District Rico

“Delicious Peruvian style rotisserie chicken with lots of other latin options including burritos and sides. I ordered the 1/4 white chicken with plantains and fried rice. I also tried their spicy green and white sauces. The food was delicious and you get a really large portion for $12.25 after tax. I was in and out of the restaurant in 15 minutes and ended up having so much food it kept me full through dinner. I highly recommend District Rico.”

“This is my best Indian restaurant I've been to. Everything we ordered was delicious and presented very well, especially the mushroom biryani which was inside a bread dome. Very unique. My favorite dishes were the lamb chops and the sweet potato chaat. We got the roasted carrots and broccoli as a healthier option and it may have been the best carrot and broccoli dish I've had. The bread basket had a nice assortment of different naans as well. We felt that everything was worth the price. The only downside was the parking combined with the restaurant being in a not so great part of town. We didn't know the area well so when we couldn't find parking right at the restaurant we found a spot in what looked like a relatively safe area. We will definitely come back but probably not when it's dark outside.”

“I had breakfast here before it got busy, however my order took about 30-40 minutes, I ordered the gluten-free banana bread toast with ricotta cheese and fruit, it was just okay, it looks way better than it tasted. I later ordered some take out online and the order was delayed, partly my fault for scanning the table QR, but when I asked someone to check it they said it was coming out, after a half hour I inquired again and the order was not processed. I don't think I'd go back, if you do go be sure to inquire about your order if it hasn't come out after 15 minutes. One positive about this place the COFFEE is excellent!!”

“Amazing bagels and friendly staff. Excellent choice for a convention center breakfast. Order ahead for weekends or busy mornings, but many weekdays have a relaxed and calm environment with ample indoor and outdoor seating. The day-old variety bags are a great deal, take home some extra bagels for later.”

“Donut Run is an excellent donut shop/counter. So far, these are probably the best donuts I’ve tried in the DMV. If you like yeasty fluffy donuts, there are plenty of options here. If you like cake style donuts there are not as many options. I loved the variety of flavors to try. If I had to have any critique it would be the donuts are a little too sweet, especially in the frosting. However, that is personal preference. :) definitely worth checking this place out!”

“The ramen was delicious and karaage citrus-y and bright. The spicy tonkotsu had a light but creamy broth that I really appreciated. Usually tonkotsu feels quite heavy. The menma was delicious as well - I wish there was more than one slice …”

“I saw this place on tiktok! Someone showed how HUGE the slices were so I just had to try it. Ordered the slice online to pick up. It was definitely huge like the video I saw! Hot!! Lots of pepperonis and cheese. Very first food I tasted coming into DC for the first time and it was good.”

“We kind of stumbled into this place after our lunch at Rasika (which is right across the street). The atmosphere inside was chaotic. I am guessing they have a lot of regulars who have figured their way around. They have several counters apparently selling different kinds of food and no helpful signage. We just wanted coffee! Anyway figured the line for us and ordered coffee, and took our coffee outside (they don’t have much indoor seating). Their coffee was excellent (though it did take me a while to figure out where they hid their sugar)! But one of the best coffees I have had. It is also apparently a popular spot to feed the birds. One of the gentleman next to us was feeding bread crumbs to the birds and one of the bird smacked my friend right across her face in its eagerness to get to them! I guess their homely chaos was more than compensated by the quality of their coffees. Being in an expensive neighborhood- their prices tend to be on the higher side. But not too much and worth the experience!”

“Great, healthy food prepared right in front of you. Good size portions. Unusual but tasty flavor profiles. Large menu. Good prices for the Wharf. Only thing I didn't particularly care for was the seating area inside. It was kind of boring and utilitarian. The food quality and presentation doesn't match the interior design. But I'll definitely be back!”

“This place is in the tourist destination, The Wharf. So, parking is an overpriced nightmare. And this place isn’t much better. You can only order at kiosks which seemed to take forever due to indecisive customers trying to figure out what they want. Then, one of the kiosks wasn’t working properly, so that was adding to the confusion. We had to wipe our table down because it had not been properly cleaned. When we got our food I was pretty excited because the sandwiches looked great. Unfortunately they weren’t that great. All thee of us felt disappointed that our sandwich wasn’t very flavorful. Same could be said about the waffle fries. They looked good but were bland and flavorless. I will say that the sandwiches and order of fries are big and could probably be split between two people unless they are REALLY hungry. Our bill for three sandwiches, two fries and three waters was $70; $10.50 of which was just for the waters. Not a good deal at all. I do not recommend this place or The Wharf.”

“The restaurant checked all the boxes for me. Not too intimate but nice seating with a more casual feel. (They do have an automatic 20% gratuity) The Food was great the paccheri pasta (hope I spelled that right) had a umami flavor. The ragu melted in your mouth and it all tasted fresh and not dry! The appetizer was my favorite part we got calamari fish and some baked chips. The fish was bone in and tasted fresh with a great crunch. Amazing experience!!”

“My fiancé and I chose La Chaumière to celebrate our engagement, and it was an experience we'll cherish forever. This restaurant is a rare gem that truly captures the essence of French cuisine and culture in the heart of the DC area. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly special. A huge shoutout to our waiter, Rene, who went above and beyond to ensure our evening was memorable. His service was impeccable, striking the perfect balance between attentiveness and giving us our space to celebrate. The menu was a delightful surprise, brimming with authentic and traditional French dishes. As lovers of adventurous eating, we were thrilled to find a variety of dishes featuring organ meats – a rarity in the States and a testament to the restaurant's commitment to genuine French culinary traditions. Each dish we tried was more delicious than the last, prepared with skill and presented beautifully. The ambiance of La Chaumière added to the enchantment, whisking us away to a charming French countryside inn. We're already looking forward to our next visit to the DC area, as a trip to La Chaumière will undoubtedly be at the top of our list. For anyone seeking an authentic French dining experience, this is the place to go. Thank you, La Chaumière, for making our engagement celebration so extraordinary! 🍽️💍🇫🇷🥂 *edited for grammar”

“Had an event at the Anthem and wanted to grab something to eat. I had my mind set on trying the PB&B bowl. There is a drop-off/ pick up zone that I parked so I could run in to order. The cleanliness is notable since I walked in as they were cleaning the floors. After ordering, took about 7 minutes to get. Very delicious and filling. Would get another bowl.”

“We ordered spicy wantons, dan dan noodles, and cumin lamb. My favorite was cumin lamb. It was well seasoned and not too much cumin. Dan dan noodle was kinda bland to my taste. I liked their chili wantons too but the downside was they stick to each other so that it was hard to take them apart. I also ordered clover club which actually was my favorite thing in this restaurant. It was very smooth and sweet.”

“The concept is good but the execution was lackluster. I stepped in not knowing it was a vegan place so I was very impressed by their fried chickens and cauliflower. I like vegan food and am always curious to know what kind of inventions people will think of. BUT. The carb options was well below average. The noodles had so much spring onion in them - I mean, about 60% of the dish was uncut spring onions. The noodles were all broken and difficult to grip with chopsticks, even forks. The fried rice was way too wet and sweet. Again, they blasted the rice with spring onion Would I come back? Maybe, with heavy modifications to my dishes. Also wasn't a fan that despite us dining in, they were all served in difficult to eat in takeout boxes.”

“I used to love their sandwiches back in 2018ish… I think their quality has gone down since then. I agree with what other said about the meat being on the skimpy side, especially for a $14 6 in sandwich. I got the chicken fontina. On top that, there were several pieces of chicken in the sandwich that were rock solid that I didn’t eat. I don’t think I’ll be returning for food! Bummer!”

“The service was excellent!! I ordered to go, they said 15 to 20 minutes but it was ready in like 8 minutes. The lady at the register was very warm and welcoming and made me feel very comfortable. The food was excellent!! I ordered the steamed pork dumplings, the combination lo mein, and the general two's chicken, and shrimp spring rolls. Everything was hot and fresh. Being as though I was being driven home on an hour long right I dove right into my food. When I got home my son, who is very picky, finished off the rest!!”

St. Vincent Wine

“St. Vincent Wine is a nice and chill spot to enjoy wine, cocktails, and good food. There is a ton of seating outdoors, but also seating in the upstairs bar (inside) as well as on the deck upstairs. I really like how the deck gives a great view of the stage when there are performances. I believe there are performances every Wednesday. The band plays relaxing music. I enjoyed the lobster bucatini and my charcuterie board. I was impressed I got to customize my board to my liking with several options. Usually, I find that is not an option at most places. I can remember the name of the cocktail I got, but it was light and refreshing. The only con of the experience was that if you’re purchasing single glasses of wine or soft drinks, you have to go upstairs to the bar. They bring everything else to your table but not glasses of wine and soft drinks. So I did have to get up and walk upstairs. I think most prefer to sit and relax while dining, and having to walk upstairs to the bar is kind of the opposite of that, but beggars can’t be choosers. The staff was nice and I enjoyed the live music.”

“This was so average. But I was in great company with friends!!! The sliders were honestly just ordinary, no flavors in the sauces stood out. I ate the Korean fried chicken sliders and the chicken was fried but barely.. not breaded much and wasn’t really crispy. The fries were delicious so I suppose that’s a redeeming quality. The ambiance of the restaurant was a bit dreary to be honest. I can’t explain it but it felt a little lifeless. I don’t think I would go back. Also it was on par with other restaurants for pricing.”
