4th Floor, Forum Courtyard, 10/3, Elgin Rd, Kolkata, West Bengal 700020, India

“On an August 2023 weekend, decided to dine at Royal China, attracted by its regal ambiance. However, the grandeur of the decor didn't quite match the food quality. Our order included: 1. Spare Pork Ribs in Black Pepper Sauce: Although the meat was tender, it had an off-putting fishy smell. Unfortunately, the flavor didn't live up to expectations. 2. Seafood Dumpling with Ginger and Chili Oil: While the taste was good, the portion size seemed disproportionate to the price. Three tiny pieces felt insufficient. 3. Roast Pork Cheung Fun: The sweetness of the roasted pork was overwhelming, and the texture of the noodle didn't quite hit the mark for Cheung Fun. 4. Flaming Prawn in Superior Sauce: On a positive note, the prawns were sizable, fresh, and had a delightful taste. Definitely worth a try. 5. Crabmeat and Egg White Fried Rice: Another dish that stood out positively, recommended for its taste. We also tried some drinks: 1. Gimlet: A refreshing gin-based cocktail that was quite enjoyable. 2. Negroni: For those who don't appreciate strong, bitter tastes in drinks, like myself, this might not be the best choice due to its intense bitterness. 3. Salted Fresh Lime Soda. We opted to pay using Zomato after booking through Easy Diner, which led to a bit of confusion during payment. There wasn't clear information about the incompatibility of discounts from both platforms, resulting in some back and forth. Although the issue was resolved after we paid back the amount discounted, it left a sour taste due to the lack of upfront clarity. Despite the mixed experience, I believe it might have been an off day. I'm open to giving Royal China another chance to try different dishes in the future. Stay tuned for an updated review!”

“The food was absolutely delicious, but if your spice tolerance is low please don't try the drums of heaven from starter platter. Everything else was too good. It's a complete value for money place.”

“It was my anniversary cum Birthday Dinner.. Chinoiserie offers more than the food. They ensure you make memories... Dinner undoubtedly is amazing when it comes to the taste...but their service levels are class apart. I would especially like to appreciate Mr.Ratan for his outstanding hospitality and his proactive recommendations with some of dishes! We landed up spending about 10k for a dinner for 4.. I still can't get over the mouth watering taste.... yum!! Most importantly, it's the overall experience that matters...ranging from the atmosphere to the hospitality to the food....everything was best in class! Taj knows to make special moments SPECIAL with their little gestures! Will be waiting to go back to Chinoiserie soon again!..It's fine dining in the true sense❤🧡”

“The place is spectacular. One should come during the day to witness the river view point with amazing surroundings. We went when it was dark, but still the lightings, ambience and the soothing sound of Torsa river made up for it. For snacks, their veg pakora was awesome.”

The quality of the food was good, the quality and the quantity was impressive according to the price, the staff were very cordial and well behaved, service was promoted but the most impressive thing is the Atmosphere of the place, the location is just on the bank of river Ganges and very close to nature. N. 6, Surendra Nath Banerjee Road, New Market Area, Dharmatala, Taltala, Kolkata, West Bengal 700013, India

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at the exquisite Chinese restaurant, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the elegant ambiance, warm hospitality, and enticing aromas wafting through the air. The menu was an extensive showcase of authentic Chinese cuisine, featuring a delightful array of dishes from various regions of China. The vast selection left me spoiled for choice, but the attentive staff was more than happy to guide me through the culinary journey. To begin my adventure, I opted for the traditional hot and sour soup, which perfectly balanced tanginess and spiciness. The rich flavors and the freshness of the ingredients instantly transported me to the streets of Beijing. The attention to detail in presentation was evident, as each dish was meticulously crafted and served with elegance. For the main course, I decided to explore the Sichuan region's fiery flavors. The mapo tofu dish was a revelation, with its silky tofu enveloped in a mouthwatering blend of spicy and numbing Sichuan peppercorns. The Kung Pao chicken, with its tender chunks of chicken, crunchy peanuts, and the subtle hint of sweetness, was another delightful dish that kept my taste buds dancing. The highlight of the evening was the Peking duck, a dish renowned for its meticulous preparation and succulent taste. The crispy, lacquered skin crackled as I took my first bite, revealing succulent and flavorful meat within. The accompanying steamed pancakes, scallions, and hoisin sauce allowed me to create the perfect duck wrap, a symphony of textures and flavors. To complete this unforgettable feast, I indulged in a selection of delicate Chinese desserts. The silky mango pudding and the fragrant osmanthus jelly were delightful treats that provided a sweet and refreshing ending to the meal. Throughout the evening, the staff displayed exceptional professionalism and knowledge, ensuring that every aspect of my dining experience was flawless. Their genuine passion for Chinese cuisine was evident in their enthusiastic explanations and willingness to cater to my preferences. This restaurant is a haven for food lovers, where traditional Chinese cuisine is celebrated and elevated to new heights. The impeccable service, the meticulous attention to flavors, and the commitment to authenticity make it a culinary gem worth visiting time and time again. I wholeheartedly recommend this Chinese restaurant to anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience. Prepare to embark on a gastronomic journey that will leave you enchanted, with memories and flavors that will linger long after your visit.”
