“I think I come Here again. Its always nice to see a busy Pub and Lovely Staff. When Customers have their main and then a dessert after you know its Good. Fully Enjoy my Roast Beef and really nice portion which fills u up. Though I think needed a bit more gravy though. You always have room for your dessert and it was well worth it. Really nice portion white chocolate drizzle Cheesecake was fluffy and light like meringue Texture. Was Very impressed how it tasted so good. That was decent portion you don't get many pubs to do a good portion cheesecake. Flavour was great. The presentation is great as well and I could they have really good portion on other dishes as well. We were there good 1h 30 minutes. Plus there a river close by. Thank you for a really nice meal out.”

“I wish we could have provided a 5* rating, but we stayed in the accommodation for one night and the standard and hygiene of the accommodation has depressed the rating, but the food is definitely worthy of 5* rating, particularly the 🍕 which are yum 😋. We stayed in the Delux Double room and the room was advertised with a ‘Countryside view’, but in reality the view is ‘road and Carpark’. There is damp and mould around the window and the curtains are patterned with mildew and mould, the ceiling light is loosed and detached and there are many stains around the sink and bath tiles, there was a bottle of cleaning agent left on the top of the bath, so I assume we were suppose to clean the room… The hotel provides fresh milk in a well used flask and the TV is little small for the room… It is with sadness that we need to mention these issues, but I think it is only fair we mention them.”

“Absolutely stunning makeover for a hidden gem! We are locals and visited a few years ago, and it was nothing compared to what it is now! The new huge expansion and development of a traditional country pub, but created for the modern demands of customer experience of great food and local produce, captured by natural beautiful surroundings is a 10 out 10! The staff were really knowledgeable and very helpful. The service was relaxed, and the new extension we sat in was really impressive, and the garden area was picture-perfect for anyone whether socially with family, or friends or romantically, this pub would suite anyone wanting to visit a real country pub tucked away off the beaten track. The menu offers up some mouth-watering delights, and they have specials every day and offer gluten-free options, which is clearly marked. The portions are very generous but plated up with care and foodie flare! We enjoyed every mouthful. It's dog friendly, with free ample parking, and I can imagine this pub will be a hot spot for locals and outside visitors for many years to come. Highly recommended!!! Come rain or shine. “Wow what a beautiful place! We arrived last Friday and it was so busy but all staff were polite and attentive, they took time to make it feel super welcome even though it was busy. The food was amazing my wife and myself had the Hampshire burger. Top food! I would definitely recommend! Large carpark out the back and lovely to sit outside in its huge beer garden by the river. Dogs also made welcome with lots of dog bowls around for them to grab a drink.”

“Phoned for a table for 2 & was advised that an early table might be advisable as there were a lot of large tables for Xmas dinners after 7pm. Very welcoming on our arrival by hostess and seated quickly and drinks orders taken while we browsed the menu. We had 3 courses each and all were served quickly, piping hot and very tasty. “I wanted to take out for dinner friends who live away, we’re relatively new to the area ourselves so not had chance to dine out much. I stumbled across this place on Google Maps, read the reviews and thought let’s give it a try! It turned out to be a great decision 😋. Like everyone else this was our first time at a restaurant of this kind, our greeter asked this and so helped us through the menu. To be honest it’s mostly fairly explanatory but good to have someone assist. They are keen to take you out if your comfort zone tempting you by prawn and fish if you suggest you have Chicken usually, for example! We began with x4 starters to share between the four of us, this was good as it allowed us to sample different dishes. They were all delicious. The gentleman also discussed mains with us, mainly focusing on meat choice and heat. Once he had an idea of our tastes he declared our dishes would be chosen by him, with it taken out of our hands!! This is the first time any of us had let the waiter decided upon our choices 🫣🤣. However, as I say I’d read previous reviews who had mentioned this so I assured my friends this style normally works out with customers! I’m pleased to say our mains were fantastic 👌🏼. Really nice food, expertly cooked from scratch or as near as damn it from a commercial point of view! One thing I would say, is it would of been nice to if known which each dish was called….. because we have no idea! (A different guy served us). The bill came to £121 for the four of us, which works out about £30 a head for a drink, starter and main. Not cheap, but perfectly reasonable in this current financial uncertainty. We were the first ones in the restaurant at about 5:50 on a Saturday evening (I had booked), within an hour it was full. That says a lot. Opening times on Google state 5:30, on the restaurant door it say’s 6pm! A little confusing, something maybe they could look at.”

“Where do I start...ok for a restaurant to be inviting..the basic part is temperature...the place was freezing. lucky we had dressed for cold weather and kept our coats on. Service was amateur at best...not difficult for the owner to train staff...but clearly he doesn't bother. Food...I had pheasant which was like a tough bit of chicken... probably shot the day before or maybe fresh out of the freezer. The bill...ah so interesting the add on a tree...yes a tree, when I questioned the tree..where nus it going to be planted the waiter said oh tree no I think it might be a school in Tanzania...”

“The food here is absolutely beautiful as well as the surroundings and the staff are pleasant and helpful. The Halloumi starter with the sweet chilly jam was beautifully cooked, the crispy batter wasn't greasy and complimented the Halloumi 's 'squeaky' texture really well. For my main I had the Cajun Chicken Burger and a side of Dirty Fries. This burger hands down is one of the best burgers I've ever eaten! The Cajun chicken wasn't too spicy but certainly had a kick to it, served in a sweet brioche bun which I find is always a good choice for a burger! The dirty fries were yummy too and most definitely can be shared between two( hubby and I got one each but we could have shared) overall amazing pub, food, staff and surroundings! All the family enjoyed their meals so will definitely return here again!”
