Since I was not a good candidate Dr. Joy did an amazing job in building a new premolar with a post and crowning it with the adjacent tooth. He approaches difficult dental problems with the enthusiasm of a scientist trying to solve an important problem. Based on my recommendation my wife went to see Dr. Joy as well. During my dental service, the dentist has made unnecessary mistakes with clamping my gums, hurting me with tools etc. Communication is horrible and today was the last straw for me. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. While being serviced the service provider was watching television while working on me and was distracted. I was also supposed to get my wisdom teeth pulled just to be told there was a mishap with insurance that they just found out this morning. Instead of taking accountability for their mistake, they decided to lie. I will not be back.”

“Great experience with the doctor and her assistant. The “billing specialist” was going to call my insurance to verify eligibility prior to my appointment. I was told after I arrived at 3:30pm for my appointment that she had called my insurance that morning and confirmed I was not covered through my HMO. I’ll admit I am not fluent in all things health insurance related and she informed me I would be paying out of pocket. I was shocked by her cavalier attitude and asked why I was not notified prior to my arriving to the appointment so I could have some time to think about my options. Selecting a dental specialist is not a decision I take lightly as it’s a physical, emotional and financial investment. The interaction made me incredibly uncomfortable. I’ve paid roughly $30,000 out of pocket for work at other dentists, and the cost of those procedures were made transparent to me from the beginning. Such a disappointing experience…”
