Jamaica Patty Co.
4.5
( 8 reviews )

26 New Row, London WC2N 4LA, United Kingdom

“Popped into this Jamaican Patty store because I couldn’t resist when walking by. Ordered the spicy been and jerk chicken patty. The crust was so flaky and the filling hit the spot. Perfect amount of spice and flavor and plus it had a lot of filling which I loved. The two ladies were so kind and friendly. It’s a small place to just hop in and get take away.”

“Lovely place to eat, not massive portions of food but very delicious. Cooked to perfection for our small group of diners. Prices about average for London and drinks the same. Love our waitress/ server Joanne from the Dominican Republic she is so lovely and friendly and can't do enough for you. Lovely little restaurant which is South African food. 😀”

“Classy afternoon tea experience with unlimited sandwich and tea refills! Service was phenomenal from the time we first entered the hotel. We were warmly greeted, our coats were taken from us, and we were escorted to our table where they had set up stands for our purses so they wouldn't touch the floor. My friend and I both ordered the red dragon tea, which is delicious and I highly recommend! They started us off with the 4 sandwiches, of which my favorite was the beef sandwich. My friend doesn't eat beef or shellfish and was able to request doubles of the cucumber and avocado sandwiches and refills of this as well. We were able to get several sandwich refills before moving on to the scones and desserts. The cheese scones were not my favorite, but I did enjoy the scones that were served at the tea's conclusion. My favorites were the mission fig compote, coffee and orange delice, and cheesecake to share, which we could barely eat since we were so full. For our second round of teas, I got the organic jade sword and my friend got the peppermint tea. Would not recommend the peppermint since the tea had a lot of tiny tea leaves in it that were too small for the strainer to catch. Overall wonderful experience and highly recommend!”

“I attended cottons for their New Year’s Eve event. The food took forever to arrive! When our starters came, one plate of prawns was served cold and returned back TWICE for the same reason! the manager, seemed to get frustrated with us and when she brought the food out a second time she placed it on the table and said thank you sarcastically. Thank you for what? Our mains were terrible. I ordered the pork belly which was overdone and burnt. The rice came with clumps of burnt rice which had no flavour. My friends salmon was so overcooked. I had a crème brulee for dessert which was a joke. It was more like a panacotta. My five year old could have given a better attempt at the presentation. Big fat joke. As an establishment do better. You wouldn’t be happy receiving a service like this, so don’t get annoyed at us for us being upset with this poor quality of food. I ended the night with Mc Donald’s and I can honestly say it was better than what I ate at cottons. Me and my friends deserve a refund. We didn’t even receive the Prosecco we were supposed to receive at midnight.”

“Very bad customer service, called to complain about not been any meat in the soup and one of the lady response was that she personally added meat when clearly there was not even one piece just bones. The lady i spoke too was very rude with a bad attitude arguing with me and making me feel like a liar, like i have time to be lying about £4 soup kmt after spending £41 in total. The saddest thing was that i over heard her colleagues telling her that she should just say to me that they will give me something next time; it’s so shameful how she reacted they need to get rid of that one lady with attitude before she brings the business down.”

“This is our second time ordering and unfortunately the last Not only were we sent wrong items, we received burnt food. The curry goat was 80% bones and coleslaw portion wasn’t great. Extremely disappointing”

“We had our team building evening at Notting hill - it was fantastic. The 2-for1 cocktails were amazing! The food was delicious - full of flavour and beautifully presented, with piping hot food. We will certainly arrange another staff event in the near future.”

“Pretty overpriced for the quality. I tried the loaded fried BBQ jerk dumpling burger which cost over £10. The dumpling and chicken had clearly been reheated, not cooked to order, because they were served just a couple minutes after ordering. There were just a couple small strips of dry chicken breast dressed in far too sweet BBQ sauce; maybe the normal Jerk burger would be better.”

“Someone told me about this place because tru flavours was closed which was disappointing for me. So pop in and order a peppersteak and white rice and knew it wasn't the one as it had a lot of sauce around the dish, anyway went back to my van and started to tuck in but had to go back in the shop as the rice was hot but the peppersteak was cold. I ask the lady behind the counter to re heat the dish again but didn't enjoy but I still had it because I came all that way and was feeling hungry. Some people might be thinking why didn't I check that tru flavours was open but online it was saying that it was open but for some reason was closed when I pull up to the shop. The drink you can see in the photo was peanut punch.”

“Delicious vegan food + friendly service! When I arrived they only had a few options left (so make sure you get there early to get what you want!) but thankfully all the options they had seem fantastic ("That's the problem - everything's great!" said the woman who worked there.) The man said he had rarely seen a large portion demolished in the way I had done, but with food so tasty you couldn't help but eat it all! Will definitely be going again.”

“My 1st experience at a Nigerian restaurant.....what a surprise!! Very nice food, well made and adequately priced, with generous portions. Ordered ahead so our meals were more or less ready as expected. Service all done with a friendly smile, with no rush for us to leave. Being as English as I am, I chose a mildly spiced dish which was very, very tasty indeed. I'd only say, if the menu could be clarified a bit, it'd be a good help in ordering. Other than that, highly recommended.”
