“I stopped here for a very nice lunch. Because this noodle shop usually has awaiting line, I felt lucky to be seated immediately. My luck continued as I was greeted with a wonderful bowl of hot soba noodles, a fresh salad with toasted buckwheat grains, and a lovely shrimp tempura, complete with shiso tempura. From the house made noodles to the warm efficient service, everything was just right. Highly recommended.”

“Fantastic dinner! Better than other meals we paid 2 or 3 times higher price for. Simple, fresh, tasty food in a cosy yet lively atmosphere. The food is a fresher lighter modern izakaya menu. No English menu and staff were not able to help with menu translation, but we were able to get by easily enough with Google translate to pick some dishes we like the sound of and they were all top quality. The staff had slightly limited English but we were able to communicate as well as needed. Recommend 1 or 2 smaller dishes per person then the eel rice to finish. The eel rice made into rice porridge at the end is delicious! Staff were super nice and friendly. Can highly recommend, be sure to make a reservation as they were fully booked the night we came.”

“Very elegant Michelin rated dining experience. The dress code is definitely business casual/formal though they do give a lot of slack to foreigners. It’s also a cash only place and required reservations ahead of time. The who dinner takes about 2.5 hours. They try to speak English, but they do provide a written menu which is not always accurate. This was a 9-10 course menu. Overall the dishes were very vegetable-heavy and very artfully decorated. Wouldn’t say I enjoyed every course, but I did appreciate the the beauty of every course and it definitely reflected many of the traditional themes of Japanese fine dining. Overall, would recommend if you’re in the area and have cash to spare.”

“I used to come here often. I stopped by this place nearby because I wanted to eat something sweet. At a store that has been around for a long time! This is a sweet shop that is famous on Instagram. The store has been renovated and looks nice and clean. I wonder if there are more seats than before? ! The mitarashi dango was sold out, so I ordered warabi mochi and zenzai. The prices for each item are a little high. If two people enter, it will cost 3000 yen! The warabi mochi has just the right amount of softness. Each piece is large, so it's filling. It was delicious. As for the zenzai, the rice cakes are small, and the sweetness is not so sweet that it seems like there is a restriction on sweetness. Young people! Maybe a slightly lighter zenzai like this would be good? ! I thought... For people of my generation who like to eat sweet things, I think this is a bit unsatisfactory, and the aftertaste doesn't suit me. As someone with a sweet tooth, I definitely want to eat sweet zenzai 😊💧 It's quite popular! Everyone orders mitarashi dango. There's a new store opening in Sanjo, so I think it's going to have a nice retro atmosphere. You have to line up at both stores! !”
