“We stopped here for lunch after visiting the Kilauea Lighthouse. Both of us ordered the famous ahi wrap and sat at one of the shade-covered tables just outside the restaurant. Note that the interior is quite small and there's no seating in there. There is ample outdoor seating just outside, however, and this worked just fine for us! You could also take your food for a picnic at the beach nearby but we were too hungry to wait :) The ahi wrap is one of the most popular items on the menu and for good reason. We both absolutely loved it! It had a great combination of textures and flavors. It was hearty and satisfying but not heavy either. I can honestly say it is one of my favorite sandwiches I've ever had and one that I will definitely need to return to get again on a future trip to Kauai. The other items on the menu look good too! They have tacos and burritos and plates as well as fresh poke. Even if you try something different from the FABULOUS ahi wrap, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.”

“Our family had very mixed reviews. Two loved it and two wouldn't return. The bowl for $14 including a canned drink provided enough food to completely satisfy two adults. I would order extra garlic for the garlic chicken. There was a nice bed of rice that soaked up the sauce from the garlic chicken. The ones who didn't like it found the garlic was lacking. Although, I wanted more garlic I still enjoyed it. It's a tiny window where you order and we easily found meter parking on the road nearby. Place is a bit grungy, so if you want new, fresh, clean, it's not the right place for you. Also, had a constant stream of people picking up orders. Prices are higher than what is shown on other posts. Still great value!”

“11/2023 We were looking for some late might grub and had a hard time because all former 24-hour eateries like Zippys and Liliha Bakery close early nowadays. Heard about this 24-hour gem from the bartender at The Row, which was a few minutes away. Nice choice and interestingly busy in the wee hours of the morning. When you graveyard shift contractors standing in line, you know it's gotta be good. Just take a look at the menu. Couldn't narrow it down and had to have aunty taking orders to decide for me. And ALL of it was onolicious! FYI, Fridays are Prime Rib day. I'm just saying you might want to do that and the small tail lobster one weekend. Everything we had was good and hearty. I'm glad this drive-in exists in this part of town for late night, breakfast, and all around the clock munchies! 😉🤙✌️”

The price - Way over priced for street tacos even for Hawaiian standards. 3 plain tacos for $9.00. $0.50 per topping per taco. $0.25 per plate for credit card transaction. Food quality - Just bad. The Greece was dripping, the shells were clearly left out for a few days to harden. I am really amazed I even paid. The pork wasn't edible, it was rock hard and crunchy. The Steak and chicken were the same. Service - No Aloha, hellos, mahalo, thank you, nadda. It was if we were inconveniencing them to order anything. Location - This place should be called "hole in the wall tacos.". You literally walk up to the building and you look into this square window where it's nearly pitch black.There's no seating anywhere outside. My advice to Ocean Street Tacos - Look at your competition and see what they are doing. It's really quite hard to mess up cooking a taco COMPLETELY in every aspect. Show some gratitude for those who come to support your business. Learn how to prepare your food. Do you guys even have a food handler's permit? It was very dirty, and the food had clearly been sitting out for hours. Watch YouTube perhaps on how to "cook tacos" In short, there are far better taco places on the island for the same price or even a bit more. These establishments are the exact opposite of Ocean Street Tacos, therefore the increase in price is worth it.”
