“A great campsite! Loved its location in the trees, a 10 min walk over sand dunes to the beach and right next to the cycle paths into the nearby town. A pleasant 15-20min cycle along cycle paths to St Gilles Croix de Vie which is a lovely harbour town. The facilities were superb - showers, toilets, bar and snack bar were all very modern and nicely decorated. There was an outdoor and indoor pool which were clean and well maintained. My kids loved the football pitch and table tennis. The evening entertainment was fun and all staff were really friendly and helpful. Pitches not huge but big enough, lovely to be in the trees. Would recommend and visit again.”

The crowning glory thou was the pools.large and warm .The reception staff could not have been more helpful evan using their own minibus to take us to horse riding when we could not get a taxi for 6 people. “We had a terrible experience at this campsite and cannot recommend it. First the positive aspects - the pool is beautiful, a good size and clean. However when entering the pool area the shower is not working and footbath is dirty. The pool gets very busy in the afternoons. The bar by the pool is also nice except for the full ashtrays, with a very friendly women serving drinks.The hygiene facilities are old, very basic but sufficiently clean. However, it’s a very big site and there is not an adequate number of facilities. There is access to the beach through locked gates, and the beach itself is quite nice, although there is a lot of seaweed and you can’t really swim at low tide. Dogs are allowed on this beach, but the owners rarely clean up after them. The Wi-fi is terrible. The camp has no lights at night, so it’s extremely dark with a risk of getting lost. Our problems at this site started when we were given a pitch which had been double booked in error. We settled into our space, pitched the tent etc. etc. and had lunch when the other campers turned up. There were numerous empty spaces nearby. However, a man who repeatedly referred to himself as “Le Director” offered no apology and no amicable solution, but instead started shouting and verbally abusing us, demanding that we move. I explained that we had been drinking wine at lunchtime and couldn’t drive, whereupon his aggression increased and he called us alcoholics. I have video footage of this and of him grabbing my phone. He threatened us with physical violence if we did not move, and as he was now upsetting other campers around us we relented, moved all our stuff and drove our van to the pitch that he was insisting upon. Turns out this pitch was totally unsuitable for a vehicle. It had a large trench of loose sand into which my vehicle sank and stuck fast. “Le Director” absolutely refused to take any responsibility. He refused to tow us out or give us any help whatsoever. Throughout his manner was hostile, rude, threatening and extremely aggressive. Luckily we have great breakdown cover, so the matter was resolved quickly and without cost for us. But after such a horrible experience, I won’t be returning and I can only suggest that you avoid it to!”
