“Cracking site. Very peaceful. Ile de re is a cyclists paradise with cycle tracks all over the island and feels very safe. Site is well laid out with a pool and bar although this was closed during our stay. Would definitely visit again. We stayed on a privilege pitch with kitchen shower and table. A first for us a treat that was worth while and would do again in the future”

Unfortunately we are not able to start the trip and Camping La Tour des Prises will not provide any refunds even though there are still 8 months until the date. Of course it would be ok to retain a cancellation fee. That's how you can scare away customers... We know it differently. It's a shame that it's handled so poorly.”

The inside pool also could be cleaner and the restaurant food quality and quantities could be improved for its 5 star status. Luxury is definitely not guaranteed here. “Nice camping that is part of a larger chain across France. This gives them facilities that other small campings cannot offer. There is a group of staff providing entertainment for kids and adults. Well kept grounds and pool area and even lifeguard duties. Great for when travelling with small kids. Mobile homes are small and tight but adequate. Enough storage space to stow everything away. A water kettle would be nice for tea or making hot water quickly when needed. Lack of a dishwasher is a downside but manageable. The grounds are old and offer plenty of shade for the hit Summer sun ☀️ The bar/cafe on the terrain is nice and offers good comfort food when needed. Good service ! The terrace has enough seats and a covered area for when the weather is wet. Pool is large and the water playground for kids is wonderful 👍 great for kids up to 10 yrs. There is even a heated sauna for guests! 🏅 by the exit there is also a normal playground and there is a play area with bouncy castle and play pen as well as table tennis. No fire allowed on grounds but the Faculty buildings all have a shared BBQ to use! There is a larger central one-way street that goes around with small cul de sacs for groups of dwellings.”

“We arrived before 12, and the notice on the door said the office was open until 12.30, and reopening at 2pm. The woman in the office came out and said she couldn't deal with us and we had to come back at 2pm! So, with our caravan we had to park in a dodgy looking rough space for 2 hours. On returning at 2.05pm the same woman is at her desk. Immediately she tells me I'll have to wait because she is doing something. So I waited and finally she had time to check us in. Not impressed as the campsite was half empty and checking is in took her 2 minutes at the most. Not welcoming and passive aggressive staff isn't very good. Other than that the site had hard standing, though muddy because of all the rain. Electric, water, chemical and garbage dump. Outside washing dishes area. Clean, warm showers with hot water. The other thing is if you had a dog you were supposed to only let it poo outside the site. That's a laugh when 99% of French people don't pick up their dogs poo and our French neighbours in the campsite just opened their motorhome door to let their dog out off the leash and it had a poo right next to someone else's campervan. Not impressed with the campsite staff but the campsite is fine. The site is close to the Naval plane museum which is very interesting”

“We loved this campsite. Originally booked for 2 nights but extended to a week in October. Big pitches with a personal picnic table and awning, water and electricity on the pitch. Really modern and clean toilet / wash up area . Lovely half open air swimming pool with loungers . Friendly, helpful staff. But all this with an amazing beach within a walking distance from a back gate . Excellent independent restaurant on site with great seafood , and good prices , but book first , very popular with locals. A very happy stay I think we will return . Thank you”

“A nice campsite with good facilities however we had issue with the pitches and the noise. We originally wanted a pitch closer to the beach however the ground was rock so we couldn't peg the tent and had to stay closer to the activities. The pitches were on the smaller side with not much privacy, however the main issue was the very loud entertainment until 11.30pm. With very young children in a tent this was not great for us. If you manage to secure a pitch on the other side of the site this shouldn't be an issue. The best thing is the lovely quiet beach just walking distance from the site.”
