“Love this place. One of the only “lakes” in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Very peaceful. Paddle boat rentals are great. Lots of parking, trails are great along the water and there is plenty to explore. Will say that the picnic areas are tough for those with small kids, all the tables near the water are on a slope.”

“INCREDIBLE! COOL! AMAZING! INFORMATIVE! GREAT! MEMORABLE! INTERESTING! WONDERFUL! i could continue with the positive words but if you haven't already booked a guided tour after seeing all of the other 5 star reviews, what are you waiting for? i highly, highly suggest visiting this place for a tour. we booked ours the night before a small road trip / day trip to Oceanside from LA County and i expected this to be good but it completely surpassed all of our expectations. we were led by "bert" who said he hadn't been working there long but it seemed like he was a natural when talking about the process the oysters go through, the equipment and really anything else that popped up on the tour or a question someone asked him. we honestly couldn't stop talking about how cool the sustainable development is for the rest of the day, their mission and the great tasting samples of the oysters at the end of the tour. i do advise arriving a few minutes early to your tour as it is a small parking lot on site. we are planning on purchasing some product in the future and hopefully visiting again as well because we had such a great experience from beginning to end.”

( 8 reviews )
Open until 04:30 PM

2615 Angler Ave, Hemet, CA 92545, United States

“Good spot to see Southern California wildflowers. It can get crowded on weekends so get there early. Also pay attention to schedule hours as they close early even in Spring Daylight Savings Time. Most people just wonder around the wildflowers fields in the 1st three miles. But you can hike completely around the man made lake, or it is and easy biking trail. Beyond the 1st three miles much more quiet and peaceful. On a clear day great views of San Jacinto and Santiago Peaks. Please stay on the trails and do not pick or trample the wildflowers. They are for everyone to enjoy.”

The best one is the Tamarack. It's a beautiful place to get out into nature and close to Sacramento. Lots of stuff for kids too. Pool, lake, pool table, ice cream shop, baseball field, volleyball. Just a really great place to camp.”

“Love this hidden gem. I had never heard of this spot before making reservations. I wasn't sure what to expect. So peaceful and beautiful. The beach is small, but you owe it to yourself to walk south on a low tide. You will be the only footprints for over 2 miles. The cliffs the cliffs are so cool to behold. The campground is small, but well run. Everyone was very friendly and really quiet at night. I can't wait to go back again. The restrooms and showers are well maintained and cleaned by a really hard working staff. There's a camp store that's open Friday to Monday for little goodies and trinkets.”

Moss Landing State Beach
4.6
( 8 reviews )

California 95039, United States

“Beautiful long spread of a beach with a harbor. There are different entry points. It’s perfect for a long jog or walk. There are bathrooms in certain parts of the beach. We come to visit and use the harbor to load kayaks into the water. There are signs that warn of strong current & waves and swimming is not recommended. I swim alot of beaches but never this one. Only experienced surfers venture out. There are many sea animals to watch including seals, otters, dolphins, whales, sharks and birds. There’s nice sand dune vegetation. You can capture a gorgeous sunset here. There’s specific places on the beach you can take your dog because this beach has endangered bird species that breed there spring, summer and fall.”
