“Nice chill laid back ambience (bit dark) with low prices ($3-4 lager at Happy hour) which tastes decent according to my friends. There is no food here but there are many decent eateries close by. Non happy hour price is about $8 for most lagers. The cocktails are $12 and wines $10 ish.”

Clockwork Bar

“Reasonable priced drinks in a place festered w/ punk graffiti and rock decor, definitely a place to call 'home'. The bartenders always on the ready, the tunes always blaring but not annoying. If the Joker was real this is the place where he will hang night after night before and after bashing Batman. Charge your anarchist batteries in this power house of conventional sense defying.”

“Bra-topia! Ladies of the East Village, have you lost a bra recently? If so, then chances are that you need look no further than this bar! The walls of this establishment are festooned in bras, lost and found, of every shape, size and color imaginable. Perplexed as to the theme the owners were going for, I asked an American friend for help. ‘Oh, I don’t know, this bar is giving me Southern,’ she said, ‘like… ALABAMA!’ It appears, therefore, that ladies from the South must be very good at losing their bras. Or, at the least, taking them off in bars. I wonder what the old men of Jerusalem who got together to write a book some 2,000 years ago would have to say about that.”

The Grisly Pear Greenwich Village

“I came here on June 1st for a comedy show without any planning. I walked past the bar and two men were advertising a comedy show for $20 cash. I saw after the fact that tickets are $10 online and was charged $20 at the door. I am not complaining well worth. Just wish I would’ve known sooner. Definitely funnier after drinking some. I believe there’s a two drink minimum. The comedians were funny I suppose not the best in the world but we definitely did laugh a lot and have a great time. Nice venue. Friendly bartenders. The comedians really engaged with the audience. This was my first comedy show and I would love to go to more in the future after this wonderful introduction.”

“Cute, kitschy bar with eclectic decor from Japanese face masks on the wall to random Bollywood art hanging in the back, and the coolest bathroom. Stopped by early Friday night like typical happy hour time, just a handful of tables inside but there was plenty of space, plus some tables outside. Approachable and friendly bar staff. Happy hour drinks are a steal I think $8-12, and really other good seasonal drinks too that were $15-16. Amazing playlist, early 2000s hip hop, some of my favorite Ashanti songs (maybe a niche reference). Stopped by as a quick pit stop before a movie, definitely wished we stayed longer.”

“My bf and I had a show at Webster hall and found this hole in the wall to waste some time in. Not a fancy or cute bar but definitely a fun cool place. They played a lot of throw back music and the vibe and people were great. Just unfortunate they closed. Tried to go to them to tonight and they were All boarded up. :(”

“We loved this bar. Despite being three gay men and a straight woman, we felt truly welcome. The woman at the bar was huge fun and had a massive personality. We put loads of camp classics on the juke box and the bar came alive (like to Dancing Queen). Everyone who came in the bar was respectful that it was a lesbian bar.”

“I've been perfoming at and hosting at Parkside for years - I just started my own series there and it has been the most seamless of experiences working with Gavin (and Dex by extension!). I'm given freedom to curate the way I want and have been able to create a safe space for all artists thanks to the great management. I love all of the Bartenders, Chaz the bouncer, and everyone in between. A wonderful home away from home~! Thanks for everything yall!”

“Famous dive in the east village, where you can still find the New York of your old dreams - the fun, ragged, dark, twilight city of neighborhood friends and toughs, a little haunted and lovable, full of drinks that hug and send you rocking, trying to get around the next corner.”

“Really great vibe and cocktails, could see this being a nice first date spot. It's intimate, the music curation and sound is well done, and the cocktails deliver. I had The Martini. The olive oil was mixed in instead of floating on the top, which I was happy about, it gave it a more well rounded savory flavor. My friend got the Negroni Whip which was good, the balance of bitter to sweet was there. Tho it was a bit heavy for me, I couldn't see drinking a whole cocktail of it.”

Maiden Lane
4.4

Closed until 10:00 AM

162 Avenue B, New York, NY 10009, United States

“Why is the sun always shining and the weather always perfect when I end up at Maiden Lane? Could be a coincidence. Could be witchcraft. The tinned fish and salty drinks create the perfect city-coastal escape. The tanned California transplants working out inside Tompkins Sq. Park will also make you feel as though you’re at a beach. Just beware the occasional villager passing by who makes eye contact with you as you drool over your martini and fish.”
