“We having been using this service for many years traveling to Catalina. The main boat is being repaired so the current boat is much smaller. We got to the dock an hour before departure and stood with our bicycles where we have been standing for every previous trip. When we arrived there were about 30 people in line. In the past the bicycles are loaded first by the crew. This time the owner came to us 45 minutes after we arrived and said we had to get in line with the bicycles. We have never done this before and now there were over 100 people in line. We waited for everyone to board before us. Now there were no seats available in the general section so we were told we could ride outside. Really, 7:30 am with no sun, cold, windy and we are seniors. They said we could buy VIP seating which we did. On the way back we boarded first with VIP and placed our bicycles were they told us. We then went upstairs to VIP. When the boat docked we came downstairs and were shocked at what we saw. Our bicycles were buried under 100s of pounds of luggage. See pictures. We now had to wait for everyone to remove their luggage from on top of our bicycles. We had 2 bicycles and a couple of guys each had an E-bike. One of the E-bikes had visible damage when all the luggage was removed. There was a total disregard for our personal property. When the crew was confronted they absolutely did not care about our concerns. I don’t know if there is new management or new owners but not the experience we were accustomed to. We did not recognize any of the crew on this trip.”

The views of both the bay and the city are amazing. If you have a dog it is also a great place to talk them for a walk as well.”

“We had a fantastic time touring Star Island! The ferry was clean and efficient, with a variety of drinks and snacks to choose from. Our tour guide Peggy was very knowledgeable, and gave us interesting information while on the boat, and on the island. Star Island is a beautiful place, and now I’m inspired to come back someday to stay at the Oceanic Hotel. This trip is not just for tourists! I’d recommend locals go too! There is so much interesting history to learn, and things to see! The one thing I wish is that we had more time on the island! It’s an hour ride out, an hour to site see, then an hour back to Portsmouth.”

“A beautiful place with a beautiful view of San Francisco. Houses with incredible facades, next to the sea and high in cascades in the hills. Restaurants, bars, shops... everything is done with taste and the coast with all possible clubs for water sports. I can't remember when I've felt more beautiful walking around a city than in Sausalito. If you are visiting San Francisco or somewhere in the area, a visit to this place is a must! Perhaps the best location for living in the wider area.”

“Absolutely avoid parking in the assigned parking area! It’s not worth it. You might as well drive to San Francisco yourself. My family and I drove down 3 hours for a Giants game. We thought taking the fairy would be fun. Came back and our Cadillac converter was stolen from our car. This WAS DONE IN PURE DAYLIGHT. This place definitely lacks security. There is absolutely no security cameras. Sketchy people parked all around that will sit there for hours watching people as they leave. Homeless tents everywhere and doubled the 3 hours we were gone. Last time we choose to go. Environment is not safe.”

“Great experience overall. Took the SunRunner down from the beaches (drops off a few blocks away). Pre bought tickets and added to my Apple Wallet for quick access (nice feature) but you can buy tickets day off at the booth. Wouldn’t recommend though as there’s limited availability. We took the Ferry over for a Lightning Game on a Monday (limited runs on some days just for the games). Drinks on board were $9 for most beers and $16 for liquor doubles. Not terrible, but surprising. Had a few snack like items to purchase on the boat too. Lots of seating options. We got on quick so we could have a little table by the window. Outdoor seating as well towards the top/back of boat. Careful sitting up there before take off though as the exhaust was super heavy to breath in. Couple bathrooms on board were well cleaned and maintained. Staff was super nice and all come down for the season w the boat. Chatted w a few of the crew. Views were stunning. Took in a great sunset view while crossing over on the 4:45pm St Pete>Tampa.”

“When you go to their website for schedules they say arrive at least 15 min before departure. We arrived at 8:30 am. It’s 10:45 am right now and I’m still in 2nd line waiting. I don’t think I will get a ferry until noon. They let in only 10 cars at a time. We have seen 3 ferries leave us so far. Commercial trucks keep coming on left most lane and getting on like workers, UPS etc that take spots of 2 cars. People are fed up. Terrible. I would have paid to have a reserved ferry.”
