Hopeville Pond State Park

“We went recently for a ladies camping weekend. The park is very nice, it’s a great place for families looking to have some relaxing time away from a busy life. The park is set up to be more like a community base setting. Every one is friendly and is happy to help with whatever questions you have. What I really love about this park was the hiking/biking trails. No matter what path you take for biking or hiking it leads right back into the park. Therefore you can never get lost in the woods. Another thing I did like was where the facility is located. It’s like a light house to guide you back to your street. The website said no pets but it seem as if no one is going by that rule. I don’t mind people having their pets but when you go to the facility and find a dog in the baby changing table, that clearly violates the rule. I can’t imagine being a parent and being my child to use the facility and lay the child in the same area someone had their dog laying. Other than that it’s a great place to go camping.”

Hidden Acres Family Campground
4.7
( 8 reviews )

47 River Rd, Preston, CT 06365, United States

“I camped at Hidden Acres on the last night of a 12-day solo bike tour in August 2023 as I made my way back toward NYC. I couldn't have better things to say about the experience. They were so accommodating (especially relative to other campsites in the area that I called), and even kept the office open a few minutes past closing to welcome me and help me get situated. The campsite was beautiful and I camped right along the river, so fell asleep to the tranquil sounds of the slow-moving water. Would absolutely revisit and recommend!”

Macedonia Brook State Park
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Open until 06:00 PM

159 Macedonia Brook Rd, Kent, CT 06757, United States

“Nice park for hiking. There is a flat trail and a couple that are very rocky and hard. Follow blue for the longest ad more difficult. Also, it's one of the trials i've seen with best signs even in the hardest parts with rocks. It gets very slippery if there was rain. There a a few parking areas so you can also choose where to park and how much to walk.”

Martha Hart Park
4.3
( 10 reviews )
Open until 11:00 PM

135 Corbin Ave, New Britain, CT 06052, United States

“I enjoy going to Parks all the time it. This part Martha Hart is a very nice park for children in to take your pet here. They have a nice pain that you can walk around and fish if you want to. They have a basketball court here and a baseball field. They even have a swing set for small children to play on. My dog likes coming here because he likes to walk around the pond and look at the little Froggies jump. They have a parking lot that you can park in and walk around the whole part the park isn't that big but it is a nice place just to get out and take a nice walk the park was not crowded when I went there. If anybody has not checked this place out I would recommend checking it out because you will enjoy it here and bring your small child along so they can have some fun as well. And don't forget to bring your pet if you have one dogs love it here too.”
