“First time visiting Scuola Pizza, and my son and I will be back regularly. We had the Steak Marsala and Chicken Souvlaki. Both were outstanding. The service was great. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great suggestions. She obviously loves the food too because she was very enthusiastic about her recommendations. “We really enjoyed our experience. They were so sweet to us and could tell it was our first visit. They guided us on what to order and it was delicious. I had an arepa with steak and my husband had a sweet plantain sandwich with pork. We definitely will be going back. I am gluten-free, and they have a lot of gluten-free options, which is a plus!! I will try their empanadas next!”

“I really liked this place. It is super cute and nice inside. They have a large menu selection. I ordered the Buffalo Mac and cheese, my boyfriend got the salmon. We both really enjoyed our meals and it was a good portion size. Our waiter was very attentive and nice. Overall this is a nice experience for a nice night out for dinner. The atmosphere is great as is the service and food.”

“Unwelcoming policies and pricing issues, leading us to leave before even ordering food! Firstly, the restaurant enforces an unusual and frankly absurd policy: a $3 charge for sharing food and no substitutes. Although each of us planned to order individually, the mere presence of such a rule felt like a direct disrespect to us as customers. If I am paying for food you best believe I’ll do whatever I feel like with it. Just thinking of them watching over my shoulder to enforce this policy was bewildering enough to make us leave with just ordering a drink. Additionally there was an excessive transaction fee for card payments, which only adds to the discomfort of dining here. In today's digital age, penalizing customers for using cards seems unreasonable and customer unfriendly. Lastly, the pricing did not even justify the overall experience. Even without considering the additional charges, the menu prices weren't even reasonable. An omelet for $12 is not great. In conclusion, my family and I were left with no choice but to seek a more welcoming and reasonably priced dining environment elsewhere. It's unfortunate, as we were looking forward to our meal, but the restrictive policies ruined it. Would never recommend this restaurant or any with these types of policies especially to those who value their money and freedom in their dining.”

“We absolutely loved every dish we ordered! Specifically the filet, the lamb, and the ribeye!!! The only critique we had was that the bread served with the bruschetta was SO hard that it was hard to bite into and eat. Besides that everything was superb! We had two excellent bottles of wine as well. When we are able to splurge again, we will definitely return. The menu is priced VERY high, but we knew what we were getting into when we chose to go here for dinner. Expect to pay a few hundred dollars if you have more than two people. We also loved that we got to choose our own knife to use! Added an element of fun to it!!”

“Pretty good Asian place in a cute plaza in downtown Gainesville. I’ve also passed by liquid ginger when downtown, and it’s pretty hard to miss the creepy moon statue outside. I figured I’d finally try it and I had a pretty good experience. The ambiance of the interior was a little gloomy, but it was still cute nonetheless. The wait staff wasn’t very quick despite not being busy, but I do not want to hold it against them. I ordered the pad thai and my girlfriend ordered what I believe were the udon noodles with steak. The pad thai was pretty good and on par with other thai or asian places i’ve had across gainesville. I thought it could have used a little more sauce, but the chicken and the vegetables were all cooked well and still tasty. The udon noodles with steak were decent and the steak and vegetables were cooked pretty well. The main dismay was that the dish was absurdly oily, such that there was a pool of oil on the bottom and the leftovers left a film of oil across the takeout container. The dish was still enjoyable, just a little less oil would’ve been appreciated. Nonetheless, I’d still recommend trying it out for anything pan-asian or thai fusion as I believe they have a lot to offer. They also have an expansive sushi menu that I didn’t get to try, so i’d love to try that too!”
