Hudson Springs Park
4.8
( 8 reviews )

7095 Stow Rd, Hudson, OH 44236, United States

“This park is the bomb dot com. Playground has everything. Walking path has awesome views and is a great length. Sled hills gradually get steeper as you go south with something for everyone. So lucky to have this park so close.”

Catawba Island State Park
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Open until 11:00 PM

4049 E Moores Dock Rd, Port Clinton, OH 43452, United States

“It's a nice breezy spot on a harsh summer day. Mostly just a boat dock and a shelter with picnic tables. Couple interesting rocks to be found if that's your life's leisure space. Lots of dead fish. (Not sure what that says about fish quality or the water health of Lake Erie.) Of all the times and years I spent walking the California coastline, didn't see so many dead fish in one spot.”

Clear Creek Metro Park
4.8
( 8 reviews )
Open until 07:00 PM

23233 Clear Creek Rd, Rockbridge, OH 43149, United States

“Great walking choice if you're looking for an option with stable footing and minimal tripping opportunities. I walked about 6 miles for exercise and enjoyed views of the river and cliffs along the way. I only wish I'd discovered this spot sooner in our week. Even my interaction with the park ranger (Steve, I think) was helpful and friendly. Great place to walk and looked like there were many excellent hiking trails, picnicing spots and even fishing to boot.”

Wallace Lake Park
4.6
( 10 reviews )
Open until 11:00 PM

213 Prospect Rd, Berea, OH 44017, United States

“A very cool lake where you can relax, play with children in the fresh air, there are nets for beach volleyball, you can fish, there is sand near the lake, many tables where you can bring your own food to eat. There is a lot of space, the park is very clean, we come almost every day with our children and spend a lot of time there. It is a beautiful combination with nature”

Winton Woods Campground
4.6
( 16 reviews )

651 Lakeview Dr, Cincinnati, OH 45231, United States

“Wonderful campground. Stay a week or more every year when visiting our daughter that goes to UC. Convenient location. Wonderful park system around it. Nice sites. Mentioned to them that the shower curtains had mildew on them and the shower rings were completely rusted. Voila....new curtains and rings within 24 hours!!! Fantastic job! They have always had recycle bins but now offer composting buckets to borrow and dump when checking out! Love it! We were there for 10 days and headed to Cowen Lake to camp for another week. Was able to dump my recycles AND my compost! Will always stay here when in the area. Only request now is for a kayak launch in the campground.”

Scioto Trail State Park
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Open until 11:00 PM

144 Lake Rd, Chillicothe, OH 45601, United States

“The trails here are great, and are not overly-crowded. You can get a lot of solitude time here. I particularly liked the red trail, which has some very nice overlooks. The orange trail was not marked very well and has lots of off-shoots, so that one can be a challenge to make sure you're still on the right path. Some of the trails do have some good inclines, so beware of that. The fire tower is also super cool, but they have the very top part closed off. You can still get an okay view from the highest section they let you get up to.”

Blue Limestone Park
4.5
( 8 reviews )
Open until 07:45 PM

6 King Ave, Delaware, OH 43015, United States

“This park is a nestled gem of Delaware. The park wasn't too crowded to lose track of the kiddos. And the bathrooms were actually decent. There is a small and large playground to accommodate most ages. Watching the wildlife from the boardwalk was definitely a treat. The park also features "learning on the go" sign games around the park, for the kids to continue learning.”

Blue Rock State Park
4.5
( 8 reviews )

7924 Cutler Lake Rd, Blue Rock, OH 43720, United States

“Clean nice open spaces and it's free. I wouldn't get in the water bc it's lake water and I have eczema but the kids did and love it!”

Kiser Lake State Park
4.4
( 8 reviews )

4889 OH-235, Conover, OH 45317, United States

“This is a nice state park, and they have clearly put some money into making it such. One thing that is really going for it is there are large signs for trail heads that are easily seen while driving on the main road, which is definitely not something you get at other Ohio state parks. There is a playground, a basketball court, lots of restrooms, and lots of campgrounds. There is a marina and a camp store that open/closed seasonally. They are also currently doing construction, so they are continuing to improve this already very nice recreational area. The trails here are great, I'd come back to this one.”

Orchard Hills Park
4.8
( 8 reviews )
Open until 09:30 PM

11340 Caves Rd, Chesterland, OH 44026, United States

“Another beautiful metro park (albeit it in Geauga County). We didn't find site/trails info but someone there told us about the nearby trail head. We took the shortest trail & observed several connections or forks in the trail to more extensive trailing. The largest shelter had multiple picnic tables under cover + we spotted a few other tables on our walk - which they've provided many benches along the way (some without shade) for respite or to enjoy nature. There's a nice looking children's playground there, also. I should have taken more pics...”

Deer Creek State Park Campground
4.7
( 8 reviews )

20635 State Pk Rd 20, Mt Sterling, OH 43143, United States

“Great place to get away to. The sites are large and there is so much room for tents etc. The full hook up sites aren't very level though and the bathhouse aren't always the cleanest. Does seem pricey at $31 for just electricity though. With the Golden Buckeye card there is a discount though.”

Arcola Creek Park
4.6
( 16 reviews )
Open until 11:00 PM

941 Dock Rd, Madison, OH 44057, United States

“This park is a hidden gem in North Madison. It has a short and well maintained trail to a small unguarded beach. A few picnic tables and a wide open field to set your children loose on overlook Lake Erie. To the right of that is a short walk to the beach. I haven’t seen anyone swim here, but I’ve heard people do. The beach is mostly made up of a colorful and eye catching assortment of rocks. My son spends hours throwing them into the lake, but sometimes pauses to join my hunt for beach glass. I love this park and I’m so grateful it’s in Madison!”

Triangle Fishing Lakes
4.1
( 16 reviews )

7427 Franklin Madison Rd, Middletown, OH 45042, United States

“Peaceful calm and a ton of fun for people who like to fish. It has a small menu so you don't go hungry. There are shacks to sit under to prevent sun burns. The scenery is nice. They do have decently big fish to catch. They even have plenty of big fish to catch here as well.”
