“Easily our favorite sushi spot in Tampa. Take this with a grain of salt I'm not an expert on Japanese culture: but izakaya roughly translates to "stay-drink-place" so think pub. Great atmosphere, usually crowded (for good reason), and great drinks/food. This is great spot to bring out of town friends or family who like Japanese, post work snacks and drinks, or a first (or in my case like 35th) date. Happy hour is from 5 to 7 Monday - Saturday. They've got drinks and apps on there. Haven't had anything here we don't like. Sushi is 9/10, sashimi is great, the miso soup is some of the best imo, all their hot dishes like the ramen and katsu are awesome. Hard to beat a Kirin draft, a hot sake, and a sushi roll or 4 after a long work week. The only downfall: this place is no longer a secret and they do get BUSY, expect a wait most evenings/nights, but service is very solid and they do their best to accommodate without rushing anyone. It is worth the wait.”

“I moved to Ruskin about 8 years ago and I finally visited Apollo Meats for the first time today. I was very happy with what I saw. Coming here brought back memories of shopping at the local Hornung Meats with my grandmother back in the 1980s. The service was fast and friendly. The prices were lower than most of the grocery stores around and the lunch meat was just perfect (turkey pastrami and Amish of the bone ham). They have everything you want or need concerning meat. They also have kabobs and cinnamon rolls. Oh...and they have some local produce as well. I can't wait to try the mountain kielbasa I bought. I will definitely be back.”

“Nice little sports bar type vibe with good cocktails and games, can’t beat it. Wings went crazy. We got the pooty-tang wings and they were so good we had to get a whole second order and we weren’t even hungry. We came for bingo night and it was a lot of fun. You can tell they have a strong group of locals and regulars who frequent the spot, which made it feel very welcoming. The only negative I can speak on is that the French onion dip was disappointing, and that it took awhile to get service but that was just because they are busy, so not really an issue. All in all, I can see this becoming a regular spot.”

“Excellent restaurant to go to whether you're vegan/vegetarian or not. The food is just very good, hot and fresh, you can't go wrong. The menu will have something for everyone. The location might be a tad off the beaten path, but it's worth it. The inside is very welcoming and comfortable to enjoy your meal. The staff is super friendly and very helpful if you have any questions about the menu. We have to come back on Thursday to try their po-boy sandwich. They have different daily specials that you can try out. Their cheese-steak sandwich with fresh made chips and/or fries is delicious, meat eaters will be happily surprised. The Mac N Cheese they make is super creamy and full of flavor, a guilty pleasure for sure, just remember to share. We thought we'd have plenty to take home, but as it turns out the bowl was empty the last time we looked. So if you're looking for fresh, hot, sorta healthier food, smoothies, etc., please give Vine Vegan a go, it'll be a favorite for sure.”

“A friend turned me on to First Choice Bar-B-Que recently and I loved it. First Choice has been around since 1992. It was located in the back corner of a little shopping center (Brandon Crossings). The place was unassuming and it had a warm, simple, and friendly atmosphere. They claim that their goal is to provide you top quality barbecue with every bite you eat! And they do. I ordered a half slab of ribs and a pork sandwich to go. The smoker showed me the ribs before they were wrapped and I refrained from eating until I got home. The ribs were delicious-tender and smoked perfectly. The BBQ sauce was good too although I prefer a mustard base. The pork sandwich was my favorite. Lucky for me that it was a generous size as my guy was eating it immediately. The next time I stop in I will order the collard greens and coleslaw. The pork rice is tempting. Actually all of the sides are tempting. First Choice Bar-B-Que offers a variety of sandwiches, dinners, a huge selection of meats (including turkey, sausage, corned beef, chicken & more) and sides in the Southern BBQ style. Definitely a must-try kind of place.”

“Nice little vibe at this Asian fusion spot. The best part is definitely the service. Summer took great care of us, made sure we had everything we needed, and even brought out a water bowl for our dog. She had such a bright energy. The atmosphere is also quite nice - we sat outside on their front patio which a great view of the sunset, and it was a very peaceful experience. The food was good, but not extraordinary. Good enough to come back though, just not anything crazy. My favorite was the Bahn Mi and all their sauce options considering I’m a big sauce girlie. I would drive across town for their lavender boba milk tea.”

“I was delightfully surprised by the fear Great flavors and how delicious the food was there both nights we came. After the first night, we were craving it, so we HAD to go back. The line is always long there but well worth the wait. The appetizers are on point we had fried rice for meals both nights, and the portions are large we could have shared, but I'm glad we didn't so we had left overs to take with us. The servers were very nice and attentive and can make great recommendations for your tastes. I will definitely return when we come back to Tampa. And it is a family-friendly restaurant even though it's on the casino floor. I definitely recommend stopping by. The Thai tea was amazing.”

“If you're bored with corporate pizza and wondering if there are bolder flavors you haven't tasted yet, Calusa will make your day. There is something about the seasoning in the crust and sauce that is unique and exciting, without resorting to anything painfully hot. They also have a fully stocked bar with a wide variety of beer and wine. I've had the Vegetarian several times (who knew how good artichoke hearts could be!) and the Greek. I often find myself marveling at just how wonderful whichever topping it was tastes in the bite I'm eating at the moment, with no idea what they did to make it do that. They find a way to bring out the best in every topping and combination. They must have put a lot of thought into their recipes and they have high standards for the quality of their ingredients. Service is also friendly and quick.”

“That was the place I used to go every time I didnt bring food to work. until one day a white chubby lady(cuban), was using her cellphone and I ordered some chicharron and she was trying to give it to me with her bear hands. I told her no to touch my food with her hands and she told me “ my hands are clean” and proceeded to get a piece of paper to grab it, with tongs just seating in front of her. Is that was in front of me, I can’t imagine whats happening in the kitchen🤮🤢”
