“This park is the bomb dot com. Playground has everything. Walking path has awesome views and is a great length. Sled hills gradually get steeper as you go south with something for everyone. So lucky to have this park so close.”

Smith Creek Park
4.8
( 8 reviews )
Open until 08:00 PM

633 Shenandoah St, Wilmington, NC 28411, United States

“This park was refreshing find. I've lived here for 32 years and never know it was there. It is tucked back in a residential area all by itself. It's a beautiful lake, clean. filled with trees all around it, a big walking past, a playground, one shelter that is first come first serve, of kayak canoe ramp that you can use to drive up to drop off your boats, green grass and a convenient parking lot. It was beautiful and the perfect place for us to let the little buddies learn how to kayak. Very grateful that there was the planning to save this sweet area for the community.”

Edgar Evins State Park
4.7
( 16 reviews )
Open until 04:30 PM

1630 Edgar Evins State Park Rd, Silver Point, TN 38582, United States

“This review is not for the park, but for the Merritt Ridge Trail within the park. This trail is 8.4 miles round trip from the parking area. The initial trail is a nice walk, but once you get to the connector trail, then to Merritt Ridge, it becomes an obstacle course, navigating through and around fallen trees. At times, getting around the debris can get you off course. I had to use my phone map app to get us back to the trail. Once even using a compass to reorient our path. The trails are well marked, but getting around the trees can make finding those markers difficult. This trail has been seriously neglected and is no longer safe for the average hiker. It took us over 6 hours to hike a trail that once was my favorite place to go.”

Trough Creek State Park
4.8
( 8 reviews )
Open until 05:00 PM

16362 Little Valley Rd, James Creek, PA 16657, United States

“We had a great time at this state park all the sites are worth seeing bathrooms are a little rough in some spots and they are pit toilets. Sites look close but we stayed in the cabin which is actually in the opposite direction of the camp sites. The cabin itself was very nice peice of property but needs a bit of upkeep as we had a few issues with well anything that involved water. The size of the cabin and being secluded made up for some of its down falls and it had air conditioning that while loud sometimes worked great”

Elk River Falls
4.7
( 16 reviews )

Elk River Rd, Elk Park, NC 28622, United States

“Beautiful little falls! Not much of a hike from the parking area. Some stairs down to below the falls leads to a viewing area. Lots of cool spots to explore and take pics. I would love to come back and fish here. Saw lots of trout both above and below the falls.”

Yellowwood State Forest
4.7
( 8 reviews )
Open until 11:59 PM

772 Yellowwood Lake Rd, Nashville, IN 47448, United States

“We hiked a section of the Tecumseh Trail from Prang Pond to Yellowwood Dam, roughly 6-7 miles. There was a light dusting of snow at our start but pretty much all gone by the time we reached the dam. This is a great hike, well maintained and clearly marked. We were the only hikers on the trail, albeit it was overcast and a bit dreary so laybe that is why. There are a few slight inclines, but nothing too serious. You do need 2 vehicles, one parked at each section end or be prepared to double your mileage.”

Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park
4.7
( 16 reviews )

4480 Fort Lincoln Rd, Mandan, ND 58554, United States

“Arriving, had a nice chat with the ranger at the gate getting some recommendations. From there, we went to the Custer House for a tour (additional fee above the entry fee) and well-worth it. The one hour guided tour with Don was excellent and informative. We then crossed the parade grounds to the barracks, then up to the blockhouses for an excellent view of the Missouri River/prairie and visited the cemetery. Back down the hill to the Mandan village where you can go into some of the earth lodges and finishing up in the visitors center which had some great artifacts for the fort, the Mandan village and local tribes and the Civilian Conservation Corps. All in all, a great time.”

“This is a beautiful park. There are picnic tables, pavilions, charcoal grills, and plenty of shade and space to spread out. Perfect for a casual visit or birthday party. The playground is large and consists of two levels, with equipment for younger and older children. The water and wildlife are beautiful. We love walking the trails and watching the ducks and other feathered, furred, or scaled friends. There are also paddleboats for rent, a public restroom, a zip line, and a small fishing pier.”
