“The clerk (possibly owner) was super nice and helpful. I told him I was looking for silver age, and he walked me to the back to look thru boxes not put out yet. I got some great books at very good prices. I was traveling but I went back twice the same day because I was so impressed with this comic shop. Wish this shop was in my area. A ➕️”

Bearwaters Brewing Company: Riverside

Closed until 12:00 PM

339 Park St, Canton, NC 28716, United States

“This is a wonderful brewery in the little town of Canton. Right on the river with lovely outdoor space. We went in December and it was still nice sitting out in the sun! There is ample indoor space as well. You go to the bar to order and they bring your food out to you. Service was quick and friendly! Dogs are allowed outside and there were a few dogs there! I appreciated the different types of seating outside. There were Adirondack chairs if your just having a beer and tables if your eating. Had the hot honey chicken sandwich and it was delicious! Also had the pretzel which was very salty but the cheese dip cut that and it was great! My dad had the stiff paddle IPA that they brew there and said it was excellent. He’s pretty picky about his beers too. Overall great experience and will be back!”

They are so much fun, so talented, and they always go over and beyond what is needed. Great prices clean environment and the best people. I wish I could give them ten stars, five just aren’t enough!”

Ava Gardner Museum

Closed until 09:00 AM

325 E Market St, Smithfield, NC 27577, United States

“For anyone who's interested in the Golden age of movies, this is a great day trip. There's a short movie (18 minutes) to get you started and then you can explore the many costumes, ephemera, and personal items from Gqrdener's life. Be sure to take advantage of the docent and ask a lot of questions, it will make your trip more memorable. I spent 2 hours but you could spend less or more depending on your level of interest.”

Town Creek Indian Mound State Historic Site
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 09:00 AM

509 Town Creek Mound Rd, Mt Gilead, NC 27306, United States

“My family and I stopped at the Indian mounds on a whim while traveling the highway. It was late in the day, and it was about to close in 30 min. The main visitors center has several depictions of life for the Natives in the area and artifacts found in the property. I really enjoyed seeing the mounds and fort built around it. The grounds were completely natural, and with a chill in the air and dusk moving in, it gave the area an ethereal feel. The mounds are quite a ways from the highway, but I would recommend stopping in and exploring.”

201 E Davie St, Raleigh, NC 27601, United States

“ArtSpace is an extremely well thought out and executed space for artists of all kinds. There’s something to look at everywhere. Even the building is beautiful and historic. They rotate the exhibits and artist, so you really get an immersive experience every time you visit. The team is extremely welcoming and friendly, and made up of mostly creatives themselves. This is one of the most inspiring places in Raleigh North Carolina.”

Accordion Club

316 W Geer St, Durham, NC 27701, United States

“First and last time going. We had family in from Texas, and went to boxcar - had a great time. One of the employees recommended this bar because they stayed open later. We walked in, and were like oh this a great dive bar by the look of it and how many patrons were at the bar. We sat at the bar, and had contact with a bartender (we later found out from security that she was “hungover”) who was extremely rude, and dismissive. She was much warmer with others at the bar, possibly because they were regulars but even getting a beer from her was like pulling teeth because she could barely even face us when we were talking to her. The body language was horrible, and so was her energy. There was even a point where she threw the cash change back down in front of one of our family members, and I was in disbelief. Looking over my bank transactions and realized the waitress also wrote herself in a tip even though I didn’t tip and crossed out the tip on the slip. Definitely never coming back, and don’t recommend.”

Letters Bookshop
4.7
( 8 reviews )

116 W Main St, Durham, NC 27701, United States

“The style of this place was amazing. It was quite frankly one of the prettiest and esthetic bookstores I have been in. They had really cool copies of tons of vintage books that were just gorgeous and only 9$. I did find their fiction section to be a little lacking, but I might have just not looked long enough. The upstairs was really cool and the ceiling and doors up there gave old timey glamour vibes. Overall a cool store.”

Millbridge Speedway
4.6
( 10 reviews )

6670 Mooresville Rd, Salisbury, NC 28147, United States

“Only been here 3 times so far but I was hooked on the first night!! The track changes daily so the groove is different every time. Keeps drivers on their toes and brings out the best talent. Having been in asphalt the last few years it was awesome to get back to the dirt. Plus you never know who you may see there or race against. Top talent and professional drivers are here week in and week out.”

Northgate Stadium 10
3.8
( 8 reviews )

1058 W Club Blvd, Durham, NC 27701, United States

“AC is BROKEN and was told it’s been broken for 2 months. If you enjoy theaters that are hot with no air flow, perfect place to come for a cheap movie. Movies also don’t start on time. Bought tickets for a 7:15pm movie, and the theatre was pitch black with nothing on screen until 7:25 when previews finally started.”
