The Whiskey House

“They’ll serve the higher paying customers before u. We went on our last night in San Diego, had a burnt burger that I ordered medium, wife’s pork chops were dry, Mac and cheese were ok and fries were very hard. Was very surprised that the waiters had zero knowledge of anything, was surprised a wellers was like $40-90 but buffalo trace was $12 for both their kinds. The drink menu is insane but the way it’s all priced is just weird. Some shots cost the whole price of a bottle and more. The thing that made me upset the most was that I ordered a buffalo trace white and a group sat after I ordered next to us and ordered 2 $150 taste of Japan flights. I waited and waited and never got my drink, but here came my waiter with 10 drinks and said they were having a hard time finding the buffalo trace, but they could find the 10 different Japanese whiskies? Overall, terrible experience, if u want whiskey go there, but I spent $240 and I also left a $45 tip for 4 meals 2 apps and 6 drinks to leave upset, don’t go there for the food at all. If u wanna drink whiskey, come here, but the food was just terrible, none of us felt it was worth the price for the food”

“Very fun date night spot. You cook everything, even your burger. Big grill, everyone gathered around. Red light ambiance helps to disguise meat that maybe isn't cooked exactly how you like it. We had a blast. Hot dog was these best. Ribeye not too fatty, just right. Wish we tried the filet, watched others cook theirs and looked amazing.”

“Definitely come for Happy Hour prices on select cocktails and the Happy Hour appetizer menu. We had a party of 5 and ordered many of the appetizers. Some of them were a hit somewhere a miss? Maybe a bit too salty. I personally did the barata salad and it had too much balsamic to the point that all you could taste was the basalmic dressing. Husband got the French onion soup. He said it was good, not the traditional kind that he was expecting. He wouldn't order it again but it was good. The steak kebabs were a hit and the chicken wings were also a favorite. As happy hour was ending live music was starting and it was starting to get more crowded. It's a fun atmosphere. Maybe find a booth a little further away from the live music (which is right near the entrance) if you want to be able to hear your dining companions.”

“Stopped in here for a quick lunch and after a quick search for good places to eat. Located in a shopping plaza that's easily identifiable from the other stores. Wasn't too busy once we arrived but the lunch crowd did start rolling in later. Lots of open space to where you don't feel cramped not too dark in the establishment either. I order the classic cheesesteak with fries and the Old Way Mai Tai. The food came out hot and tasty and the drink was perfect. The waitress was very active and always checked in on us. A great place to visit if you're in the area and need a quick bite.”

“First time here and I lived in San Diego for about 6 years and this is one of the best I've seen in San Diego. They had some really good drinks but I didn't try the food. Next time I go there I will try the food. I would definitely become back over here. Thank you very much for taking care of me..”

“Happy Hour Menu Items Ordered: Ahi Tuna Tiradito Cuban Sandwich Halloumi Fries Margherita Flatbread Marinated Olives Truffle Mac & Cheese Wings Craft Meatball* Edamame Hummus* House Made Orange Ricotta* Whipped Miso Eggplant* Happy Hour Cocktails Ordered: Espresso Manifesto Prickly Rose Queen Bee Spring Fling Glitz n’ Glam* Smoke Show* Everything, I mean EVERYTHING was delicious. Well, one exception was the Whipped Miso Eggplant. It wasn’t bad, I just wouldn’t order it again. Each cocktail was beautiful and tasted equally delicious! The Prickly Rose and Glitz n’ Glam came with specially molded ice cubes in the form of rose and diamond, nice touch! All items with * are dishes and beverages that I personally tried. Craft meatball had a very nice kick of spice that builds. Edamame hummus was creamy and delicious. The puffy chips made the perfect vessel for devouring! House made orange ricotta was probably my fave right next to the meatball. SO GOOD! Don’t sleep on that one, it’s an appetizer-dessert-party dish. As for all the other menu items ordered, everyone at the table raved over everything. Now onto drinks. I was going to order a different cocktail for my second, but that SMOKE SHOW!! If you’re a mezcal drinker, the smoky and sweet balance was on point. Ended up having two of those. I did have a sip of someone’s Glitz n’ Glam who substituted the gin for vodka. The bartender accommodated the liquor swap, and it was a very fresh tasting drink. Not too sweet – just perfect. I’ll make my way around the rest of the cocktail menu on my next visit because I WILL BE BACK!! Special note: we had 2 pups in attendance to our happy hour. Outdoor seating is perfect for anyone bringing their fur babies. Our party of 8 sat under the patio structure and it felt like semi-private dining. This would make a great location for small event or gathering.”

“They say sins are meant to be forgiven, so come prepared to confess one of the 7 sins to enter (reservations are required and they are strict to the 1.5hr reservation). We decided to let fate rule our drinks for the evening and went with the "Risk it All" option (roll 3 dice to determine the cocktail). Mitchell was the bartender for the evening and the delicious sorcery he concocted will make you a glutton for more.”

“This place does not disappoint! We were here about a year ago and went again last night. We were so happy to see that the tables were completely full, the whole time we were there. Drinks are top notch!!! My favorite is the “Liberal”…very boozy 🥃 forward. The service is amazing. Ambience even better. Make reservations and plan to stay for your whole 90 minute time slot allotment. You won’t be disappointed 🤩”

Level 9 Rooftop Bar

“Head on into Hotel Indigo and go straight to take the elevator to the 9th floor. 1 bar and different seating with high tops or a fire pit. The speaker system isnt the best... But $22 total for 2 IPAs and a good view on a Friday night after dinner! Maybe not the first place on our stop but I think it's way cheaper to pregame or chill here first before you go out to gaslamp! Views of the ballpark, library, can't go wrong!”
