“Tucked away in the cosy village of böheimkirchen, this beautiful cafe caught my attention as I strolled down the marketplace. Their breakfast was very filling with a wide choice of dishes. Their coffee was fantastic and to top it all off, the cake section was huge and I was spoilt for choice. Amazing. I will come back and try all their famous ice creams in the summer. This place made me very happy.”

“A wonderful, traditional Viennese eatery in the 19th district. Reachable via the D tram one station before the terminus in Nussdorf. The cordon bleu was absolutely fantastic as was the pumpkin cream soup. The pumpkin strudel was so so, mostly affected by the very watery salad dressing on the same plate. The waitress promised to to relay this concern to the kitchen. Also known for their seasonal goose! This starts in mid October and should not be missed.”

“Just back from a wonderful three nights at Der Bodenbauer with two friends (August 2023). The location is totally stunning, at the foot of the Hochswab, with amazing mountain views that words can't do justice to. The rooms were very clean, spacious and reasonably priced and the food was incredible; local, beautifully prepared, and delicious. What made it for us was the friendliness of the other guests and outstanding hospitality we received from the staff who worked incredibly hard the whole time we were there. Some examples include changing our room reservation at short notice, preparing breakfast and dinner outside normal times especially for us to fit around our plans, preparing a packed lunch for us on one day, and even taking the trouble to understand our specific walking plans and to telephone the nearby Schiestelhaus to ensure we were on course to make it back in daylight. I would thoroughly recommend Der Bodenbauer to anyone looking for wonderful hospitality and an authentic, immersive experience in the Austrian Alps.”
