“My friend and I arrived to the center at the start of a tornado warning. The center made sure everybody was safe by sheltering in place with good communication throughout, letting us know the status of the tours. Our tour guide, Bob, did a fantastic job keeping us out of the weather and showing us the ins and outs of the facilities where the Olympians train. He was very knowledgeable, entertaining and flexible. We even saw some Karate sessions! Highly recommend.”

“Although I’m not a kid, I had a lot of fun here. Hop up in the big red Mack truck and spin the wheel and you’ll get why this place is a delight. There’s a lot to read—consider it a buffet and take home at least one new piece of knowledge. For me, it was learning about the fireman’s pole and safety nets. Loved walking around the original fire house and seeing the lockers upstairs and all the trucks and equipment downstairs. Thanks for a fun visit!”

“A very good museum to visit if you're new to Boulder as a resident or just visiting. The permanent exhibit outlines all the key components of Boulder history from the American Indian influence to the artistic, scientific, and outdoor related activities. The temporary exhibit of the Hispanic influence is excellent, and portions of which should be incorporated in the permanent exhibit. A number of areas will interest the kids, so bring them along! More recently, a great new exhibit that outlines the contributions of multiple black Coloradans. Definitely a must see!”

“We stopped in here when visiting Golden, as we always like to check out the town’s visitor center and/or museum when we are in a new town. We’ve been to dozens of similar venues, but this one was one of the better we’ve experienced, especially for a town the size of Golden. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly, asked repeatedly if we wanted any more info, and were regaled with various local anecdotes by the staff and volunteers. The exhibits were quite well done and very interesting. We especially liked looking at the Holland House exhibit, including checking out the old menus, as well as walking through the outdoor trail on the river.”
