Large selection but AH just introduced scan cash registers(unmanned) that make for long lines at check-out as you need an AH bonus card to use it(which non Dutch resident typically don't have)”

“Probably the worst grocery store i have been to. Part of the staff was chatting and laughing, and was standing in a group of 5-6 and doing nothing. Youngsters straight out of high school with no manners. At last the payment. You can't buy without a maestro card or cash, witch reminds me of parts of Europe 25 years ago. Visa and mastercard is no good here, so stay away and go to lidl cross the hall instead. This is a shame if you are a serious business. The cashier seems to be embarrassed by this fact. So to the owner, get a grip. This is no good at all.”

“A franchise branch of the very expensive grocer's chain, Albert Heijn. Long opening hours though, until 22:00 hours. Be aware though, that they remove from the shelves and take away, all the meat and bakery items which have been reduced in price that day, quite a long time before the shop closes; often as much as 40 minutes beforehand (the bread), and 35 minutes for all the packed vegetables, meat, and fish; which I find extremely shortsighted of them.”

“With the well-known nice HE-MA tune in the background, I walk with some Santa. sweets to the cash register where my friend is now paying. Once there there is a discussion. We were not allowed to pay for pillowcases. When I ask why, with the candy still in hand, the lady is angry and threatens to call the police. Dear owner, please check the images. I am still standing with the sweets and watching in amazement how we are treated in an unfriendly manner and I think a cashier is also being trained, not a good example!!! I put the candy elsewhere and walk out of the store. Upside-down world, here. As if the Pol. has time for a discussion about whether people actually want to pay. Thanks for threatening, but you should not come here for a nice shopping experience or customer service. They are now also taught that way. You also trip over the crates on the ground on Saturday afternoon.”
