1201 Caroline St STE 100, Houston, TX 77002, United States

“Visited here last Saturday evening and while it was practically empty, with maybe 2 other patrons there was an overly obnoxious chick at the end of the bar (I’m guessing friends or coworker of the 2 male bartenders) she was just talking/yelling almost as if to draw attention to herself. Her loudness kinda killed the vibe of the place so we only had 1 and left. The bartender was really cool and helpful though. I really liked this place otherwise and would definitely recommend it if you’re in the area for a good cocktail. We ordered the “Snow on the beach” and “Brown derby” . Both were extremely tasty and well made.”

Johnny's Gold Brick

2518 Yale St, Houston, TX 77008, United States

“Johnny's Gold Brick is your classic neighborhood bar with a little something for everyone. Whether you're a beer aficionado or a cocktail connoisseur, Johnny's got you covered. Their tap list features local brews alongside familiar favorites, but the real stars of the show are the cocktails. The bartenders here are wizards behind the bar, crafting classic concoctions with a twist and inventive new creations that change with the season. Beyond the drinks, Johnny's has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cozy space is decked out with comfy booths, a friendly vibe, and just the right amount of buzz to make it a great place to hang out with friends or meet new people. They also have a killer patio for those sunny Houston days.”

“Charming, cozy cocktail bar. Scented with candles and intimate lighting. Festive music and attentive servers. Great date place! Lovely drinks. I wish my coffee was like the Coffee martini everyday. The spicy watermelon is very refreshing with spicy ending. Check Clarkwood!”

“What a cute little casual bar that is walkable from my cousin’s place! Their food was surprisingly really good. Their truffle fries were the best, and the queso and pretzel was also very tasty. I had their strawberry basil rita was fresh and light. The offer happy hour until 7pm so get there before then if you can!”

“Small but cute little bar. Drinks were pricey but that's expected for cocktails. Bartender was very friendly. Free hot dogs on the specific day I went. Outdoor seating and plenty of parking across the street.”

Coaches Pub

2204 Louisiana St, Houston, TX 77002, United States

“This bar has a cool vibe and a great staff. It's a Good place to go with friends for a drink and good bar food. Lots of big TVs for the games of the day and the chicken wings are nice and crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The sauce and flavor on the Buffalo(not spicy and no flavor) and lemon pepper wings were good, but the spicy dry rub was the best. Wing day is Thursday I recommend you try it.”

2313 Edwards St Suite #200, Houston, TX 77007, United States

“I will not be going back. I was there a few weeks ago with very slow service. The Detroit Lions group is known to be there on Sundays so maybe have more staff? Fast forward to today, I got there over an hour early to get a table. The hostess was not at the desk so I took a table that was not marked reserved. Halfway through the game we are informed the table is reserved and we can't sit there anymore. I hadn't finished eating. I still had my drink that I had only taken like 2 sips of. It was ridiculous, the table was not marked as reserved like other tables were! I will never go back. It was definitely not worth how much my bill was when I left.”

“For those who don't know... Houston daiquiris are basically a frozen slushie with liquor. This place has LOTS of flavors available. I selected the Mimosa daiquri (Octane + Champagne). W/ no extra shots, the $7 drink packed a hell of a punch. at Definitely my new daiquri spot. Great interior design... especially for a daiquiri joint. They have games such as Jenga available too.”

“The serving staff is wonderful. The food is sub-par for the amount of money we pay for each plate. I hope we find a new place for our luncheons for next year.”

Buck Wild Country Dance Club
4.4
( 8 reviews )

1025 W NASA Pkwy, Webster, TX 77598, United States

“First, this reminded me of all the modern guys and gals who I see at work. This review is from my perspective okay., It is based on quite a few visits to Texas' own historical country bars and club visits like a tourist would see, i.e., Billy Bob's Texas in Ft. Worth, Gilley's OG Club in Pasadena, and Gruene Hall in New Braunfels. These three were legendary places on the Texas trail of Fame. Billy Bob's; Touted as the World's largest Honky Tonk, Gilley's, the actual setting for Hollywood's Urban Cowboy movie until the suspected arson fire, to Gruene's Texas oldest dance hall, built in 1878. Buck wild doesn't boast much past a flyer inside it that I'm aware of other than the quaint boast in one spot I found, 20,000sqft - Longest Bar in Tx @125ft. I'll return to review their food menu another time when Im hungry, as I work in the catering industry professionally. And too, from an actual women's visiting viewpoint as my date there. If she'll go there to a very strong twenty something, Bar vibe'. Country dance has evolved into open free style line or two steppin' to music videos played on overhanging large speakers blaring with no clarity. There's no acoustics at all in this room. Only echoing bass fuzz noise. She didn't want to attend tonight, and I'm glad because of the low attendance on a Saturday night. That is what makes this ones presentation. I suppose everyone spent all their money on HLSR tickets. You'll get to see how parents raise their sons and daughters to be in a public setting. And how sad our social gathering strength meter as a collective really is. Even though I don't drink alcohol, not once did a cocktail waitress stop to ask me if she could offer and mention to me anything food or drink wise. And she walked past me at least thirty times. That is a huge fail in my experience. If you are advertising publicly, for adult catering for the parties; food and beverages. The open free style parking lot was similar to Gilley's, with the growing pot holes. Three stars on a Saturday night in 2024.”

“Came here for a friend’s birthday and it’s an older generation atmosphere (like mid 40’ to mid 50’s type). The music was absolutely fun, the DJ plays music and displays the video of that song on a big projection screen as well. There’s pool tables next to other tables where people are standing and sitting so them playing can be in the way of those standing trying to enjoy their time can be irritating but other than that if you like pool, then they have that. They also have some slot machines and darts too. Did not try the food, if they have that.”

“Vibe was great but service from that bar tender was rude like she doesn’t like her job 01/06/2024 Texans vs colts game She was the bar tender on the far left bar Was getting my drinks right Then on one drink I notice the drink tasted flat so I asked her and let her know Her response: OH REALLY GRABS A SPRITE AND PUTS IT IN A CUP AND DRINKS IT AND SAYS TO MY FACE TASTE FINE WITH ME WITH ATTITUDE.. I EVEN OFFER TO BBUY ANOTHER DRINK BECAUSE THAT ONE WAS BAD BUT SHE KEPT GOING WITH THE ATTITUDE.. so I let it be .. Manager check your bartender please Ps still gave her a tip even with the bad service”

Diversion Cocktails

7202 Long Point Rd, Houston, TX 77055, United States

“What an absolutely wild and unanticipated experience - Great and imaginative cocktails with twists. I will say, the exterior of this cocktail bar is VERY strange. Located in what looks like abandoned and gated truck yard, the unassuming bar is lit with a blue neon sign and marked with a wooden door. Upon entering, you’ll find a very eclectic, low lit, intimate bar with back-lit menus and a variety of lounge music playing. The menu is also VERY unique. Descriptions that tell you some ingredient, but only leave you more intrigued / confused. Expect to pay about $18 for the “basic” cocktails and $30-35 for the “experience” cocktails. Well worth the price as these are some of the best I’ve had in my experience with higher end and creative cocktail bars. The Candy Paint was delicious, rum forward, not too sweet and came with a … cinnamon stick. If you know you know. Would recommend even if you discard the cinnamon. The Ceviche was an edible non-meat ceviche like mix of fruits, jelly, and others to make a cocktail “food” item, served with plantains for eating. One of the most unique cocktails I’ve ever had, and certainly memorable, although I am not sure that I’d order again as it was a bit too food forward. Also pictured was the Luau which was NOT like a traditional tiki cocktail. It was smoky and rich and a bit spicy, with a somewhat sweet foam and served with a shortbread cookie. Would recommend if you like smoke and spice. The Espresso martini (not pictured) was clarified, and very very good. TIP - The bathrooms also have Toto Japanese style bidet toilets which are lovely and heated. Excellent bathrooms. Overall, if you enjoy high end cocktail experiences, this might be the best in Houston!”

“Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. The place wasn't crowded, but it took a while for us to get our drinks. The drinks were good, but not too strong. My shrimp and grits were good also. My son said his chicken and waffles were mid, but he did finish them. Lol. Overall, I enjoyed myself. I may go back if I'm invited.”

The Ivy House
4.2
( 8 reviews )

2811 Washington Ave, Houston, TX 77007, United States

“We stopped by the ivy house on a whim as we were looking for a bar and happened to pass it by. They have a dress code that disallows hat, shorts and such but they didn’t actually enforce it as we were dressed pretty casual. It could be that we came pretty early around 8 and only a few customers present. It was happy hour until 9 so we took advantage of it and ordered two espresso martinis. They were delicious. The decor of the place was ivy/floral themed and presented many photo opportunities. It has plenty of seats inside the bar as well as a spacious outdoor space. This place can be a fun New Year’s Eve celebration destination or something like that Valet was $10”

Ez's Liquor Lounge
4.2
( 8 reviews ) $$

3302 White Oak Dr, Houston, TX 77007, United States

“I've given the spot several chances by now and can't say I've ever enjoyed my experience. As another reviewer mentioned, it's a wanna be vibe bar. My friend didn't like his steak so I tried the picnic park snack. 18 dollars for less flavor than a lunchable. Bartenders are mostly aloof. Had potential, hopefully improves.”

“Liked the vibe here. Something between cocktail and dive bar. But definitely fun! They have pool and some other games. 2 floors - downstairs is bar/pub. Upstairs is dance floor with live DJ and outside balcony. They also have food/kitchen open until midnight”
