“This is the filthiest Cava i have ever been in. As we walked in the dinning room was extremely unorganized. Upon reaching the front line the food seemed sad and old. When portioning our food the employees used 1 use cups to measure out the protein, at which im guessing is to ensure good food cost. We were also told the rice would be extra for more servings, all that is fine and i would have been okay with it if the restaurant wasn't as disgusting as it is. The floor behind the line was a mess with greens all over. A used SaniTowel was left on the serving line next to my Entrée. After leaving the line we headed over to get drinks only to find the soda fountain and bubblers were absolutely filthy! The soda fountain has so much build up its comical... like i said i wouldnt have any concerns on the portioning of my meal if i knew all aspects of the restaurant are being taken care of. Clearly the wrong things are being worried about. Food safety and Cleanliness should always be the number 1 priority and concern. Without proper food safety you won't have any guest to micromanage your food cost on..”

“just great all-around. I got the 2 wing & 2 catfish strips plate with gumbo, fries, & hush puppies. my wife got the veggie plate with okra, hush puppies, greens, and mac & cheese. we shared the cornbread muffins & a large cup of red kool aid. all the food tasted good! it was ready when expected (about 30 mins after we put in a to-go order). the food wasn’t greasy, which is great. they had a great option for vegetarians! 10/10 recommend.”

But the past few times we’ve gone for a morning taco run, we’ve experienced issues: Egg shells in tacos Hair in tacos (picture attached) Incorrect order was taken and no repeat/confirmation of order (worker at register did refund us and we were appreciative) These are easy fixes and we understand stuff happens, but lately it’s been more bad experiences than good.”

“Not much just easy to go Vietnamese sub places in Austin except Baguette House. Their subs are pretty good, but not a fan of the French baguette bread. Wish they had the traditional viet style baguette bread. The bread was abit hard that it cut my gums. The filling like the mayo, pate and cold cuts were good but just felt like they cheap out with the filling. For now it’s my to go viet sub place.”

“The restaurant is located at the corner of Caesar Chavez and Chicon. So there is traffic which makes the area noisy. Fortunately there is some seating behind the restaurant which is quieter. Several guests brought dogs with them. You place your order at a window and are handed a buzzer which vibrates when your food is ready. You then go to another window to pick up your order. All the seating is outdoors. There are fans for keeping the air moving. I enjoyed my pulled chicken sandwich. My friend said the cheese steak was good but felt that for the price a bag of chips or small side should be included. Beer and wine are available. Water is self serve. A cup of ice can be requested when you order.”

It was my significant other’s birthday and they did a wonderful job making him feel special, along with all of us. It was incredibly engaging, intimate, very informative on the different types of fish they were using, and everything was immaculate. So much of the fish just melted in our mouth. Definitely somewhere I would come again for a special occasion or if I wanted to impress a client!”

If you are Filipino/a who knows how Philippine cuisine should taste like, or anyone else who knows the tastes.... DO NOT come here because their Google listing appealed to you because of the great photos and menu prices, you will be highly disappointed. Don't waste your time travelling to this place and spending your money on the food. It's a lot of food in that box... tocino, pancit, rice, lechon kawali, chicken adobo, 1 lumpiang Shanghai roll, and 1 mini vegetable fried lumpia... again, awesome variety right? NONE of it tasted good. Ok, of course this is a subjective review but... I grew up on Filipino food, both at home and countless other homes and Filipino restaurants. I am no expert but I know how Filipino food should taste. This is THE first time in my 50 years of living I came into a restaurant and sampled basically all the staples and I found ALL dishes I ordered both unappealing and unsatisfying. So much so, I worked hard on eating at least half of it, just so I wouldn't waste it all. What's the story here? How is this place called Carabao Express? (I love this name by the way, another reason I decided to come and try it). It definitely made me think as I was dining there. One characteristic of a Filipino restaurant is staff... usually, there's at least one Filipino person. Here, there was none. Enough said.”

The Vietnamese coffee sounds interesting and always try mango but they don't allow sampling at the moment due to covid which is a pretty ridiculous excuse in 2022 in my opinion.
