“Brilliant day out with friends & kids of all ages. Despite a wet day there was loads to do and explore. The small kids loved it and so did the big kids in the group. Nice activity sheet for the kids and a finders badge at the end. The food we purchased was very nice and reasonably priced. Would definitely go back.”

Mount Ephraim Gardens, Staple St, Faversham ME13 9TX, United Kingdom

“Great gardens. Mixture of open spaces , rose gardens, an arbouritum, , a sort of maze ( called mis maze ) a lake and some ponds. Was hot on the day we visited, so the benches under the shade of the trees was quite welcoming. Stopped for a bite to eat and a cuppa , which was nice. Also lots of places to have a picnic And on the way out they had a few shelves full of plants. Wasn't too busy as we went on Sunday and plenty of parking. For lovers of gardens I would recommend.”

East Anglian Railway Museum

( 16 reviews )

Station Rd, Wakes Colne, Colchester CO6 2DS, United Kingdom

“Lovely museum with a unique collection of steam and diesel locomotives and a wide variety of rolling stock. My favourite is the Class 317 DTSO! There are plenty of well-organised events throughout the year, catering for families and rail enthusiasts alike! There is also a miniature railway on site that is operated on certain days and a model railway layout in the Thompson Building. The staff and volunteers are very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend!”

Rural Life Living Museum
4.6
( 8 reviews )

The Reeds Rd, Tilford, Farnham GU10 2DL, United Kingdom

“Fascinating working museum with a wide variety of things to see indoors and out. Exhibits include an operational Wealden iron furnace, reproductions of traditional shops, post war prefab house, cycle workshop, cricket pavilion and much more besides. There's also a working narrow gauge railway providing short rides for an additional charge. There's good signage around the site, and guides on hand to provide more detail and answer questions. Standard ticket prices seemed like good value at £10.75 for adults, £7.75 for children when we visited. Facilities include free on-site parking, a café serving refreshments and lunches, a gift shop and toilets. Dogs on leads are welcome, and opening times are 10:00 - 16:00 between Thursday and Monday. The museum is closed between December 23rd and January 21st. Various events take place throughout the year - we attended the Dennis Vehicle Extravaganza in June 2023 and saw a great selection of vintage, classic and modern buses, fire appliances and cars. Please note the later photos were from this event and these vehicles aren't usually kept at the museum.”

Armagh Observatory And Planetarium

College Hill, Armagh BT61 9DB, United Kingdom

“We have dunsink observatory on our doorstep and came up to here for a change of celestial viewings. We loved the exhibition centre lots of wonderful display pictures models interactive screens. Sensory room also was fun and the other room with space and environment. We forgot to go to the build a rocket room but should also mention the room. We viewed our solar system in the dome and it was brilliant show I read some other reviews complaining about their necks 😆 we sat in the middle row and no one from 6 to 80 had issue as the seats are comfy and reclined to an angle for viewing that's how you watch the dome show the main features are in front of your eyes all the time if your rubber necking your missing the main viewing FYI Staff were brilliant and friendly I'd also like to say I was impressed with our show guide especially when she spoke of hopefully some type of life on some of the planets whether it was a flower a fish etc cause I believe there's life beyond otherwise its a waste of space. We had a lovely stroll around the grounds on a frosty day and loved it. I'd recommend to all ages to come visit it gets minds buzzing and open thinking and could inspire the next galileo astronaut astro physicists etc. Great space themed giftshop also at the entrance. We will defo be back again thank you for a lovely few hour's to imagine possibilities beyond.”

Dinosaurland Fossil Museum
4.5
( 16 reviews )
Open until 04:00 PM

Coombe St, Lyme Regis DT7 3PY, United Kingdom

“What an incredible place. A proper old fashioned independent museum hidden off the main drag in Lyme Regis. Worth a visit with children of any age. The labour of love and ongoing project of Steve and Jenny Davies, this absolute treasure trove gives you history, palaeontology, zoology, natural history and dinosaurs aplenty. The most amazing collection of fossils from nearby and all over the world. The owner is full of information and passion and can answer any question you have with fascinating stories. Go visit and support this fantastic museum.”

Rascals Party & Play Centre
4.4
( 16 reviews )
Open until 06:00 PM

Capital Trade Park, Unit 4, Walton-le-Dale, Preston PR5 4AR, United Kingdom

“Brought our children and my sisters children here for some indoor fun on a rainy day in the summer holidays. The place is quite big with all different sections including a big slide and a little electric quad track and even a football area upstairs. You can buy tokens for the quads at reception (and can pay on card for this - better than needing a £1 coin as you usually do for these in other places). There's an area for toddlers and it has loads of bouncers to take to the tables if you wanted to sit with a coffee while playing with your baby. Toddler/baby area itself is quite good too, has a little slide and climbing sections and also has a little sensory area for the younger babies too. Overall, the kids (18m, 5y, 5y & 7y) all had a great time! We will be coming back more regularly now :)”

“We (two seniors) found the Farming museum very interesting, especially the section about the Ladies Army. We were not allowed into all the areas of the park, as there were active classes with school children in these areas. Nonetheless we enjoyed our stay immensely. The cafe was unexpectedly good and the staff was most friendly.”

Shipley Glen Tramway

Prod Ln, Baildon, Shipley BD17 5BN, United Kingdom

“This was a fantastic attraction to ride, with cheap journey tickets and staff readily available to buy them! The tram is pulled up a glorious route driverless through the trees which has Christmas lights during winter, accompanied by decorations like a vintage wheelbarrow on the platforms. Last station has a mini exhibition showing the history of the tramway that was interesting, even shown with an old sign as the Tram Stop!”

“Lovely place to visit! We didn't explore as much as we'd like as we got there late in the day but the grounds are lovely and there is a nice little wooden play area along with a informative interactive museum. The best part..... it's free!! No entry fee, no parking fee, no need to book! We will be going back again to explore more.”

“Set up to paint here for a birthday party. Noticed right away how awesome the jungle decor was throughout, staff wear safari worker uniforms and are very much in character. Parties are organised over a tannoy for ease and seem very well put together. If my little ones were young again I'd have definitely booked this place.”

Castaway Play

( 8 reviews )
Closed until 09:00 AM

71 Moss Rd, Astbury, Congleton CW12 3BP, United Kingdom

“We had an absolutely fantastic time at the SEN session and we will definitely be back, the photos don't do this place justice, they have some videos on their Facebook that show more, but if you have kids you need to visit here ! The staff are all amazing with the kids and everything is lovely and clean, the building just goes on and on and gets better all the time. The only thing it's missing is an accessible toilet. They do have an adult size changing table in the corridor that you can lock the door to, but there is no lift etc. Also if your child needs help to get onto /balance on the toilet, etc, you may struggle a fair bit. Take spare clothing as they have a large sandpit and a panning for gold area so it might get messy 😀”
