“It was loud for a quiet lakeside location. A discotheque on the other side of the lake on Saturdays was booming and all days do the week the lawnmowers we’re buzzing at high volumes. The accommodations are great; the prices rather high. Service is great albeit only in German. WiFi is of very low quality, don’t expect streaming. Lake is great to take a swim in and the glampsite offers many other additional amenities for rental.”

“This place has it all. We arrived by train and stayed in a tent. It is just 2 bus stops from the train station and just next to the beach. It has everything you need - covered seating area, charging station as well as kitchen and clean bathrooms. The staff at the reception is friendly and very helpful. It is quiet, in the nature but also close to the city centre and shops. Would come again - no brainer. Thank you! Danke schoen!”

“Nice campsite next to the sea! The location is good, with a 2 minute walk to the beach (straight next to the dunes). Also good for a stop if you want to take a ferry. No noisy surroundings like streets etc. The facilities are very clean: many showers, restrooms, areas for dishwashing. Parking spaces are nice with green Gras and electricity. Staff is friendly and really helpful! All in all a nice place to be for your vacation on the Fehmarn-Island”

“Excellent English spoken by reception staff, though they were patient with my rusty German too. We found lots of interesting places to visit on a 9 night stay especially the Five Lakes trip from Malente, but a lot of people use this as a stop off place on the way to somewhere else. shower and toilet facilities always clean and warm. You have to be careful not to be trapped on site by the barrier 1 to 3pm, it caught us out just one of the days. Kiel botanical gardens are well worth a visit and are free. One of my reasons for the five star rating for the campsite is that cleaning staff handed in valuables that I left in the toilets by mistake and we were so relieved. The " Schnitzel Schlacht " that the little restaurant/,snack bar does in a Fri evng was excellent, and good value too. I would say, "stay a few says and explore the area - the drizzle doesn't hang ariund too long". Oh, and the Baltic Sea is really clean and clear !!”

“Not recommended for larger caravans...or cars... dt a very narrow internal road with a coupple of 90 degree bends leading to the short time camping site. After the first night we loaded the family in the car for a trip half past one inn the afternoon, but the gate was closed with a padlock. The woman inn the reception came out to the gate, but refused to open it because the gate apparently suppose to be closed between 1-3 o clock....despite lots of arguing and shouting (she only spoke german) the gate stayed closed until 3 p.m . 'Fu#@ this, we are not paying to stay inn a DDR prison camp...expensive as well! Prepared to leave, but had to wait for a guy to open a new padlock, this time to our caravan power cable! Finally, after manouvrering the caravan down the narrow road again to the gate for check out, they did not accept Visa cards!!”
