Allure Camping De Zeven Linden

“What a gem of a campsite! We stayed for 7 nights in a Wooden Shelter in the middle of July 2023. When we first booked I was skeptical as there were no UK/English reviews, however we went ahead with our booking and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in The Netherlands. The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout. The campsite is surrounded by lovely tall trees in the middle of a forest, and the pitches are grassy (as you would expect). Wild birds, rabbits and cats freely and frequently roam the campsite, and are very tame. A blackbird came right up within a metre of us whilst we were having breakfast outside. The Wooden Shelters are equivalent to the wooden camping pods you can stay in in the UK but a slightly different shape (pointed as opposed to round rooves). There is adequate space to offload the contents of a small car when you arrive. The car park is very close to the shelters so you don't need to walk far if you accidentally left something in your car. The shelters lock securely and have curtains to respect your privacy. Should you need to cook food, there is a large patio at the front of your shelter so that you can operate small appliances out of harm's way and without burning any grass. If you are staying in the shelter as a couple it is possible to move the beds close together, then you won't need to worry about bringing an air bed with you. The campsite is central within The Netherlands, and it is quite easy to access many well-known towns and cities by train or car. Local town of Baarn has its own quaint little train station which you can cycle to in about 15 minutes. You can hire a bicycle for EUR 10 - 20 per day from the campsite. Good quality bikes and very easy to ride them on the mostly flat and cycle-friendly Dutch roads. Loads to do in the local area too if you just want to maximise use of cycling and save a bit of money. Great exercise and you will sleep well every night. The campsite was quiet at night. The other campers were very friendly and respectful. They politely wave and say hello when they see you. Learn to say a few basic phrases and greetings in Dutch to help you feel like a local - this applies when you are out and about as well. The facilities at the campsite were also excellent. The sanitary block (toilets, showers etc.) was always kept clean and there was always hot water. The EUR 5.00 credit on my access card was enough to let me shower daily for about 10 minutes. Electricity in your shelter is chargeable over a certain amount but if you only use it for low power devices like lights and charging phones, it's unlikely you'll be charged. The campsite drinking water was of excellent quality so buy several cheap bottles of water from the supermarket then reuse them to take with you on your days out. Tips: pay for your reservation in full by bank transfer at least a week before you arrive. Your Visa and Mastercard cards tend not to be accepted in The Netherlands so you will probably have to pay cash on arrival (unless you already paid by bank transfer in advance). Visa and Mastercard don't seem to be accepted much anywhere except in major tourist cities and places with high tourist traffic. Your cards will work in all the local cash machines though so expect to rely on cash a lot if you don't want to be disappointed.”

“Unpleasant Experience and Difficulty Cancelling Subscription I recently had an unfortunate experience with this company over the past year, leading me to share my dissatisfaction in this review. Despite requesting a subscription cancellation more than half a year ago, the process has been needlessly complicated. Due to back injuries, I sought a statement from my GP confirming my inability to participate in sports. However, they were unable to provide any documentation. Efforts to obtain a statement from a physical therapist were thwarted by long waiting lists or incompatible insurance coverage. What baffles me the most is the company's inability to cancel my subscription, despite the evident lack of gym usage as reflected in their own check-in system. Despite not utilizing their facilities, I continued to be charged consistently, which is both frustrating and unacceptable. I find it disheartening that such difficulties exist in the Netherlands. I hope sharing my experience serves as a cautionary tale for others considering their services.”

Tuibrug 2, 3991 LC Houten, Netherlands

“good sauna etc exp; but cusomer service is really bad. at the end i asked an asian member of staff where the bust stop is or how to get to utrecht and he could not care less. i asked him if there was another member of staff who could help and he said no and went off to talk to other staff members. i had to go and ask a police officer in the end, the place is really remote on a trading estate so is difficult to find. i could not close my locker so i went to get help from a staff member and i was a bother to her.”
