Little Tallapoosa Park

1930 GA-113, Carrollton, GA 30116, United States

“Camped over memorial weekend at the tent site #13. Absolutely wonderful, mostly shaded and quiet. Close to the bathhouse if needed. Family members stayed in the equine area and the RV area and both were wonderful. Trails are nice, splash pad was a hit and the playground.”

“Julie is Amazing!!! my wife and I came to this park early Sunday morning and it was quite a drive. Julie is the park ranger who is in the welcome center and she could not have been more welcoming, energetics, and excited to see us! We took the tour of the mill, and it was absolutely fascinating. The relics that are preserved here are truly phenomenal and it’s unbelievable that it still works to this very day. We saw a huge amount of wildlife as well. We saw a black rat snake, a gray heron And of course lots of squirrels and fish. Rentals for water equipment are very reasonable, and would definitely like to come back! Cannot say enough about how good of a tour guide Julie was. Restrooms were super clean as well!”

Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge

( 8 reviews )

718 Round Oak Juliette Rd, Hillsboro, GA 31038, United States

“Visitor center displays were ok. The ranger we talked to was not very helpful in answering questions. He could definitely use more training on being courteous to visitors. Wildlife drive completely unremarkable.”

Taylor Farm Park

Closed until 08:00 AM

1380 Pine Valley Rd, Powder Springs, GA 30127, United States

“I walk here multiple times a week. The ground crew takes great care of the place however, homeless people begging for rides, condoms in the parking lots, discarded chicken bones for dogs to choke on (I actually witnessed this) makes me feel like security is needed. While small children are playing tennis, the people playing basketball are cussing up a storm, even when asked to stop. They only got worse. We left! This is suppose to be a family place, a safe environment but every wk I'm out there, there seems to be more suspicious activity. I haven't been inside the gym area so idk anything about it.”

Ron Henry Horseshoe Bend Park

“Such a delightful park with full access to the river. Good for fishing, canoeing/kayaking or a picnic by the riverbanks. It was a beautiful early fall saturday afternoon and everyone there was quietly and respectfully e joying themselves and the good views”

Lake Winfield Scott Recreation Area
4.7
( 8 reviews )

439 Lake Winfield Scott Rd, Suches, GA 30572, United States

“There was one other camper there. No staff, restrooms closed and water off in the 1st come area of 18 sites but the sites are wonderful. It probably is much more populated during summer with day users. It was a great overnight since we are completely self sufficient. There is a couple trails, one 1.8 miles around the lake and the other goes off into the wilderness.”

Dames Ferry Park
4.7
( 8 reviews )

9546 GA-87, Juliette, GA 31046, United States

“We camped for the first time at Dames Ferry State Park campground back in November and we loved it! Small campground. Tried to take some pictures of each campsite, each picnic shelters, both bathhouse and playground. We enjoyed watching and feeding the ducks and squirrels. They clean the bathrooms everyday and one guy blew off around the bathrooms and road some. The bathroom across of camp site # 21 are new. Not a lot of water pressure in those showers to me. The other bathrooms are heated and it was nice on those cool rainy nights when we wanted to shower up there and not in our camper. Rained just about the whole time we were there. I Loved taking pictures of the sunset each night. They have firewood you can buy. Also have a small library like birdhouse you can get a book and leave one in its place. The water is very clear and beautiful! We will definitely be back.”

Old Federal Campground
4.2
( 8 reviews )

6219 Old Federal Rd, Flowery Branch, GA 30542, United States

“I camped here for a couple of days in August. It is a corp of engineers' location and is a good value. The sites had a concrete pad with a sand/gravel area with a firepit and table. Many of the sites are waterfront. The best sites are on a peninsula, I think, reserved for tent camping. Great sunset views over the lake out there. The sites have 20, 30, and 50 amp breakers and water at each camp site. There are no sewer hookups, but there is a dump station on the way out. It was nice to get out and walk late in the afternoon. There are at least 2 bath houses, but I didn't go inside, so I can't comment as to the condition. There were kids riding bikes, music, campfires, and food cooking. Great place for fun.”
