“Our family has been coming here every week for almost seven years . Spacious, hygienic, aesthetic , and most of all, the heated pool all year long ! The centre has a friendly and effective management team and staff . Initially there was a senior staff who’s very racist towards non-Caucasian kids and got complained by quite a few parents. The centre dealt with the complaints immediately. After a thorough investigation the senior staff was removed for good. If not because we have relocated we would have still been here every week . They have set the bar high that I still haven’t found another place even match Ian Thorpe . I guess we will still be coming back for casual play . To be in compliance with their photo policy around kids and leisure pool no photo was taken around the other 2 pools . Strongly recommended.”

“In the 1980s my parents sent me to a swimming school very similar to Col Jones. As a result, I'm an excellent swimmer, and in fact have my own coaching certificate. When I had kids I discovered that it's impossible to get your own kids to listen to you, So we sent both of them to aquatic centres for lessons. $10,000 later ( That's not a joke) neither kid could swim across the pool without a serious risk of drowning. In desperation we sent them to Col Jones. Within a term both of them were swimming well and non-stop. This swimming school has an extremely high standard of teaching, with excellent methods, and concentration on repetitive skill building and drills to ensure your kid is going to be able to swim. Cannot recommend them highly enough. The only downside is that it's a bit far away from a coffee shop, but there is some suspicious construction going on there this morning that looks like they may be rectifying that. My only regret is that I have only five stars to give. (In winter, wear a coat that can handle moisture and maybe a hat, because the roof drips cold condensation - heated pool, cold roof, it's gonna happen, laws of thermodynamics/precipitation type thingy- and a droplet of icy water down the back of your neck is no joke. )”

A little run down, especially outside (which looks a little like somewhere in Harlem - why is there barbed wire on the fence?). Inside is OK, but needs a little more love. No problems, and the equipment seems well maintained. Needs more balls. If it was busy, I don't think there would have been enough balls for everyone, especially larger sizes.”

“I swim here every Saturday for 2 hours in the highest squads class and it’s great! The coaches are very good and help you to improve your skills. There are many levels of swimming classes from ages 0-99. The staff are all well trained and friendly. There are two pools, one small, learn to swim pool and a larger, 5 lane, 25 metre pool. Both pools are heated. There are classes every day of the week and aside from swimming, there is a gym and squash courts in the same building. The parking lot is big, but can often get a bit jammed up with cars as it’s quite narrow, but there are always parking spots down the bottom. There are bathrooms and change rooms for both males and females and there are showers too. The staff at the front desk are very kind and easy to talk to, when arranging payment and classes. Overall, I’m giving it 5 stars because it’s a great community and small, but welcoming fitness centre.”

It was definitely the music/games that topped it for me though and the fact that I even got to pick up a few new skills from the staff whilst I was there. “Very disappointed with our visit today. The lady that served us was quite rude when we didn't want to purchase the 'custom' socks for our toddler as he already had grip socks on. Said that we would need to purchase in order for him to jump, we done so reluctantly to only find many of the other kids/ toddlers and adults wearing normal socks. No supervision at all, which is very much needed, especially with older kids (sign not clear on age limit) jumping in the top area. One of the areas was shut off, but still paying top price. Massive safety hazard in the kids area (up top) The pads kept sliding revealing the springs, my partner tried multiple times to fix them, but the Velcro on the back was too worn. There is no space to jump as the place is too packed, and people letting their toddlers crawl around in the (bottom area) for kids over 7. And to top it off the toilets were absolutely FILTHY! They looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time! Will not be returning.”

We came on a 40°C morning expecting it to be packed but it wasn’t too busy. There is plenty of shade from covered seating and a long covered grandstand too which is great.”
