Plaza College

Queens Blvd, Queens, NY 11375, United States

“As a upcoming plaza college student, the application/ transfer process has been a very smooth transition! Because of the best and most helpful staff and mentors including Jennifer Nebling I am excited to start this new journey at plaza and eventually be part of the accelerated nursing program in the future! They really hear you out about your concerns and advocate for you for your best interest. Plaza College has exceeded my expectations, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to pursue my education here.”

The Culinary Institute Of America

Closed until 08:30 AM

1946 Campus Dr, Hyde Park, NY 12538, United States

“The premier cooking school in the United States lives up to its rep. The campus is compact, filled with beautiful buildings and perfectly situated above the Hudson River. The students and staff seem genuinely happy to be there and the food, of course, is amazing. The open house is something you don’t want to miss if you or your child is considering attending. It’s a full day of information gathering, touring and being able to speak to students and staff.”

The Juilliard School
4.5
( 8 reviews )

60 Lincoln Center Plaza, New York, NY 10023, United States

“Amazing experience. It is a beautiful place. You can enter into some areas or halls of the school with pictures of great artists and dancers. The area in front of it is amazing, with seats where you can admire the view, rest and have great time with your friends, as nice pictures. It is worth visiting it if you like dance and know a little about the school. It is well-know and many times appears in hollywood movies. It is New York so I think it is best to get there by metro (subway), if you are by car, you have to find a park-in-lot and pay for it. Well located too, close to many other touristics sites, stations and restaurants.”

University At Albany

1400 Washington Ave, Albany, NY 12222, United States

“Absolutely enjoyed my 1.5yrs at SUNY Albany after transferring from a private university. It was close to home and got the work done to get that bachelors degree. Their commuter community was excellent with designated commuter area for students to connect or a place to do homework. I joined the anti-human trafficking club after learning about it in international policy course and helped out with some fundraising and posters. I even interned at the International Student scholars office for Dr. Elliott director of ISSS. He is one of the smartest and nicest professors that I’ve met and took a class from. To this day (I graduated 6yrs ago), I still connect with him as a mentor and sometimes we go out for coffee when I’m back in the upstate NY area. Their business school you have to maintain a 5.5 GPA in order to stay in the program. Usually after a semester of taking business courses, 60-70% of business students dropped bc they cannot maintain the high GPA standards. I was one of them unfortunately, but I was able to use my business course credits towards a Business administration minor. Luckily at UAlbany there are plenty of other excellent programs in sciences, liberal arts or engineering. I was able to transfer to the liberal arts - urban planning department for globalization studies major. Dr Brumes?! I forgot his name was the most helpful advisor at UAlbany. He helped me so much for counseling the 300,400 level international courses to take in order to graduate quickly. Bc I transferred from a private school, those business and gen ed credits were able to transfer over to the urban planning globalization program. I even took a summer semester to complete part of the curriculum while working part time jobs. I was able to graduate with my BAs within 1.5yrs at UAlbany. On the bright side, I only took out at most $5k in loans and paid it off within 2yrs after finding full jobs in CA.”

John Brown Farm State Historic Site
4.7
( 8 reviews )

115 John Brown Rd, Lake Placid, NY 12946, United States

“While vacationing in the area, we decided to stop at the historical John Brown Farm. When you first pull up to the site, you notice the bronze statue of Brown with an African American boy. Memorial Field has many cards posted with various instances of injustice that have taken place over time to people and it just made me so said to read some of them. It made me stop and think that at any time, no matter the situation, that that could have been me. As you walk down the path that takes you to the house, the small cemetary of where Brown is buried is to the left. A large bolder with two bronze placards tells of who all is buried with Brown. Across from the bolder are other grave markers, those of his children. Upon entering the house, the parlor is to your right. The room is modestly furnished and the only two pieces that actually belong to Brown and his wife are the wooden desk and bookcase. The other pieces allow you to get a sense of, what the furnishing may have looked like during that time. If time permits, I would love to take another tour of the house and barn before we leave the area to go back home, mostly to take more photos of inside the home and barn. If you love history then you definitely want to stop and check it out. Definetly worth stopping. Operate on donations from the public.”

Apex Technical School

11-05 44th Dr, Queens, NY 11101, United States

“Good experience. Hard work, effort, and a positive mindset do not go unrecognized amongst these instructors. Instructors like Mr. Mac, Mr. Allen, Mr. Wong and Mr. Watkins are industry veterans who put in the time and effort to ensure you understand material as well as technique. Thanks to these individuals I have made great stride in the electrical profession as a junior electrical mechanic in a private company. I graduated in October of 2023 and have found that I was provided a useful education that set the foundation for success in the field. Special thanks to Mr. Mac for being an excellent mentor even after I graduated.”
