“If you aspire to build a successful career through this university, it's advisable to reconsider your options. This is not the right university to achieve that. I speak from my own experience. For a more in-depth perspective of my experience here and my observations of this place, you can find detailed insights in my post on 'The Student Room' forum under the thread titled 'Challenging and Long-lasting Experience at Royal Holloway Psychology'.”

University Of Hull

Cottingham Rd, Hull HU6 7RX, United Kingdom

“Now I am at a different uni, I've noticed stark contrasts between my current and previous learning environments. The tone in which my questions were addressed was simply unacceptable. My number one issue is Craven college's Wildlife/Agriculture department aren't careful how they speak to those who are trying their best! I often felt low after emails with further unspecified instructions. The leader of HE, was disgusting for this. They didn't fulfill risk assessments by walking with us as opposed to miles ahead. Another student nearly broke her ankles trying to keep up and my support had a hypoglycemic attack in the middle of a trip. I shouted to the course leader and she couldn't hear me or help me. Is this legal? They were incredibly lucky that I am trained to help in these situations. It's not just feelings, it was eye watering fear, that will stay in my memory forever. Their negligence put both me and my support in a life threatening position, I took her weight to catch up. This may result in legal implications. I have now just left the tutor and her obvious favourite to it. My support was too kind to say anything so I will: the consistent, demeaning way she was spoken to was wrong. It's a hard enough time to be disabled but this rubs rotting dirt in the wound. I know my support was apologised to about a similar occurrence earlier in the year, but that was about a different incident and would be worth revisiting to show fundamental human respect. Peoples' feelings do matter when trying to keep them on a course and I highly appreciate that that was the intention, this primary school playgroundish behaviour was pathetic and I will not tolerate it. I had to put my health and happiness first and leave. The LEADER OF HE/FE, actively engaged in bullying another student's relationship with another person. This displayed such childish, twisted behaviour. Gillian Thom didn't put up prompt, solid, targets and assignment briefs to make the goalposts clear. For example, assignment briefs were often given or updated close to the deadline, making it very hard for students to keep up and feel organised. I would expect this as a minimum on a HE degree. Some academics lack of genuine human empathy and self awareness is absolutely shocking. My current lecturers reminded me that the way me and my support were spoken to and treated is abnormal and deemed wholly unacceptable in academic circles. You simply can't be respected as an academic and treat others the way she did. Respect should work both ways. At another uni, my ideas are encouraged and supported, and it feels amazing to not be taken for granted and put down. I have the peer reviewed, successfully completed, Michigan researched, mycology project; the idea was presented to her, many times, it was ignored. It is being tested and possibly implemented finally by zoology and ecology students. If it's successfully managed, it may have implications nationally. Possibly internationally if it's done well. I took my complaints to the Uni of Hull about the course, and they took it extremely seriously so the course isn't running in the future. The uni of Hull is absolutely pathetic for even allowing a course such as this one continue... I wish all the best for the leader of HE at Craven, and her one student who can tolerate the abuse. But I BEG them to be more empathic towards future students. Even if the worst comes to the worst I will never attend again.”

“I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the admission process at your university. Despite completing all required procedures, paying the fees before the deadline, and fulfilling all credibility and interview requirements, Filling all application sent by you for pre cas , I have not received the necessary CAS for visa purposes. The lack of communication and failure to fulfill your obligations is unacceptable. Furthermore, the Indian team's response has been inadequate, offering only the option to join in the next intake or receive a cashback but who will refund for the guarantor fee and accommodation fee. After completing every criteria from my end your university could not complete your job worst experience”

University Of St Andrews
4.5

St Andrews KY16 9AJ, United Kingdom

“The University of St. Andrews is one of the most beautiful universities and campuses to visit and explore. It is the third oldest university in the English speaking world and the oldest university in Scotland, founded in 1413. Its motto is …”For Ever to be the BEST!” And is it ever! St. Andrews is made up of a variety of different institutions and three colleges. The University of St. Andrews has had several notable attendees including, the Prince and Princess of Wales. The Prince of Wales, Prince William was taught Geology by my next door neighbour in Fife. The town really let Prince William be… and town members did not encourage the paparazzi! The town surrounding the campus has many shops, restaurants, a quaint movie theatre, a Tescos, fish and chippie shops along with some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The university is situated next to the 🥶 North Sea and also next to the Royal and Ancient where GOLF ⛳️ was invented. A little over 10,500 students attend the university and if you’re planning on attending and are accepted, tuition can be in the upwards of £25,000 for overseas students, not including room/boarding. By today’s rates, that’s only $28,762 per semester if you’re from the USA. Not that bad if you think about the expensive tuition in the USA. If you live in Scotland and are Scotland based, you may be able to go to the university for free. Imagine that? I would visit the university and walk on the campus and explore the rich history. Check out the oldest living tree on campus. Afterwards, go to Forgan’s or Balgove Larder - a few of my personal favourites - for tea. Then, walk on St. Andrew’s beach and play the Chariots of Fire on your phone. Don’t take my word for it, visit yourself.”

King's College London
4.1

Strand, London WC2R 2LS, United Kingdom

“This review is about King's College London which is a public research university and located in London. It was adream come true to finally see and visit this place while spending time with family in the UK. With bit research I found that the College is selective, which means in every few hundred few get selected. It’s one of the most prestigious faculties of its kind, it was ranked 6th in the UK. The College is open to tourists, local visitors and students and this is how they make extra money. The place is very old and looks like less maintenance been carried over the years to upgrade & modernize the College. Kings has a particularly distinguished reputation in the humanities, law, the sciences and all the things you see around as you walk is very evident. King's College London holds a Student Visa license issued by UKVI that allows to bring overseas students into the UK to study, so most of the overseas students on a programme of 6 months or more will need this visa and its quite expensive. There is a lot to see at the campus like the Chapel, Roman Bath & The Vault. I wished if the college was more open to welcome other students of all walks of life.”

“The basic staff aren't nice or welcoming at all. The urgent treatment centre has nonchalant and abrupt staff. Customer services isn't of a decent standard at all. I think croydon is terrible but this was another level of rude. Beyond a joke. All the staff speak with no concern or empathy at all and their dealing with ppl with pain and difficulties. I will NOT BE RETURNING HERE AGAIN. Thanks for that experience. That was enough for me.”
