I appreciate the positive experience he provided to a newbie car buyer like myself. However, it's a sad and tired experience with the financial services manager, and later also involved sale manager. I‘m not blaming anyone here but I do feel bad and exhausted, after all the time and efforts spent on these conversations, I still got ‘surprise’ on the day of picking up car reviewing the contract. I hope to share 2 suggestions with other newbie car buyers before you get into these conversations: 1. Warranty/Service Details: It's beneficial for newbie car buyers to do their own research before engaging in the discussion and signing any paper, for the reason that there are a lot of details are important, long conversations with unfamiliar terms can be overwhelming, and the finance service manager may not have the time/patience to thoroughly go through the details of the warranty and service plans being offered. 2. Verbal Agreement: Verbal agreement might have a gap between what buyers perceive they are paying/getting and the actual price they are paying/rebate in the future. So it's crucial for buyers to carefully review and verify terms before making any commitments. Unfortunately, I encountered challenges during the details discussions through verbal communication. While attempting to address my inquiries through written emails, I was redirected to phone calls for clarifications. Consequently, upon reviewing the contract with excitement as I prepared to pick up my car, I discovered gap between what I thought we have agreed over the phone and what was documented in the contract. And I was told it’s too late to make any amendment on the warranty part of the contract, even though I’m willing to delay my pick up date. I took this experience as a lesson and every lesson comes with a price.”

“We have a 2020 Subaru Impreza that had a collapsing roof issue due to no fault of our own which required a long wait for parts and very invasive repair that compromises the structural integrity of our car. We were not happy this had to be done but was the only option Subaru gave us. After the repair which took much longer than we had been told, the car had dents and a bad paint job with scratches. We had to reject the return of the vehicle multiple times for the same issue before it was fixed. Then when we had a bad rain storm the roof started leaking which never happened before. Again waited much longer then was promised to get the car back, but had to reject the return again as the top trim wasn’t installed properly. Then when we got it back the second time the trunk didn’t open properly, they say is coincidence even though never had an issue before this and the roof still leaks. After another repair for the leak we got the car back and now the sunroof is heavily leaking in a different area. Subaru has had our car for four months since June for repairs, our car has had invasive repairs that impacts the structural integrity of the car, and now potentially water damage after over months of water leaking in when it rains. And the issue is still not resolved. Also, most of the time we get the car back the car isn’t fixed or has new issues that were not there before. Went from loving and telling everyone how amazing our Subaru was to a horror story and complete loss of faith in both the car and the company.”
