AC pumps in there!!). Laundry is available and affordable. We unfortunately didnt stay at the right time to try the Cafe, but we heard SO many great things and we really look forward to trying it next time we stay!! We did stay at the right time for the Sunday Ice Cream social, but we were too busy in the pool 😊 HIGHLY recommend 👍👍👍👍👍”

Bright Angel Campground

N Kaibab Trail, Grand Canyon Village, AZ 86023, United States

“FANTASTIC CAMPGROUND! Perfect set up for R2R hikers or for people looking to overnight in one of the most beautiful places on earth. The campground sits off the North Kaibab Trail giving some privacy away from the rest of the traffic on trail. Has about 31 spots ranging in number of tents able to be set up. All spots have a picnic table and post to hang your pack from as well as a food box to keep your gear and the local wildlife safe. We did encounter some deer strolling through camp on the day we left so be watchful when your food is out. 10/10 would recommend this stay to anyone staying at the bottom of the Grand Canyon.”

Gold Canyon Golf & Rv Resort

7151 US-60, Gold Canyon, AZ 85118, United States

“A lovely resort with friendly neighbors. The staff who assisted with parking our RV were untrained and contradicting each other creating an unsafe situation. The landscapers frequently used gas powered leaf blowers early in the morning. We were prevented from using our dog enclosures. Would possibly stay there again. Yeti at large on YouTube”

Desert Shadows Rv Resort

( 16 reviews )

19203 N 29th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85027, United States

“We loved Desert Shadows, but all of a sudden, I don't know if it is because of new management or ownership but we are no longer welcome because of the age of our RV. Even though it is in excellent condition and in better condition then a lot of newer RVs. I guess loyalty mean nothing. We stayed there from the time our RV was 11yrs. old until it was 22 yrs. old. Go figure!! You get no response on reviews. Apparently they don't care what people say.”

The Inn At Castle Rock

112 Tombstone Canyon, Bisbee, AZ 85603, United States

“I'm giving 2 stars because the staff was friendly. But the room was a big fat no for us. Outdated decor, old carpeting, towels felt like sand paper similar to the toilet paper. Nothing in the room matched and looked more like everything was from a garage sale. If you're someone that appreciates amenities like a TV in your room, blow dryer, comfortable mattress and working outlets, etc look elsewhere. Majorty of the "amenities" were in communal areas. 1 fridge to share with other hotel guests. I understand this place is old but when you spend $167 a night you would think they would invest more in the property.”

Happy Jack Lodge & Rv Park

“My husband and I stayed here while hunting turkey this past weekend. Perfect place! Nice and clean, friendly staff, awesome restaurant. We went both nights to Jacks place and it was perfect. Got super busy with one girl running the show but she did a great job and very friendly no matter how busy she was. Will stay here again!”

Black Canyon Ranch Rv Resort

33900 Old Black Canyon Hwy, Black Canyon City, AZ 85324, United States

“We had a large RV site at Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort. Pristine washrooms and showers, comfortable clubhouse, and the pool and hot tub were very warm. Laundry was very reasonably priced. The nicest part about the place was the warm and welcoming owner, Emily. She was so friendly and approachable, and never seemed bothered by our myriad questions. We had a large cactus on our site, and picked a couple of grapefruits and tangellos from nearby trees. We even had a javelina visit our site one evening. I would recommend this resort if you are in the Black Canyon area. We were a 2 hr drive to Grand Canyon railway, and had a wonderful experience visiting the Canyon.”

“I like this place. I stay while on the rim fishing and this place is perfect for a low priced place to stay for the night. I read the negative reviews and they all look like they were written by democrats from CA who aren’t used to staying anywhere with less than five stars yet. I hope the, like the rest of us, can learn to appreciate being in the woods, staying overnight so you also do it again tomorrow! Can’t fix them. So let them write their negative reviews so they can dive back to Scottsdale feeling they have left a contribution behind…”
