“Old frontier charm at hotel. Beautiful landscape surrounds hotel. Evening dinner leans to the wild side. I had elk and wife had bison; lean meat for sure. Good wine list. Great waiter. Good night sleep in adequate room.”

“This is a luxury RV Park: beautiful manicured lawns, drives and RV sites. The sites are spread out and we requested a more private site because we have our 2 dogs. There is no bits of garbage on the ground, everything here is perfect. My husband said that the bathroom was a little small but very clean. This facility has every amenity from a beautiful swimming pool, a store, .. there is a very positive feeling here, celebratory, happy. I'm happy to have spent 2 nights. We had water and electricity. Every site has a really nice fire ring with grill, picnic table, ...”

“very pretty everything was closeby and they had golf carts to rent out the only issue is you have to pay atleast $5 for extra towels (we had a discount bc we were staying on someone's membership) and they only provided us a body towel, a washcloth and a hand towel”

“gorgeous cabins in the most picturesque setting! incredibly spacious and we loved eating breakfast or enjoying a late night beer on our back deck area. walkable to the visitor center or campground amphitheater where they have nightly ranger talks. beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are very well laid out, and even have double sinks! the cabins have recently undergone renovation and they are very rustic modern, a fitting aesthetic! this is the best jumping off point for exploring the badlands.”

Rapid City / Black Hills Koa Holiday
4.3
( 8 reviews )

3010 SD-44, Rapid City, SD 57703, United States

“This was a good place for exploring the area. Once you are in the campground, you don't feel like you are near a big city. Our pull through site was level and a good size length and width. The hot tub and dog park were good. The bathrooms/ showers were clean. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. It has easy access to major roads to Custer State Park. The best place to get firewood is Safeway in town.”

Days End Campground, Cabins And Rv Park
4.5
( 16 reviews )

2501 Avalanche Rd, Sturgis, SD 57785, United States

“The campground was ok for a weekend visit to Deadwood. I wouldn’t stay longer though. We had a site on the edge, so we had a “yard.” Other sites were very close together. Picnic tables are located at each site and the table for the site beside us was maybe .5 feet away from the camper. If you can get a site on the edge with a “yard,” do it. The very edge of the park used during the rally was dirty and needed to be cleaned up. There were many loose dogs and no idea if they were friendly. The campground was easy to get to. Navigating a large camper in the campground was difficult around some corners.”

Mt. Hood Village Campground

“The staff, the location and the maintenance staff are incredible. Great hiking from the location and fun things for kids to do. We stay in our camper so I can’t speak much about the cabins. Overall we really enjoy the location. The biggest issue is that they have an outdoor pool but it’s not open in the winter (like other places at Mt Hood). This is very disappointing especially seeing we stay and store all winter. They need to reconsider this as it’s a big negative for winter visitors. The heated pool in the winter is a huge perk. There are definitely some upgrades that need to be made and I believe some are getting done currently. Having a heated pool for the winter visitors would be so amazing!!!!!!”

“We spent a week here in early September 2023. It was our base for all to do in the Black Hills region. Bathrooms were cleaned every day, and were very nice. Store had a lot with a small restaurant inside. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Site we had was a pull through on a curve but level. The property was hilly, I liked that for my evening walks. We rode our motorcycle through Custer State Park, the tunnels on iron mountain road and needles highway, Sturgis, Deadwood, Spearfish Canyon and over to Devils Tower Wyoming. Rode the 1880 train in Hill City. Great trip!”

Kemp's Kamp

1022 Old Hill City Rd, Keystone, SD 57751, United States

“Large spots surrounded by tall trees, large rock formations, and a small creek. On the road but pretty quiet. We had a picnic table and grill. Small heated swimming pool was awesome for the kids. Got dinner and breakfast in town, 5 minutes drive down the road. Clean bathrooms with showers. Overall, very nice.”

St. Ignace / Mackinac Island Koa Holiday

“We had a wonderful time staying in mid September in a deluxe cabin! All the amenities we needed and a short drive to everything we wanted to do in the UP. Our only complaint was that the arcade and jumping pillow closed down by 6pm with plenty of warmth and daylight left, and the mini golf course could use some love.”
