Top 5 Coffee & Tea in New York City

Pause Cafe
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 07:00 AM

3 Clinton St, New York, NY 10002, United States

“Visited this cafe and had a mixed experience. The coffee was excellent - strong and flavorful, but the shakshuka was disappointing even though it looks good ;( The overall vibe is wonderful, and despite the usual line, it moves quickly. The place is warm and inviting, although the tables are a bit too close together. I'd recommend it for a coffee, but perhaps not for breakfast.”

Zibetto Espresso Bar
4.6
( 8 reviews ) $$
Closed until 08:00 AM

1385 6th Ave, New York, NY 10019, United States

“This dark, poorly decorated, small place serves one of the best espresso drinks I’ve ever tasted. Dark roasted, full bodied packed with hazelnut and brown sugar flavors. Their cappuccinos and cortados are unreal, prepared so skillfully that you just have to order a second one after your first sip. Definitely a Top 3 among the coffees that I’ve tasted in the US.”

La Cabra Bakery
4.7
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 08:00 AM

152 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10003, United States

“Met up with a friend here on a Sunday morning. I did enjoy the coffee lab experience and wished I could've stayed a little longer and/or even see them make the Brazilian roast I ordered. The pastries were delicate. While I did opt for a cardamom bun, I did try the carrot and cheese pastry my friend ordered. The savory and flaky was a really nice touch.”

The Monkey Cup
4.8
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 07:30 AM

1965 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd, New York, NY 10026, United States

“ok... I can't comment on the food yet, but as Arnold would say... "I'll be back." Real chill vibe, nice owner, seemingly happy staff (I don't know for sure, but dude seems genuinely happy to work here). It's a great coffee experience, and more of the eventual change that's been coming to Harlem. Complaining about gentrification is like complaints about the sunrise. You can embrace, enjoy the light, and find ways to grow, or you can long for the restful night to continue. Things they are a changing.”

Charlotte Cafe
4.7

Closed until 07:00 AM

2541 Broadway, New York, NY 10025, United States

“I love this cafe!! I am so happy to have discovered it. It has a very peaceful and humble atmosphere, while still being nice and pleasant. There is a lot of seating and the coffee tastes amazing! They have an abundance of pastries. There is even a bathroom. If you are looking for a coffee shop with space (a rare find on the UWS) come here!”

Bird & Branch
4.7
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 08:00 AM

359 W 45th St, New York, NY 10036, United States

“Sharing one review but I’ve been to Bird & Branch multiple time so these are some of the photos from my various visits here. This is one of my favorite coffee places in NYC - it has a Japanese-fusion inspired menu and the drinks are named after birds. I love the creativity this place has put into their menu. They also rotate the drinks seasonally so the menu stays fresh. Although I don’t have a picture of it I highly recommend the iced passionfruit black tea during the summer -it’s a refreshing drink and not too sweet. The snowy owl and the mockingbird are definitely worth a try during the colder months. Their food menu is also really on point. I love the miso hummus toast -it’s like a vegan caprese toast and it’s delicious. The egg sandwich and the matcha square are also personal favorites of mine. Highly recommend this place!”

Remi Flower & Coffee
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 07:00 AM

906 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10017, United States

“Remi Flower and Coffee is an absolute gem! This place is a sanctuary for the senses. From the moment you step in, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the sight of vibrant blooms greet you. There are plenty tables inside and outside. Their lattes are pure artistry, not only bursting with flavor. They do particular flavors like Rose or Lavender (see picture). And the October touch? They served our lattes in pumpkin cups we brought! A delightful experience that marries taste, ambiance, and personal touch flawlessly.”

Blue Bottle Coffee
4.4
( 8 reviews ) $$
Closed until 07:00 AM

54 W 40th St, New York, NY 10018, United States

“Exponentially one of the better coffee place near Bryant park. Skip all the others which are near to the park, not worth the wait and price. I’ll recommend to get their drip coffee variations. Baristas are friendly but do tend get engrossed in their own world when making coffee. Only negative is their tiny lobby with limited seating space. Hurts in winter but other times you can just grab one on the go and enjoy it at the park.”

Gotan

4.5
( 8 reviews ) $$
Closed until 08:00 AM

130 Franklin St, New York, NY 10013, United States

“Visited Gotan for lunch with a a colleague. The brick interiors add a lot of character to the place and it was a pretty spacious restaurant. We went during lunch so it was a bit crowded. The front desk staff helped me with recommendations, she was pleasant and accommodating. I ordered: 1. Cafe Mocha - 5/5 - it was so warm and comforting, absolutely delicious. 2. Beets, arugula and pesto sandwich (special for the day) - 5/5. Was warm and hearty, bread was perfectly toasted. Absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an option in the area.”

Ground Central Coffee Company
4.4
( 8 reviews ) $$

155 East 52nd Street, 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10022, United States

“Cool coffee shop with plenty of seating. The coffee was good, but the staff was not very friendly. Not mean. Just not friendly. They sell some food and teas. I came here in my search to find a good coffee shop to work in … not for me. It would be great for others but not for me. Why? Music is very loud and the wifi sucks. There is a small room in the back with couches that is quieter but it was hot and your the loud guy if you need to make a call. Now, making calls was not the issue, it was the bad wifi. If you need a coffee shop without wifi that is loud, this place is great. It is quaint and comfy with the couches and the old school look. Space - large with lots of seating Staff - not so friendly Prices - moderate to high Work - they welcome people to work on laptops.”
