“This katsudon is praised by gourmets as the best in Japan. Katsudon is a katsudon that is packed with all the elements that every Japanese person thinks of when they hear the word katsudon. The perfection of katsudon, created by an elderly couple with their exquisite combination, has reached the level of abstraction. The menu has been narrowed down to one bowl of katsudon, and the restaurant is only open for three and a half hours, three days a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. It is truly a katsudon at the end of life. A line of people that never ends. If you want to teach your child how to make katsudon for the first time, this is definitely the place to go. However, reality eventually provokes us, threatens us, and overwhelms the ordinary katsudon. At that time, we are sure to create a new katsudon story. Until then, René Magritte is the only person in this world who can say, ``This is not katsudon.'' Thank you for the meal. Today, May 27, 2023, this 100-year-old store will close its doors. “I wouldn’t say this place is unique enough to visit JUST for this store, but if you want to do other shopping in this area and you like stationary, it’s worth a visit. I wish they had more stickers, as those they do have are adorable and some are made of neat textured papers. The selection of cards is where I think the store really shines.”

“Decided to just randomly pop into this restaurant for our last meal in Japan. Definitely did not disappoint. From the service to the quality of the food, everything is just on point. We ordered the standard lunch set and the upgraded wagyu set. But when the quality of the wagyu is at such a high level, one cannot differentiate between both sets when put into the mouth. As the meal come towards the end, they will crack an egg into the leftover broth to create a scrambled egg over rice dish, ending the experience with a flavour bomb. It was indeed the perfect ending to our 2023 Japan trip.”

“Just a 2 minute walk from arrival hall Haneda airport. Great to stroll down the promenade to reach the villa Fontaine Grand hotel. As you walk down the promenade heading towards the hotel, you can see many paludariums on the left hand side and many restaurants/ shops on the right side. Shops dealing with Japanese tea and sweets, honey, glasses, folding fans, candy and chocolates, bread + buns can be visited. There are many restaurants to pick from. We like the Wagyu beef restaurant.”

“Sometimes Russian food is good too! 5 minutes walk from Asakusa Station, Visited "Bona Festa". BRONZE AWARD for 3 consecutive years until 2020 This is a Russian restaurant. I made a reservation for 11:30 on a weekday. Russian-style cabbage rolls 3,620 yen Lunch course: classic borscht and cabbage rolls I asked for it. As the weather gets colder, borscht is great! It is delicious with the flavor of the meat and the sourness of the soup. It's warming up! The cabbage rolls are simmered for 8 hours. Almost melty, with mille-feuille-like cabbage. Ground beef with tomato and sour cream sauce It goes great and is delicious. The final hot coffee looked surprising. There's whipped cream on top and fructose on the rim of the wine glass. It's delicious. It was delicious till the end. [Course content] ①Omakase salad ②Soup: Tomato-flavored borscht soup (or cream soup with acupuncture points) or grilled sea urchin and egg soup) ③Main: Russian-style cabbage rolls boiled in melty sauce (or Russian style soft hamburger) or Wagyu fillet stroganoff or scallops with sea urchin sauce With rye bread ④Dessert: Homemade pudding ⑤Coffee (or tea) It was delicious till the end. Even if the Russian government is to blame for the Ukraine war There's nothing wrong with Russian food!”

“Had to call early to reserve because they have very limited mount of seats. The experience and the wagashi was great! We had the counter seats so we got to watch them prepare the desserts. The hot wine and the drinks that comes with the set goes very well with the wagashi as well. Very satisfactory experience and will definitely come back again!”

“Tirol is a 10yen+ apiece chocolate sold in convenient shop like Family Mart, Lawsons or 7-Eleven. Over here, this speciality shop sell only Tirol related items. Some Tirol chocolate are sold only in different region of Japan and can't get elsewhere. However, you can find those exclusive Tirol here. You can also find Tirol stationary and bags here, all of them are so cute. The 500yen for 100 pieces of Triol chocolates bag is a must buy. Recommended for Tirol fans.”
