“We’re just visiting Charlotte for the weekend and found this place & are so glad we did! The owner was more than accommodating- she explained the menu and even suggested samples before we ordered to make sure we got coffee that we really enjoyed! She went above and beyond to make sure our experience was excellent. They make all of their syrups and even roast their own coffee! The inside has a few tables and does have AC, she does lock the front door though always so just order at the window first and she will give you a table inside if you’d like, or there are lots of spaces outside to sit too! I had the lavender cold brew and it was delicious. My friend who came with got a decaf latte with spiced brown sugar syrup (which was homemade) & that was fantastic too! They also have some Cuban coffee that I would love to give a try too! We didn’t order food, but would’ve gotten a bagel, frittata (only served on weekends), donut, or sandwich. Highly recommend this cozy, welcoming coffee shop!”

“Such a cute spot. Went 3x before leaving this review. Only thing I didn't like the first visit, was how hard the sour dough bread was. I know some people may prefer it, but it was a bit too hard for me. The second time I asked for a soft bagel and it was absolutely delicious. The bakery items are so good!! Loved the coffee too!! Great place!!”

“Great idea for a restaurant that should be fully supported by the community, with decent food and nice atmosphere, but with slow service during busy lunch times (that can be excused as most of the staff are from the rescue mission). I had the New Orleans chicken sandwich with a side of home fries. The sandwich was huge, but was not sauced as expected, since the order was mixed up and they had put the sauce on the side. The staff is being trained so we know going in that service may be slow. Other orders like the French toast were delicious. I will be back to support this restaurant with their hopeful message.”

Creative food menu nothing too heavy. The menu was light enough to snack on while you work without feeling sluggish from a heavy meal.”

“I did a catering order of bagels, lox, cream cheese, etc for a brunch I was having at home. Mark and everyone at Poppy’s is on their game!! I can’t say enough about them! They don’t miss a detail. “The perfect coffee shop for people who want to get some work done. There are tons of outlets!! And single 2 person tables. The place was very airy and open. Chill music in the background. Sadly, they were out of baked goods when I arrived at 1 pm :( but my LATTE!!! I got a brown sugar and rosemary latte, it was the seasonal, thinking i would be adventurous, and it was incredible. There was even a hint of salt on top. Fantastic froth despite being an oat milk latte. Will be returning next time I’m in Charlotte!”
