“The year was 2016. When my friend had cancer and just got out of the hospital, after having part of her body amputated, I ordered food for her and her children from Sicily's. She couldn't get out of bed after having a chunk of her body cut out and her 3 children were hungry. I went to get the food and explained the situation to the owner. I asked if he could donate the food or give a discount under the circumstances, which I did fully explain. "NOOOO!!!" then he stormed off. I 100% paid for the food and got the opportunity to be a blessing to someone in need. I'll NEVER set foot in this establishment after being responded to with such abrasiveness. True colors shown through and not all of the self promotion of "feel good" community involvement and giving they like to portray to the public.”

“Stopped in for lunch with my daughter while out shopping. Everything on the menu, which is quite extensive sounded pretty good but we settled on sharing a pineapple chicken salad sandwich and a bbq baked potato. Both were fairly good but we both agreed the bbq meat in the potato tasted a bit like the Lloyd's bbq meat they sell in the tubs at your local grocery store. I think if we were to order a potato again, it would be loaded with just bacon, cheese and green onions. They are massively huge though and we were unable to finish it. The sandwich and chips were good and just the right portion. We also ordered a side of fruit which also came with a lightly flavored cream cheese dip. They also have a salad bar which we may try out next time. It's small but had quite a few toppers to choose from. Overall, a great place to stop in for a satisfying lunch.”

The hot and sour soup tasted like a burnt corn starch slurry, the beef roll was on the sweeter side, and the vegetables in the Sichuan twice cooked pork felt a little underdone.”

“The pizza was great but a kid’s spaghetti cost as much as a huge slice of pizza and it was definitely not worth it at all. Especially when one of the employees put her bare finger in the noodles to make sure they were warm. (Which they were since it seemed like the noodles and small container of sauce was microwaved.) Wish we had just bought another slice of pizza. I get that prices have gone up lately, but it was honestly kind of ridiculous and soured the meal. For the price of one kid’s pasta and 2 slices of pizza (cheese and pepperoni) for $21 we could have bought a large pizza ($17.25+tax) Lesson learned :(”

“A Disheartening Dining Experience at Osumasuya My recent visit to Osumasuya was, unfortunately, a disappointing journey through flavors that can best be described as sorrow mixed with salt. Jollof Rice: The jollof rice seemed like it had been reheated far too many times, leaving it with a tough, chewy bottom. This dish, normally a staple of warmth and flavor, was instead a hard, joyless version of what it should be. Asun: The asun didn’t fare much better. The meat was overly soft, almost mushy, resembling shredded beef that had been awkwardly glued together rather than the traditionally savory and tender asun. Shawarma: The shawarma was a notable letdown. The meat was hard and tasted burnt. I acknowledge that my late order, about an hour before closing, might have been a factor, but it doesn’t entirely excuse the poor quality. Suya: Then there was the suya. It was tough and lacked the essential flavors – no spice, no zest, just a hard and joyless chew. A Glimmer of Hope – Kilishi: Amidst this disappointing experience, the kilishi was a pleasant surprise. It was the only part of the meal that I genuinely enjoyed, which highlights the unfulfilled potential of the rest of the dishes. Concluding Thoughts: I had high hopes for Osumasuya, but the meal I received was a far cry from the vibrant, flavorful Nigerian cuisine I love and was expecting. The overall taste of the food was akin to sorrow mixed with salt, leaving me not just dissatisfied but genuinely disheartened. It’s my hope that this was an off day for the restaurant and not the norm, as there is certainly room for improvement.”
