“Park is local to me and apart from the summer Bank hols when it's too busy then it's great. Especially when it's wet and we can walk the dog in peace However what I didn't appreciate today is the group of canoe enthusiasts unloading their equipment, blocking the ramps with their trolleys etc. Was forced to wade through water around them and my dog couldn't get through past them so jumped into the frozen lake to get around them. If she had gone through the ice I don't want to think about it. Just a reminder that this park is for ALL to use not just water sports and runners. Recommend the lampost cafe.”

“We had such an amazing time walking around Gosford Park! Lots of historical features (walled garden, castle, well, bridges...) A great variety of trees (native and imported) plenty to do for kids such as low ropes course, swings, ziplines, slides, climbing ...(or for grown up if you're lucky to go when kids are at school) Loved looking at the deers. There are a few trailers on the car park (coffee, ice cream and chippie) Bathrooms available. Several playgrounds by the car park. Camping facilities. Walking and bike trails. Even have a bike repair station!”

“Do your homework before you come. I just drive expecting to work it out when I got there. What I didn't realise is there are 3 different centres. You need to work out which centre you need to go to for the riding you want to do. Anyway once I worked that out I had an amazing time. There are so many miles of trails you can easier spend a weekend exploring rather than a day. Worth a visit. Lastly the locals are so friendly and helpful. Enjoy....”

“I go every week and enjoy the swim but have recently seen a decline inspite of new showers and hair dryers. One of the dryers is quite often out of order. All the lockers are a disgrace and need renewing - half of them are broken or have bits broken off. One toilet door in the ladies has been broken for years. Both spinners for costumes have been removed and I believe not being replaced. Floors are not very clean either. But still they put the prices up. Disappointing. I complained last year about some men in showers shoving their hands down their trunks to wash their bits -not a pretty site- I was told by text that this would be looked into. I had hoped someone might put a sign up asking them to show respect for the fact that there are women in the showers too but nothing. So if I could go somewhere else to swim near by I probably would.”

“Our first time visiting for the Halloween trail. Brilliant place. There is so much to do here. They also have tree surfing, which looked amazing. I tried to book online but had trouble. So I emailed and they replied swiftly and it was all sorted out. Recommend wearing wellies or boots as it was wet and muddy obviously! Didn't put anyone off as it was really busy. There's a small cafe. We called in on the way out. Very small menu, but decent cuppa. The best apple cake I have ever tasted. All 4 of us had something different and not one complaint. It was lovely. I have to give a massive shout out to the young girl who was serving in the cafe. It got busy very quickly and she was amazing. Very calm and polite. She managed the queue really well until someone was free to come and help. All the staff were great. Friendly and knowledgeable. Good couple of hours.”

“Pleasant quiet walk overlooking Bassenthwaite and a stately house (entrance fee required) with public footpath to the church. The car park is on the opposite side of the road with a couple of disabled bays chargeable on exit. The terrain to the gate is bumpy for wheelchair users, after that the footpath is a fairly smooth tarmac followed by a gravel lane covered in grass and mud.”

“Excellent service, arrive before or on time to guarantee a parking space otherwise you'll need to park elsewhere. Staff are very helpful and make sure everything is set up for you to ride. Just over the road from the start of the trail. Couldn't fault it at all. Had a 4yr old on a tag along on my bike and it's a smooth ride without any hills or tough sections.”

“Been here on multiple occasions for a walk. It's a great spot for a picnic. Loads of people camp and for most part take their rubbish with them. Lots of dog walkers, horses and cyclists. Kids love jumping across all the old fallen trees and dipping their toes in the water. One of my favourite areas in Edinburgh. Two car parks that can be used for here and threipmuir Reservoir. Does get rather busy. There is also portable toilets.”
