“December, 2023 ~ We really enjoyed our stay at Gulfport Municipal Marina. This is our 2nd stay at GMM. The staff was helpful. Thanks TEZ for all your help! GMM is located close to a great town with many shops, restaurants, pubs, and a beach. There are many events in town to enjoy. It is also very close to the Pinella’s Bike/Hike Trail, just a short bike ride to downtown St. Pete. Suggestions: Our first stay, we were lucky enough to stay on the floating dock which is within the marina’s gated area. This time we stayed at a long finger dock, which was gated, but the gate was at the end. We had to leave the fenced-in area every time we left the dock. Now this may not seem like an issue, however, we only had one fob. This means: -we always had to have the fob with us to go anywhere (bathroom, shower, laundry, office, etc.) -you needed the fob to get out! This was ridiculous. We both had to be together to let each other in/out of the dock or bathroom area. VERY frustrating. -the gates are on too tight of a spring, closing on your back if you are trying to get something off the dock. -when we left, we had to walk our fob back, then a staff member had to walk us back to open the gate for us to walk on our dock - you need a drop off box -we did not like the fact that we had to “leave” the marina to go to the bathroom, etc. The fence needs to be a couple feet further so ALL docks are within the gated area Now, all this does not mean we will not stay again. We really LIKE GMM! We plan to come again. It is a safe and clean marina. Unfortunately the best dock (the floating one which is close to office area and within fenced area) is used for bigger boats (ours is a 36) Hopefully these suggestions will be considered and modified in the future. “THE BEST RV PARK AROUND! Thank You Emerald Beach RV resort! Clean, well maintained, The Office staff is Fantastic, Friendly and helpful. Great Location, very Short Drive to The Public Beach in Navarre, also Fort Walton Beach and Pensacola Beach not to awfully far away either. The RV Park itself has its very own private place on the water with a very nice long dock you can fish from or watch the Beautiful sunset! Our Favorite place to RV in the Gulf for sure!”

And even when my shorts got snagged and tore a little on one of the metal benches. The staff was very accommodating and captain Dave was even kind enough to give me a T-shirt when we arrived back at the marina. Would definitely do it again. 😎”

It was such a lovely sunny day when I visited, I should've hung around here for hours. Nice view of Jersey City from here too. Surprisingly quiet when I visited, but I'm not complaining.”

“My whale watching experience was superb! I went on Lady Frances with Capt Cole, Mike & Shayne and they were terrific. On the way out to the "whale zone," they guided us as to what we should do and, once there, they spent a good amount of time just hanging out by the whales so that we could get a good look. We were lucky to have a naturalist named Brian on board who also narrated what we were seeing so that we could identify the different types of whales (thanks, Brian -- I learned more from you in one hour than I did in middle school biology!). I can't even describe what it's like to see these magnificent creatures up close -- it is soul-stirring to say the least. I liked that the crew and Frances Fleet showcased their reverence and respect for the whales, both in person and on their website (which emphasizes that we humans are guests on whale terf and not the other way around). The website was easy to use and there was plenty of free parking. I will most definitely go back and do this again and again!”

“GREAT place to salmon fish on the Pulaski River! It is worth the extra money to get away from the crowds in the public access locations. Guides and staff are excellent and very helpful. We stayed at the Estuary Lodge and fished the DSR property for three days the week of Oct 8. The fish were running well, and we almost limited out every day. So worth the extra money to get on the property and avoid the crazy crowds. We've gone to the DSR and stayed in one of their lodges three years in a row, and next year we will be back. Highly recommended.”
