“2 hour maximum policy is crazy. The entire night was filled with fine print. Asun was not giving asun and the meat in the stew was laughable. They didn’t have suya which was a let down. Drinks were super weak. We ended up getting shots and chasing them with the cocktails. Staff was kind. Music was okay. But overall it was a letdown for a Friday night during carnival weekend.”

“This was our favorite place to eat breakfast, we came all the way from big bear to eat here regularly. “Decided to stop by to grab some lunch. It’s a pretty clean and well-maintained restaurant where they’re selling spices from Jamaica and other things. Placed to go order for jerk chicken, rice and peas, cabbage, and some plantains. Overall the jerk chicken was really good and juicy so I appreciated that. The rice and peas are the usual for every Jamaican restaurant. The cabbage was okay. The lady that took my order was really nice.”

“My boyfriend and I tried Kelly’s for the first time today and WOW! We were so impressed. We are quite the foodies and love to try new things and this place definitely falls into my top 10. We shared a large plate of jerk wings which were perfectly spicy and juicy and fell right off the bone. The rice was spiced and delicious and covered in jerk chicken gravy. The Mac n cheese was also amazing. The corn bread was so moist and sweet it was almost like cake! I’ll definitely be back and encourage everyone to try this place out.”

We had the ceviche, mojo fish, curry wagyu, roti, and sweet plantains. Took a black cake to go. Everything was mouth-watering good. The chef came by and chatted with us for a few minutes which was the cherry on top. We’ll be back!!! The music was a vibe, too.”

“I visited Trez Wine Bar on the recommendation of a friend who joined me for the evening. It was my first time at this establishment, and my friend had praised the ambiance. Upon arrival, the place was dimly lit, and a DJ was playing music, setting the mood. My friend had already ordered gumbo before my arrival, and we decided to take advantage of their happy hour specials. I opted for the Brussels sprouts and a side salad, ordering two servings of each, all of which turned out to be delicious. I chose not to have any meat in my order. While the gumbo was good, it's worth noting that they don't include pork in their recipe. The owner, who also served as our bartender and hostess, came to take our order. However, the DJ's loud music made it difficult for us to hear each other. I have some hearing impairment on my right side, and my friend was seated on my right, making it a challenge to carry on a conversation. We politely asked the owner if we could move away from the speakers to reduce the noise, but unfortunately, it didn't make much of a difference. The restaurant had reserved plaques on some tables, but they remained unoccupied throughout our two-hour stay. Despite the excessive music volume, I did appreciate the music selection. The small size of the venue amplified the loudness of the music, which was my only major concern. Nevertheless, I would consider returning to Trez Wine Bar, although I was slightly irked by the automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, which seems to be a common practice in Houston. It would be helpful if they informed customers about this upfront to avoid double-tipping. Nonetheless, the brussels sprouts and salad were so delightful that I'm looking forward to another visit.”

“My friend used to work here so I wanted to try it. The owner, Pam, was super nice and happy to chat when I got there (see our selfie). And the food!! I never had Caribbean before, but after this it is one of my favorite cuisines 🤩 I ate the jerk chicken sandwich on coconut fried bread, with cassava pone cake for dessert. The spices of the jerk chicken were incredible. It was not just "hot" spicy, but also warm like cinnamon and wonderfully rich. This was such a treat and I just hope more folks will come by to enjoy it 🤍”

“Mizu is hands down the best sushi place in Winston Salem. Their soups are excellent- miso, clear onion or seafood soup. The appetizers are delicious. Kani Salad is the best version I’ve ever had. Calamari is also a good choice. The hibachi dishes are great. Much higher quality than the other Japanese restaurants in town. The best choices on the menu is by far the sushi. The fish is fresh, the rolls are unique. You can’t go wrong with any of it. Their speciality sashimi like the uni and octopus are also very good. You won’t be disappointed by Mizu as your regular sushi place.”
