“Went for a birthday celebration of an old friend who had booked a private exclusive table one week ago but they seem to have lost the booking anyway with good weather we took advantage to the outdoor dining.Then onwards it improved . I would call it Indian Chinese cuisine as that's what they called Chinese food in India . American Chopsuey with a fried egg sweet sour fish/chicken common in Indian Chinese and taste the same. We had vegan guest so it was difficult to cater to different taste style but they worked around it well”

They serve and clear items promptly and top up your tea regularly despite being very busy. Dishes came out real quick too. Pork belly and signature fried rice were great. As the space isn't that big, just be prepared for the noise and enjoy the bustling atmosphere!”

“A Hong Kong style family restaurant located inside a shopping mall. Quality seemed to have dropped with char siew not tasting like they had been properly grilled, very chewy and hard. The other dishes were nothing to shout about too, and mostly were not exactly warm when served. The milo dinosaur with a dinosaur ice was cute but tasted a bit diluted. Kind of overpriced for the standard of food served.”

“We celebrated our mom’s birthday. We had a wonderful experience. Ordered Beggar’s Chicken in advance and the dish which was an eye opening experience. We ordered Peking duck, home made tofu,sweet sour pork, braised egg plant. The service was great. We bought a birthday cake and they decorated it with longevity buns which was complimentary. My mom had a wonderful birthday experience”

“Overall the food is good, but there is room for improvement. The food were all cooked nicely, although a lot of seafood dishes tasted similarly in terms of the sauce. The food motions were generally individual portions. I would say the jellyfish starter and sea cucumber dish stood out to me. Service could also be improved. It seems there were only 2 senior staff with the rest being older workers mainly focused on just bringing plates from the kitchen. This meant longer waiting times to be served as sometimes the main staff is busy at other tables. And dishes came out in a random order as well instead of in a flow, with awkward long gaps between some dishes. For a full service restaurant with the prices they have, I think the standard was below average.”

“My family and I came to Gu Ma Jia on Saturday for dinner. As it was a last minute decision, we did not make any reservations. Nevertheless, we had a table within a minute of arrival. The lady boss and her daughter were extremely friendly and service-oriented. The menu they provided were very clear and informative on the dishes they have. So we ordered 2 of their signature dishes - the Assam Fish Head and Kyoto Pork Ribs. As I do not like to eat fish, I ordered an additional Prawn Paste Chicken Wings, and wrapped up with a Stir Fried Garlic Broccoli. The dishes came fast despite many tables at the lower level being occupied. The Assam Fish Head was sourish and mildly spicy, perfect to go with rice. The gravy was delicious! The Kyoto Pork Ribs was a bit too sourish for my liking, but the meat was extremely tender. I ate at least least the dish myself. The Prawn Paste Chicken Wings and Fried Garlic Broccoli were of a decent standard. All the food were finished rather quickly despite the adults being not hungry, an account of how tasty the food were. Finally, ordered 2 mango puddings for the my kids and the my in laws shared the lady boss recommended Kefir Jelly dessert. Not sure what was the name of the dessert, and did not managed to get a picture of it. But my mother in law loved it! My wife and I tried a spoon of it. The texture was like aiyu jelly with some citrus elements. This dessert would be perfect after a very filling dinner. Highly recommend this place to everyone. And we will be back soon for the tasty food again!”

We had quite a lot and my personal top 3 favourites were the crispy roast pork, shark fins and mini egg tarts. The crispy roast pork was my num 1. It had a perfect crispy exterior and succulent meat inside.The shark fins in stone pot were super tasty with a rich, savory taste.
