White Elm Petting Farm
4.6
( 16 reviews )

4 White Elm Rd, Bicknacre, Chelmsford CM3 4LR, United Kingdom

“We've been here several times (every year we could get in for Father Christmas which is the best grotto we've seen - even with the two cheeky elves! It is much better than another farm's grotto we've visited in the past.) The farm has got better every time we've been. Play areas are upgraded from our last visit (really like the new to us tractor area with tunnel, garage and road markings.) And there's some really interesting animals - the spotty pigs and black and white sheep being a favourite. Easy to interact with the animals too with them coming for their snacks and the new info signs are good for our son to read on the way round.”

Fennes Shooting School

Closed until 09:00 AM

Fennes - Wedding Venue in Essex, Fennes Rd, Bocking, Braintree CM7 5PL, United Kingdom

“Fantastic!! My son and I decided to give it a go for his 18th birthday, where both of us were complete novices. Our instructor Kevin walked us around the various shooting areas while being an absolute star no questions asked. If you’re considering whether to go, do it! We will be coming back for sure”

Colchester Sports Park
4.7
( 10 reviews )
Closed until 06:00 AM

Cuckoo Farm Way, Colchester CO4 5YX, United Kingdom

“Just a hop off the A12 next to the park and ride. Plenty of free parking space. We booked a court to play Badminton online. Took our own rackets and shuttles. The hall was laid out with 4 or 5 courts, quite close to each other but didn't cause a problem. Benches along the side to take a well earned break and keep your bits. Reception desk was friendly and quick. Situated in the cafe which is very roomy. Had a nose around and could see a gym, weights room, function rooms, balcony. Outside had multiple pitches and high level cycling facilities Inc kiddies cycle area. Probably more that we didn't see.”

Epping Golf Course
4.3
( 16 reviews )

Fluxs Ln, Epping CM16 7NJ, United Kingdom

“Arrived for a 10:30 tee time today. The staff in the club house were really friendly and helpful and being the greedy fella I am I started the day with a bacon bap which was delicious! The round of golf was really cheap at just £22 a head and the course was in great condition! With the rain we had up until about an hour before we tee'd off a few of the greens were holding a but of water but were far from unplayable! Visited the clubhouse again before we left to have (another) quick bite to eat which again was great value and very tasty! Thanks very much everyone! We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back soon!”

Puregym Basildon

Eastgate Shopping Centre 71, Southernhay, Basildon SS14 1EB, United Kingdom

“Absolutely love this gym, so much equipment I can go in workout, get it done, and leave. Personal trainers are always on hand to offer advice. I highly recommend David he helped me so much with changing my body”

Leisure World Colchester
3.8
( 8 reviews )

Cowdray Ave, Colchester CO1 1YH, United Kingdom

“Went to the swimming part of the leisure centre and had a blast, it’s mostly online bookings with time slots most likely due to its busyness. Polite and friendly staff, clean and tidy centre and good value for money. Car park will be busy, so be prepared to hunt for a spot midday! Parking is set to 4 hours stay if you use the iPads and put in your number plate in. Overall a superb day out and will defiantly be visiting again”

Puregym Harlow
4.2
( 8 reviews )

The Water Garden, College Square, THE WATER GARDENS, Harlow CM20 1AJ, United Kingdom

“Bought a day pass while staying away. Severely lacking in equipment (apart from 2 leg presses no leg accessory machines, 1 cable tower but no other chest accessory machines) and the equipment that was present was poorly made (massive jumps in bar height on the squat rack and flat bench). Shower was unclean and smelled strongly of sewage. Better then nothing but only just...”

Puregym Colchester Retail Park
4.5
( 8 reviews )

Unit B2, Retail Park, Sheepen Rd, Colchester CO3 3GT, United Kingdom

“Equipment is pretty decent but frankly if you want a usable atmosphere and you work something like a 9-5 simply don't bother. When I first joined in the summer of 2022 it was actually really decent - it was often busy but not overcrowded and you didn't have to wait long for a machine if waiting at all. However, due to factors both in and outside the gym's control, its basically filled to the brim with 17 year olds with curled hair all crowding the bench press for about an hour whilst they all test their 1RM. In all the times I have seen a staff member there, the occasions on which I've seen them doing things like cleaning equipment or putting weights back is very minimal. I'll still continue to go one the weekends when its not like the siege of Troy but I literally had to purchase another gym membership to use during the weeks so I could get a workout done in a reasonable amount of time. Having over or close to 100 people in that gym shows the priority of management and the company at large. Also the fact it takes weeks to fix equipment is a joke lol”

Daisy May's Farm

Closed until 09:00 AM

Hall Rd, Bishop's Stortford CM22 6DN, United Kingdom

“Liked: Baby animals were nice experience for kids and woodland walk, kids also enjoyed playing in the sand pit until they were told to leave because they can’t be watched by older siblings. Disliked: Lots actually! This is very basic camp site on working farm. Animals running free so lots of poops everywhere! Make sure to bring wellies! Very small camp site. I personally think it was overbooked when we stayed. Main camp site full so we had to drive along the woodland site, this again was full with limited spaces, we had to pitch on side of the road, to be told the next day we can’t have our car there as it’s ‘peaceful’ location. This was right at the back of the camp, we were last tent. You will receive welcome’ message with unclear directions of where you can and can park and when booking is made you are advised one car per tenet is allowed, but this does not apply to field right at the back called woodlands. Just keep that in mind when you plan to arrive late as main field gets full as it is not that big at all. There is no one to greet you so don’t even worry to check in, no one at the gate to give map or directions. Stayed there Friday to Sunday, Saturday evening we were approached by ‘lady’; no introduction or anything, we were basically told that rules are that cars can’t be parked next to tent and we need to move. She didn’t hear anything not even that we already had a drink and shouldn’t drive. She was rude to us and kids. My daughter wanted to get water and was told by staff that my business is more important than yours and you have to wait even though she was the first one at the tap. I have only seen two taps on entire field with drinking water, you have to walk around big animal enclosure to get to it so be prepared! All in all, I would not recommend staying there. One last thing, no washing up point and showers and toilets are port cabins with no light, at both camp fields only two toilets and one shower! Never cleaned during our stay. Bins at sand pit overflowing, never emptied. Ground very uneven, hard to find flat space. Also, not so peaceful, planes starting and landing at Stanstead Airport will keep you awake.”
