“So the cost of the tasting menu was around $400 with all of the fees. The food was tailored around the theme of nostalgia and used a lot of local ingredients including seafood and vegetable and fruits. The dining experience is communal but I was cut off from the other party with the floral arrangement which made it a pretty isolating experience. Which could be good or bad for you depending on if you want socialize. The meal started off with a very earthy, floral tea. One of my favorite dishes was the slice of corn whatever you want to call it with caviar. Overall, the food was good. I felt really rushed. The experience is supposed to be two and a half to 3 hours but I was done around 2 hours or less. They also moved me before the dessert course to the upstairs room which was kind of uncomfortable. I thought I was being moved because they overbooked but nobody ever sat in my seat. I would have preferred to stay at the table. I was the only one up there. A lot of the dishes are very heavy. There wasn't much to break it apart in terms of something light or acidic. There was just a slice of peach during the duck portion. But then I was really full, plus being kind of rushed, the course after that was wagyu which I couldn't really enjoy because there was no breakup of flavors and well time. The duck breast was very good and then there was a box that come with a duck liver moose and beef jerky and a couple of other things. After the wagyu was the dessert which at least the melon was refreshing and then I did like the strawberry shortcake. The desserts were the weakest part of the menu for me. But overall I just felt rushed and kind of uncomfortable. I guess I expected it to be a bit more how do I put it... Cohesive? Comfortable? I didn't expect any flaws. I didn't love every dish. Do I think it was worth what I paid? I am not sure. Would I go back? I don't think so. I'll also add that I asked a couple of times for the drink menu, but I just got suggestions and didn't realize I would be paying $60 for two drinks on top of the meal. I could have just gotten the wine pairing at that rate. Some things were really good but I think they could have been enjoyed even more if I felt like I had time to savor them. There are a bunch of different servers that come at different times and they do provide a lot of information about each plate, which is great but also, just ease up a little. Part of the atmosphere is part of the food experience and feeling anxious or nervous because of the pacing doesn't really add anything to the experience in my opinion. But overall stuff was pretty friendly. I thought they were a bit stiff on their deliveries sometimes which surprised me as well. But it was a good experience. Something new at least. Have I had tasting courses I enjoyed more for a lot less? Yes.”

“We had a lunch here on Saturday. It was hard to find parking spots in residence area. Arrived around 1:15pm and waited for 15 minutes to get a seat. Over all the food, service and cleanliness are average. Portion sizes are small. ****** Charge more if you pay for the bill by credit card. ****** (read your bills before paying)”

“A mother-daughter duo running this little establishment of 8 counter seats handling all dine-in and take-out orders, pretty impressive! Have always seen a line outside in the past, but I happened to pass by just when they were about to open this time and was really lucky to get in the first round🥳 Sitting at the counter and seeing the food being made right before you was a nice experience, but if you don’t want to wait then getting it to-go or calling ahead (for to-go orders) will drastically cut down your wait time⏱️ I got the Yamo House Noodles with beef and the Samusas. Loved both of it - the flavor, the texture, everything. By the way, it’s a cash-only place, so make sure you have cash on you when you come💵”

“Absolutely excellent! Probably the best vegetarian food I’ve ever had in my life. Everything we had was amazing. Cannot wait to come back and try more. Service was good, however they receive 4 out of 5 for service since they were unwilling to help us seat all 8 of us together, even though it was not busy. Extra napkins would be nice.”

“My girlfriend and I loved our experience at Dumpling House. The fact that ordering food from the web app is fantastic - especially since everyone at a table can add food to the order from their own phones with the given QR code. There was only one person working all the tables; but given that orders were placed through the web app, this allowed them to serve all tables while orders were placed. The server went above and beyond in terms of making sure our glasses were always full, that we had time to look at the menu, and check in to see how we enjoyed our food. She was friendly, kind, and didn’t hover when we made our order through the app. When we got our food, it arrived quick, and in a manner that allowed us to try each dish. Each dish we ordered from the pork dumplings to the fried wontons were amazing and straight from the kitchen. The next time we’re back in San Francisco, we’re coming back here. The ambiance was quiet with calm music, perfect for talking in a group setting. We loved the food, we loved the service, this is my favorite lunch place in the Bay Area.”

“Osmanthus Dim Sum Lounge in San Francisco offers a delightful dining experience that harmoniously blends tradition with modernity. The Mongolian beef is a standout, with its robust flavors and tender meat that melts in your mouth. Complementing this are the spring rolls – crispy on the outside, filled with a perfectly seasoned medley on the inside. Not to be overlooked, the vegetable lo mein is both flavorful and refreshingly light, a testament to the kitchen's knack for balancing taste and texture. A visit to Osmanthus is a journey through authentic Chinese cuisine with a contemporary twist. Highly recommended for both dim sum enthusiasts and culinary explorers alike.”

“Service: The worker was a bit short with us but did offer to give us an extra popsicle since the one we wanted was out of stock after we paid. Atmosphere: The place is small and cute and clean. The door is left open so people come and go and you can definitely people watch if you’re into that. Food: The katsu was honestly all breading and no meat. It was so thin that it felt like I was just eating crisp with nothing else. While I liked the crisp, I would’ve enjoyed some juicy pork meat inside as well. The sauce was good and the rice was good as well. My friend got the bibimbap and she would give it a 7.5/10. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t amazing, the spicy pork in it was really good though! The watermelon popsicle was very cute but taste wise was mid. The shark popsicle was fire and I would definitely get that one again.”

“Probably will be one of my go-to Chinese delivery places now. Every dish was solid. General Tao’s chicken was specifically tasty. Have not had egg foo young in little deep fried patties before so that was a bit odd, but it was still yum. Seafood was generous in the Cantonese chow mein. Thanks for the free sesame balls that was a nice and fun surprise! Will be back!”

“The best roast duck at SF. Juicy but not greasy, soft but with crisp skin. There are two kinds of roast pork. One is pork belly and the other is less fat meat. The photos are the less fat one. They are really juicy, not dry, and mouthful flavors.”

“Small (about 12 tables) restaurant on Taraval. On a Sunday lunchtime, there was a wait of about 15 minutes for a large table. Very busy/popular with a lot of people also doing takeout. Dim sum is very good here with generous serving size and excellent quality. Chow fun had a lot of wok smoky flavor. Service is very pleasant and quick. Dining room is noisy, but enough space between tables. Street parking is not that difficult within a block or so.”

“Came here at 10am on my lunch break right when they opened, very spacious inside with plenty of tables and seating. Was greeted and seated and then I placed my order of Hainanese chicken w/ noodle soup. My order came out in 3-4 minutes which is fast considering that they just opened, it came with a generous bowl of rice noodles with a heap of green onions topped with fried onions and a plate of Hananese whole chicken leg that had a sauce soy sugar and ginger from what I can tell as a dip. The noodles were fresh and the chicken was very tender, for $16 the portion very filling and the food was good quality. Also the staff was very friendly and always had a smile.”
