“Me and my boyfriend have stayed here twice so far and we plan to continue coming for a long time. We’ve stayed in the wilderness cabin as well as the shady oaks cabin and both were clean, comfortable, well stocked, and just a wonderful place to stay. We didn’t have too much phone reception but they have a huge selection of movies and games available at the main office as well as supplies for a fire, and some other small items you may have forgotten. They also have a very cute little gift shop. Overall the property is beautiful and it’s the perfect driving distance to both matthesson state park (my favorite) as well as starved rock.”

“Daughter loved her week at Camp O and can't wait to go back! We went to Family Camp first and I was so impressed at how warm, enthusiastic, and positive the staff is-and how they all seem so happy to be there! From talking to parents who send their kids to other camps, it seems that many camps are struggling to hire decent staff these days and it affected their kids' experience. I am glad to say that's not the case here. The property is beautiful and the kids seem to have a good mix of activities and free time.”

“Best weekend with family ever! It rained the entire time. The kids played outside 2/3 of the time, we had a fire, made s’mores, went for a hike in the woods, saw some crazy wild animals, the kids fished and got muddy and wet and cold and we had so much food and a very good time was had by all!!! No drama, just fun! The cabins were clean and had everything we needed except coffee and filters. Even a hotel room has that. We had a front porch and a back porch completely covered and latticed in so we were mostly protected from the weather and sat out there a lot visiting with cousins. Our only cons were: 1)mud. A little more gravel would go a long way 2)Our bedding smelled so strongly of chemical flowers I could barely stand it. My cousins wife slept on the couch with her own blanket and her husbands T shirt over a pillow. No more scent beads needed!!! And yeah, that’s about it. Seriously, we were surprised at how perfect the situation was. We had… 7 cabins in all and we had enough room for everyone to gather and yet separation if needed. The trails were awesome! We would definitely go back! Thank you so much!!!”

“At check in, the woman on duty was less then friendly, seemed bothered that she had to stop looking at her tablet to check us in. Our site was next to the office and outdoor wood stove and there was wood spread out on to our camp site. The water had a foul odor that nearly makes you sick to smell. It was very quiet, lots of guests but very few were out of their campers for the two nights we stayed.”

Country Bend Campground
4.4
( 10 reviews )

3279 Honey Bend Ave, Litchfield, IL 62056, United States

“My family camped here for the Halloween weekend. 🎃 We really enjoyed this campground. There were plenty of things for kids to do; 2 playgrounds, a bounce pad, fishing pond, paddle boat pond, mini golf, swimming pool and plenty of space to run around. The spaces are decent sized. The lay out of where things are is a little confusing. Example: the cabins aren't all in the same location. Some are on one side of the camp ground and others are on the opposite end. The cons to this campground: there seemed to only be one bathroom/ shower house location. The roads are not very bike friendly. The rentable golf carts need repair. Though this campground is on the expensive side you get what you pay for. The bathrooms/ shower were very clean and well stocked. The security was impressive, the property appeared to be very well kept. We appreciated the extra activites offered for the holiday. We will likely visit again.”
