“What a beautiful place. Fairy lights and lanterns on the ceiling and gorgeous wall paper. The staff brilliant. The food very tasty. The salt and chilli ribs super yum. Very kindly provided with extra fortune cookies at the end of the meal and after starters provided with the cute little hand wipes with the Chinese animal years on the packaging. Very much recommend this place and the location is brilliant if you have just been to the zoo especially or are staying in the holiday Inn as we was. Hidden gem 💎 🌟”

“Very busy on a Saturday night. The food did take a little bit too long to arrive but when it did it was spot on. Chicken and corn soup was great. The food was perfectly seasoned and packed full of natural flavours. The dining area is a lovely setting and spotlessly clean. They serve loads of sizzling plate dishes but the ceiling tiles are still brilliant white. Staff were lovely and made every effort to make sure everything was nice. Highly recommend and will be back”

“First visit to this restaurant after a recommendation by friends Arrived without a reservation and the staff couldn’t have been nicer, needed table back in 1hr 20mins and that was fine because service was super quick Food was freshly cooked, hot and quite tasty although we weren’t overly impressed with the quality of the meat in the beef and black bean & the fillet steak Cantonese! Unfortunately I’ve had better many times so probably wouldn’t rush back. Nice enough but I do think there are better Chinese restaurants”

“I usually visit Royal China (not the club location) and have always enjoyed the food there. The menu here is shorter and doesn’t have my favourite dishes. My friend pre ordered the pei pa duck and we all regretted it. It was too dry and not anywhere as good as the roast duck we normally have. The dishes are overpriced for what they are. It seems they spend too much on presentation than actual portion size or taste. The service is also not as good as their other locations. We had to try to flag the server’s attention multiple and some requests went ignored. Just go to their other branches. Also, see photo of blueberry with sweet n sour pork. Just unnecessarily complicated.”

“Beautiful building and well preserved decoration with the Dragon and Phoenix backwall, ideal for wedding banquet. Services were exceptional, especially the manager/owner, very friendly and professional. We were well looked after as its our 1st visit to this restaurant. Dim Sum were traditional HK style just like it how it used to be back in the 1990s, many items are very nice and you won't find anywhere else. Cantonese roast duck is highly recommended, freshly made daily and tasty. Overall, portions are generous and how it should be. My favourite item was the jelly fish, its freshly made and perfectly seasoned and plenty of it on the side of the 3 roasts dish as an added extra. The best jelly fish I have had in the UK. We travelled from Brighton today especially to try the Glutinous Rice Steam Bun, that's hard to find in HK too nowadays, and it's a 10/10. We will definitely be back to try again in the near future. Highly recommended.”

However the restaurant loses a star for the absolute mess of fried rice. It was rice for £3. The Chicken curry sauce was also very grainy like it was made from a can. Overall good! But a little overhyped in my opinion.”

“always a fab place for excellent oriental food. my go to place since schooling days and it has not changed much even food quality. please keep prices constant in this day and age of high cost of living. the roasted meat remains excellent and the duck yummy! had some vegetables to get my othet side of the diet going and ended off with a very good mango and sago dessert. gets crowded so be prepared to queue or go there early before actual dinner time.”

I have dine in before and the service was still good. The food came quick and my boyfriend absolutely loved it. The prices are reasonably good. “So surely when you take a booking of 19 people 13 of them being children.1 having massive dietary requirements which he can’t eat all stated on booking, you would think they would no this when we arrived. No they never the person who couldn’t eat was told to sit in the bar. So when addressed was allowed to sit with our table but in there own language was told to watch his every single move, to make sure he wasn’t eating. Then we was told to be quite not once but three times we wasn’t being over noisy there was a lot of us. Then we get to the food I can’t tell you enough how we will never return here the food was absolutely awful. In many ways dried out wet sloppy also most of it was cold. For the money we spent we was treated disgusted also. The toilets were disgusting very poor hygiene. If you want to visit a Chinese buffet I would give this place a miss. The staff do not make you feel welcome and the food is a very poor standers. Such ashame as was for a birthday.”
