Needless to say we we quickly found out why people love this place. It’s a small restaurant but it’s both intimate and large enough to host many parties. We ordered our food and our server (Mario) was absolutely amazing. We scouted the menu and made our choices. The biste empalizado was a great portion as well as delicious. The chicharrones de pollo were excellent. All of our food tasted fresh, delicious and the portions were an excellent size. The maduros were also delicious and the rice and black beans were awesome. Tuesday & Friday special is oxtail and it’s great. Funny story my wife loves oxtail but she didn’t see the special and ordered something different. When we finished our meal and she saw what the special was was bummed she didn’t try it out. Our server was so kind. He brought us a small sample for us so she can try it. Needless to say this is the reason why this place does as amazing as it does. What a kind gesture. We’ll definable be back.”

Very nice clean fun bar. Weekend brunch was being served. Everything on the menu sounded amazing! Our bartender was very friendly and super attentive. Younger friendly crowd. Everyone seemed to know each other which was fun! If you’ve not dried The Shed yet DO IT! You won’t be disappointed and you won’t leave hungry! “The setup has changed since I last visited. It is no longer a dine in restaurant. It's carryout only. It's not a bad thing. Grab some food and find a place to sit by the water. There is a river, a lake, an inlet an ocean and a bay within five minutes from here. So your food won't even be cold when you get there. Now let me tell you about the food. Everything on the menu is fantastic. My favorite it the Jerk Chicken Burrito. It's huge by the way and loaded with meat cabbage with rice and beans. The jerk chicken is tender and bursting with flavor. The coco milk rice and beans are a good balance of flavor and an excellent add on in the burrito. My other choice is the Cuban Calypso. It's loaded with pork and bacon on a nice sized piece of cocobread and pressed. This thing is so damn good! So if you are by there and lucky enough to catch them open. Stop in and grab some food to go. I promise you will not be disappointed. Hell even Guy loved it!”

“AMAZING. We missed our reservation window (our fault) and the host still was able to seat us outside with a great space heater on a chilly night. Everything we ordered was terrific. Started with the squash empanada, then the Yuca fries that were perfectly fried. The side sauces were terrific. We tried the Bistec next - a wonderful seared lion’s mane mushroom with some perfectly sautéed onions on top. We then tried the Al Pastor tacos with sautéed mushrooms and great pineapple and onion salsa on top. The mushrooms were perfectly prepared and had great texture. To top it off we got the Cubano sandwich that was as good as any pork Cuban sandwich we’ve ever had. Service was impeccable and everyone was super kind and engaging. Loved our first experience and we will definitely be back. Thanks to the ala Semilla team for a great evening!”

Maybe they need a better scale to be able to measure how long could be a little! And for an order with 70min delay, I didn't get any apology. Never ever get service from them again. A business with this type of management doesn't deserve it. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.”
