“We took mom for her birthday, she wanted Filipino food. We haven't been to Tapsilog in a long time. With more people, you can order extra food to share family-style. We ordered BBQ pork skewers, spinach laing, dinuguan, Shanghai lumpia, lechon kawali, and garlic rice. The servings were generous and the food tasty. The service was friendly. I liked that the lechon was fried but not dry and the skin was crispy. My parents appreciated that the food was not overly salty as well.”

“SF East Bay. Maybe because I just came from Manila where of course everything is authentic tasting but the food here was BAD. I knew there was a reason why we haven’t eaten here for at least a decade & last night was a reminder of exactly why. Except for the chicharon bulaklak which seriously you just need to deep fry so it’d be hard to mess this up & the beef ribs sinigang which was tender & good, the other dishes were just not good. The sisig was bad, I couldn’t taste the bagoong in the bagoong rice & the garlic adobo shreds tasted like how I think deep fried paper would taste. I don’t recommend eating here at all.”

“The building looks like an old Pizza Hut, but the food is definitely not generic franchise. I tried the pakbet and the sinigang. I wanted more bagoong on the pakbet, but I still ate all the ampalaya (a first for me), !Not much meat in the pakbet. The sinigang was deliciously sour, with a nice piece of bangus. Service was quick and friendly! Will be back to try the kare-kare.”

“We dine in today for lunch me and my friend this is our first time to eat here, we drove 2hour and 30mins just to eat here because we craves filipino foods,so we came and be seated like 15mins we ordered we wait the our orders and it came, we ordered Ginataang Kalabasa and sitaw the a pork sinigang because sinigang is my favorite, we notice that the pork meat in sinigang looks pale and looks old, it's like it's been in the freezer for so long there's a after taste of it too of being old, i know that after taste because i been cooking sinigang too, plus the petchay theyve used was not fresh at all, you can see in the picture.then our ginataang kalabasa/sitaw was too salty, we informed our server that the foods was not good. She called their "chef" according to her,the chef 👨🍳 explain about the foods and insisted the there's nothing wrong with the foods, and we tell him our comments too but he doesn't admit that the foods was terrible, he said the Ginataang kalabasa was salty because of alamang duhhh of course its gonna be salty because of Alamang that's why you need to adjust the taste of it before you served it to the customers, we know how to cook those dishes, he makes us so ignorants of the filipino dishes. So our first experience was not good with them. We don't really want to complain just want to give them our feedbacks so they can make a change of it instead of apologizing to us they make us ignorants. See photos below.”

“This review is based off of an Uber eats delivery. This is solid Filipino food. I’m pretty sure if I ate these items at the location and straight from the kitchen, it would have been better. I ordered their Kare Kare, fresh lumpia, sisig with garlic rice and their pancit palabok. Their Kare Kare was above average and the bagoong was on point. There was lots of tender meat pieces along with juicy beef chunks. Overall a solid dish. The sisig with garlic rice was pretty good also and when mixed with the garlic rice it’s an excellent combination. The fresh lumpia was also good but I misordered but it was still descent. The pancit palabok was very flavorful and overall the food was great. I’d definitely order from here again and probably try their food at the restaurant for the full dining experience.”

“My family and I come here once a while to go here since they serve more unique Filipino dishes since most of Filipino restaurants don’t serve Java Rice for example. This is a very small restaurant and I thought today is going to be full, but surprisingly, it isn’t. People usually go through takeout orders. I remember that they write down food items at the chalkboard, but it’s empty for now. I never bothered researching what Java Rice is, but it’s supposed to be Filipino fried rice fused with turmeric as its main flavor. The BBQ Chicken is really good especially when it comes with its own gravy. I never bothered trying other menu items besides what I have today, but definitely will try others when I come back!”

“We ignored this place living in this area for about 8 years, so don’t make the mistake I made. The “nilagang baka” (beef broth with veggies) is definitely recommended. Their “pancit” (Filipino’s version of chow mein), “pakbet” (veggies with pork and shrimp paste) and the “beef kaldereta” (Filipino style beef stew) were awesome and really authentic taste on my opinion.”
