“A review that has been long overdue. My friend and I have dined here over a dozen times between the 2 of us. Our dining experience gets better with each visit. Despite new staff coming and going with time, the dining experience has remained consistent, which is nothing short of amazing! I did not realize till I arrived home and looked at the bar prix fixe menu that my last wine pairing was forgotten. It still would not deter me from recommending this fine establishment to others. It still remains my favorite restaurant for many reasons. Maybe it is the unpretentious vibe, or the down to earth staff who go above and beyond to ensure your experience is a memorable one. Big shout out to Robert, the GM! He did a great job at making sure all guests were enjoying & satisfied by the end of the meal. This is no easy task! My friend and I vaguely remember our first dining experience at Commis, but we do leave with the same feeling every time; fond memories & full bellies :)”

“We came here for the second time to try their new mushrooms dishes. Last time when they first lauched the Yunnan serials food, we were surprised by the flavor and creativity however this time the new fried rice and steamed egg custard taste a bit flavorless. Don’t get me wrong because I still think they are good food but the mushrooms fragrance was not strong enough and didn’t seep into the other ingredients well enough. There is room for improvement. I still recommend the other Yunnan dishes like simmered rice and potatoes in copper pot, pork fat fried vegetable, mixed mushroom fry with cured meat and the seasonal drink.”

“One of the best Hunan restaurants I have been to. With so many restaurants in the area, we are so happy to have found this gem. Atmosphere is casual and comfortable. Food is fresh, authentic and generous. For the quality of the food, the prices are very reasonable. The owner was friendly, personal and professional. She constantly checked on us to make sure that we had everything we needed. Our meal consisted of five fishes and all met our expectations. My kids who are extremely picky gave this restaurant a 10 out of 10 when I asked them to rate on a scale if 1 being the worst to 10 bring the best. We ate so much and still had left overs. It was such a pleasant experience! Highly recommend this restaurant to all.”

“The food is amazing, particularly for those who enjoy Chinese cuisine. The combination of oil and dry chilies gives each dish a delightful aroma and a distinctive flavor. I am confident that anyone who appreciates Chinese flavors will enjoy it. The unique Indian ingredients, such as cottage cheese and fried ice cream, are definitely worth trying. Additionally, I enjoyed all the drinks, particularly the cocktails. Each order my friends made was exceptional.”

“The dimsum was delicious. You can order from the pushcarts or paper menu. The food came out very fast. The squabs (pictured) were moist with crispy skin. The steamed BBQ pork buns were fluffy, with the filing not having red dye. The pan-fried chive dumplings have a very thin, crispy wrapper with lots of chives. The fish porridge was very good, with the right consistency. However, I would not recommend it for young kids because the chunks of fish have bones. The har gow has crunchy chunks of shrimp with wrapper that does not fall apart. The Portuguese egg tarts have a very flaky shell and right level of sweetness and not great at all. The restaurant's interior was spacious with a nice atmosphere. We got there around 11:30 on a Sunday and waited for only 20 minutes or so for a table for 10. They have plenty of large tables to accommodate big parties. There's ample parking spaces in the parking lot.”

“Very interesting restaurant. Seems to have a lot of authentic Chinese dishes featuring less common parts of animals such as intestines and other organs. I stuck to the "American Chinese" page of the menu. The chicken eggplant was excellent. The braised tofu had a nice taste and interesting variety of mushrooms but was too salty to eat much of. The scallion pancake did not have much taste. Bare bones dinning room. Good service.”

“Love the orange chicken and rangoons. As they have lots of people as this location, the orange chicken remains fresh as they keep cooking new batches every so often. The only downside is that they are kinda slow and seems they could improve on how they organize to pump out orders as fast as possible.”

“The beef chow fun (flat rice noodles) was decent and nothing special, and needed some extra soy sauce for flavor. The seafood pan fried noodles had too much sauce (that didn't have much flavor either) and was extremely soggy and not crispy at all. The restaurant's ambiance during lunch time was a bit dark, as if the owner was saving electricity by not turning on a few interior lights.”
